MX-2 is a high thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance compound for components that require optimum thermal dissipation. It is ideally suited for use in CPU, GPU cooling and other applications between power semiconductor components and heat sinks where thermal conductivity is a major factor.

  • newegg Maximizes Heat Transfer The high-performance Arctic cooling MX-2 thermal compound eliminates minute air gaps between the heat source and the heat sink caused by their uneven surfaces for the optimized heat transfer.
  • newegg Electrical Insulator Having no metal or any other conductive material, the Arctic cooling MX-2 thermal compound cannot result in any damage even when it contacts to electrical traces, pins and leads.

5 out of 5 eggsThermal Compound

Pros: What can I say? It's thermal compound. Was a little thicker than I though it would be, but seems to be making a connection. CPU has not over heated. Using stock Intel Cooler

Cons: There are no cons I can think of currently.

5 out of 5 eggsCoooooool

Pros: -Does what it's supposed to do
-4g goes a long way. Since buying it a little more than a year ago I have applied and reapplied thermal paste to both my desktops, both laptops, and a friend's pc (7 applications total) and there's still a bit left in the tube.

Cons: -None

Other Thoughts: -Wish they put this stuff on my heat sink in the first place

5 out of 5 eggsDoes it's job, saves a bit of money, a bit.

Pros: Keeps CPU roughly 2-5 degrees lower than the original paste on the machine.
Non-Conductive (My computer is still living after I made an oops).
Lasts

Cons: N/A

Other Thoughts: My CPU was running at 98 Celsius, regret not checking the temps earlier when I was having issues. My buddy recommended this product to me and I've had no problems. Recommended.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat thermal compound

Pros: Best performing thermal compound for the money imho. There is better thermal compounds out there but for the extra degree to me it's not worth twice the price. Google Tom's hardware thermal compound performance to see what I'm talking about. I use mx-2 on my cpu regularly (while tinkering) and also replaced the compound in my video cards for a 4 to 6 degree drop. There is enough in one tube for 2 video card applications or 4 or 5 cpu applications if you use it right.

Cons: It's not free...Could always use more but I really think price is fair for the amount.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: Cut down about 5 degrees (with my H60 water cooler), which allowed me to safely push my i7 930 @ 4.15 ghz with a safe working temperature.

Cons: None that I can think of really.

5 out of 5 eggsSeems pretty good.

Pros: Seems like good thermal compound. Have used arctic brands in the past with success.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Don't have numbers to throw up as I didn't do any testing before or after. Does what thermal compound is supposed to do. Had zero issues with it so far.
