4 out of 5 eggsDecent cooler

Pros: White fans look nice. Quieter and better performance than stock cooler. I am just using it on the AMD Sempron 145 in a Media PC and works great for that.

Cons: Not many I can think of. For the price it is working great. Doesn't have the easiest clips to work with but nothing a flathead screwdriver can't solve.

5 out of 5 eggsGetting Better

Pros: Quiet, price, size

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I reviews this about a month ago and I complained that my temps were rather high during my video editing renders. Well, since my last review, I've added two 120mm exhaust fans and one 90mm intake fan to my case and I've overclocked my FX-8320 to 4.2 and during my video renders this cpu reaches 70c and while browsing the web, watching youtube videos in HD this thing doesn't go higher than 30c. In complete idle it doesn't go above 19c. So adding the 3 fans definitely helps to cool the case and allows for a small overclock. Great bang for buck!

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock fx8320 cooler

Pros: Price, size, quiet

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: So, it's cooling an FX8320. The main reason I bought this cooler was because of it's size. I didn't want to buy a big heavy cooler the size of a brick to cool a cpu that isn't going to be overclocked. Also, the stock cooler was driving me crazy with it's super loud fan.
Other reviews state that this Alpine 64 Pro is quiet and yes, it's true. Even at full load it's very quiet. Not silent but quiet.
Now, my temps are pretty good and at idle they range between 13c-23c. However, I can't seem to figure out why at full load during my video editing it goes as high as 70c. I expected no higher than 55c. But whatever. It still is very quiet and temps are good.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite Heavily Suprizing - Alpine 64 Pro Rev

Pros: - Inexpensive.
- Has a somewhat low profile.
- Fairly quiet.
- Easy installation
The ability this thing has to keep a cpu cool is - when combined with a good case (such as the Storm Stryker) - quite impressive for its size. Under stress I have never seen it run above 65C with an AMD 8350.

Cons: - no major cons at this time.
Overclocking is not recommended with this product, that said this could serve well enough to bump a cpu up about .1-.4 GHz.

Other Thoughts: Mind you, I run my fans at fairly high RPMs whenever the CPU is under load. I set my cpu fan to run at max when it reaches 60C.

Without proper circulation it would probably serve poorly for the type of fan it is. That said, its more or less true for many CPU fans, more true though for this fan type. However, this fan is very good value.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler

Pros: Ultra quiet. The install is unusual, but I find it better than the standard cooler attachment.

Cons: It's big. It fit in the two computers I installed it in. But in one of them, it is now blocking the RAM from ever being removed, unless I remove the cooler also.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet, efficient!

Pros: Much larger than stock heatsink/fan on the A8-5600K, it really keeps my CPU cool and is whisper quiet!

Cons: Installation. After 20 minutes of trying to coax this cooler to fasten to the heatsink clips, I got lucky and managed to snap it in place, before I was about to throw it through my window! You will have to take the mobo out of your case to install this cooler. Yes it does use the stock AMD mounting, but not enough room for your hands to make the connections. Be sure to back off the adjusting screws as far as possible for ease of installation . If you try to install this while the mobo is still in your case, good luck, find someone with tiny fingers to attach the top clip. The bottom clip is easy. it's the top one that is only partially visible and very hard to get to because the top of the case is physically impeding you, unless of course you have a gigantic case.

Other Thoughts: It's a good buy, looks great. cools great, I bought it because I wanted a cooler I could mount without taking the mobo out of my PC case. I got lucky, but you'll be much less stressed out if you remove the mobo to install this.

4 out of 5 eggsit does the job

Pros: low noise cooler
pretty cheap

Cons: really high idle temps 60 degree on a quad core phenom II x4 940. so no overclocking for me i should have bought a cooler with a lapped base with heatpipes. but i think maybe this cooler would be before for non black edition amd cpus or maybe even the dual core, not very suitable cooling for the quad core at 62celcious idle, and 65c load. not unhappy but i coulda did better if i paid more attention and spent a few more dollars.

Other Thoughts: maybe not buy for quad core black edition but for dual core standard editiion. may not be optimized for dissapating heat from a 95w tdp quad core amd cpu. on another note i use artic silver 5 thermal paste and i doubt i put it on wrong.
