5 out of 5 eggsThe thing really works

Pros: Works so much better than my former video card that it's not even funny. Using the stock cooler, even with Riva Tuner pegging the fan at 100%, running ME2 (2, not 3) at 1920x1200 would spike the video card's temperature to nearly 100C before it'd screw up and crash my system. Using this cooler and no supplemental fan, my video card never got above 65C while playing ME2. Adding a slot fan next door brought it down another 5C.

Cons: Bit of a pain to install and the instructions aren't that solid. I would not recommend trying it unless you're fairly comfortable working with electronics.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty darn good cooler

Pros: Been using this cooler for over a year - works quite well on an Nvidia GTS 250. Great in tandem with the Accel-S-Tm turbo. GPU stays steady at about 32C under heavy load with Accel add on. about 40C without Accel add on. System is in a desk cabinet.

Cons: Was a pain to install - I ended up using my own hardware to secure it to the card. It was a gigantic pain the rear getting the heat sinks to stay put while attaching this product.

Other Thoughts: Good if you don't mind some creatinve engineering when attaching it to the card.

5 out of 5 eggsArctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2

Pros: My old gaming PC was relocated to the living room and converted into a wireless multimedia PC after being hooked up to my SONY 50" rear projection TV in January of 2011. Unfortunately, the ATI HD 3850 AGP card (yes it was that retro) lost power to it's heat sink fan. The temperature on the GPU quickly spiked to 82 degrees Celsius and slowly continued climbing. I didn't let the situation continue further simply powering down the PC. I stumbled upon this aftermarket VGA cooler that was compatible with the ATI HD 3850 AGP video card and lowered my temps from the stock temperature of about 65 degrees Celsius to 47 degrees Celsius, thereby saving probably the fastest AGP card ever built and my favorite piece of ancient hardware. Also, the Arctic Cooling Accelero S1 Rev.2 is actually running my ATI HD 3850 a few degrees cooler as compared to the stock heatsink on my AMD HD 6870 at 51 degrees Celsius in the new AMD 1090T gaming rig I have. Note: I also used Arctic Silver 5 Thermal compound

Cons: The thermal adhesive was a bit, er...weak. You need to be careful when installing this product. Make absolutely certain the upper surface of the GPU, memory modules, and voltage regulator chips on the graphics card are spotless. Also, the memory modules and voltage regulator chips must be rubbed with a pink rubber eraser (whose idea was this? LoL) for the thermal adhesive on the mini heat sinks to stick. I honestly would just permanently bond the mini heat sinks to the memory modules and voltage regulator chips with an aftermarket thermal adhesive if I ever had to do it again...and who knows I may if one of them falls off. Although the whole pencil eraser technique is listed in the manual, there is always a better way. My philosophy is that a PC isn't modded right until it's done my way, but I went with the "book" on this one.

Other Thoughts: Not much to say here, it did what it had to do and I have been staring at the HD 3850s temperature gauge for an hour and it is holding steady below 50 degrees Celsius so I am pretty impressed at the moment.

3 out of 5 eggsGood, but flawed

Pros: Quiet and thethe temps are now lower.

Cons: Some of the pieces did not match the picture in the instructions and in any event, could not be installed. I am not sure if this is affecting its performance.

My card idles at 65 on the stock cooler. After installing this Accelero cooler, temp started at 48 and slowly crept up to about 60 after 10 minutes. So there was not a big difference using this card other than it is silent. Added a case fan blowing upwards on it, and now idle temp is 53, and it is still significantly more quiet than the stock cooler which had started to emit a low rattle / buzz.

Other Thoughts: large. on my card, the fins go out past the size of the card on the top and the side where the PCIe power is connected.

5 out of 5 eggsZOMG!

Pros: I don't generally leave reviews unless a product merits a really bad one, or in the case of the Accelero S1 Rev.2, a really good one. I purchased this item after reading the immense amount of suggestions on forums and review sites. I have to say that I'm quite impressed with this product. My Visiontek 4850 was 85C IDLE with the fan speed at a consistent 56% (and it was kinda noisy relative to the other case fans). Under load the GPU would hit in the upper 90's! Upon installing this nifty heatsink, my GPU now idles @ 40C. This is with passive cooling! Granted, it's in an Antec 900 with ambient temps ~71F, but the difference is astronomical! If your on the verge of deciding on a new heatsink for your GPU LOOK NO FURTHER!

Cons: As others have noted: the ram heatsinks do not stick well. Even after thoroughly following the directions and rubbing the chips with an eraser I still had some difficulty; in fact, I believe one has already fallen off....

Other Thoughts: Newegg's customer service and shipping times were once again top notch.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat improvement

Pros: Amazing improvement from avg's of 100 degrees down to 80 degrees when gaming. From 65 degrees to 50 idle. No more graphic card failures, allowing me to use this card for gaming for another year hopefully.

Cons: Mini heat sinks don't stay on well.

Other Thoughts: Would be nice with a fan as well, however works fine with out one. I only have a 32mm case fan that doesnt point directly at it.

4 out of 5 eggshave 3, work well

Pros: silent. Keeps the card pretty cool.

Cons: You won't be able to over clock much with these, since they're passive.

The little heat sinks that stick on to the card tend to fall off.

Passing a crossfire cable through them is difficult but possible.

They are very large, make sure you have room.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Fanless Setup

Pros: Keeps the case cool and quiet. Really a pretty good deal for the price.

Cons: Was Larger than i realized. make sure you have room in your machine vertically. i had to remove a fan to make it fit. It took me long to put together than i realized, but no big deal.

5 out of 5 eggsStill amazing

Pros: I got one of these (back then not Rev. 2 yet) for my 7800GT years ago and was very satisfied. So when recently my 8800GT with stock cooler started to heat up like hell for no apparent reason (90°C on idle) and I wanted to get it ready for possibly becoming a dedicated PhysX card in a SLI system (3 screaming coolers? No thanks...), I was happy to see that this cooler still seems to perform very well even with 200-series cards. And figured I would just give it a shot and buy a new GTS 250 for a couple of bucks should I not be able to save my 8800GT.

Results (S1 passive cooling only):
From 90°C down to 57°C on idle.
And 70°C under load.

Considering the state of the card before I found that quite amazing! Like this, I bet the card will still last another year or so and I am once again completely satisfied.

Cons: Just one minor thing: the parts pictured on the included installation guide are out of date and look different. They are probably still the ones from Rev. 1 - because the ones on my old card looked like that.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooler

Pros: Does the job well. The temps with the stock cooler on my GTS 250 went from 55C idle and 78C under load to 40C idle and 62C under load.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Without a fan added on it is a beast but when you add a fan its even better.
