MX-2 is a high thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance compound for components that require optimum thermal dissipation. It is ideally suited for use in CPU, GPU cooling and other applications between power semiconductor components and heat sinks where thermal conductivity is a major factor.

  • newegg Maximizes Heat Transfer The high-performance Arctic cooling MX-2 thermal compound eliminates minute air gaps between the heat source and the heat sink caused by their uneven surfaces for the optimized heat transfer.
  • newegg Electrical Insulator Having no metal or any other conductive material, the Arctic cooling MX-2 thermal compound cannot result in any damage even when it contacts to electrical traces, pins and leads.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: It helps make the heat go from the heat spreader to the heat sink.

Cons: I cannot think of any.

Other Thoughts: My old HD 5770 had begun to sound like a freakin' tornado. The fan was running at very high RPMs whenever I fired up a game.

I took the Phoenix cooler off and cleaned the dust out of the fins on the heatsink and the fan. I cleaned the old gunk off of the GPU heat spreader and then applied a nice, even, coat of MX-2 to same.

Put the card back together, reinstalled it, fired up FarCry 3, and watched while my temps got no higher than 60c and the fan speed stayed below 45%.

Nice and quiet again! Thanks, MX-2!

5 out of 5 eggsIt Works

Pros: It's thermal grease and it does its job.

Cons: How would you be able to tell if there's something bad about thermal grease? I can't say anything bad about this product.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Stuff!

Pros: - It works.
- It works really well.
- It's not conductive.
- It's as advertized.

Cons: - I just personally think it's a little expensive but, hey, if it works then it's worth it.

Other Thoughts: There's really not much to say, but what did you expect? It's thermal paste people, it's not the most complex thing in the world. That said, this stuff works very well. So if you think you need the best, go ahead and buy it. I certainly don't regret it, and I don't think my 3770k does either.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat compound

Pros: Works perfectly non-conductive :D

Cons: Doesn't come with a girl to clean it up and make me a sandwich?

Other Thoughts: I bought this to specifically re-adhere my ihs to my 3770k pcb chip. It seems to be pretty good for that. I put 4 dabs on the ihs in the corners just in case i were to run into a problem with my de-lid process. 5.0ghz pushing 1.5 volts and it doesn't even flinch with temps. I'm ecstatic. CL Ultra on the core and mx-4 on the ihs to water block and all goes well 20c roughly with this closed loop antec 120mm. Couldn't be happier.
