The ARCTIC MX-4 is a premium-grade thermal paste with exceptional performance and ease of application. It is an electrically non-conductive paste that is applied between CPU/GPU and designated coolers to transfer the dissipated heat from the components to the heat sink. Since the ARCTIC MX-4 is a metal-free compound, it eliminates the risks of causing short circuit and in turn adding more protection to your computer.

Pros: It cools the CPU to some degree

Cons: CPU temperatures are higher with this garbage than with the stock thermal compound that came with my CPU cooler

Other Thoughts: I bought this thinking it would improve my CPU temperature but all it has done is increase it. I have tried re-applying this stuff three different times using three different methods. First I tried the pea method. I got over 10 degrees hotter than with my stock pre-applied thermal compound that was on my Deep cool (cheap) heat sink. I then tried spreading it on the CPU and got a little bit of a better result. 7 degrees hotter. I then tried the line method and am now still at 7 degrees hotter. I have checked to make sure the heat sink clips are all in properly. I am very disappointed and wish I just kept the stock compound on. Waste of my money

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace the stock thermal compound, Applied it to both CPU and GPU and it has been working great, I Live in the desert so my house stays pretty warm, my PC runs about 30°C while idle but when playing demanding games or otherwise at maximum load, the CPU never goes above 50°C and the GPU 55°C.

Pros: Apres avoir essayé pas mal de pate thermique de differentes marques ( incluant Arctic Siver 5---Noctua.. etc), je peux vous dire que le ARCTIC MX-4 est sur la premiere marche du podium....et de loin....AUCUNES pate thermique ne lui arrive a la cheville....i5 4690k overclocké a 4500 Mhz ne depasse pas 66 degres avec un Be Quiet Dark Rock 3 et se maintien sous les 60 degres a 80% du temps pendant un stress test ( Aida64, 1 heure).. une difference de 5 a 8 degres compare a la Arctic Silver 5.... et ce n'est pas une blague!!!!!!!!!!!au prix que les processeurs coutent, ils meritent ce qu'il y a de mieux pour les refroidir : La ARCTIC MX-4.....et son prix est plus que raisonable.......pour rien au monde je ne changerais de pate thermique.....

Cons: Sincerement, je ne trouve rien a redire de ce produit

Other Thoughts: Je prefere l'étendre avec une petite spatule ou un vieille carte de credit en un fine couche......elle s'etend comme un charme et surtout , elle est NON CONDUCTRICE, donc aucun risque pour le board..Si c'est la premiere fois que vous achtez cette pate, vous ne serez pas decus et ce sera la pate que vous utiliserez a l'avenir sans aucuns doutes!!!!!!! N'hesitez pas a vous procurer cette INCROYABLE PATE THERMIQUE!!!

Pros: Cleans up easy, even from fingers.

Cons: Have to deal with that stringy strand of compound carefully when moving applicator away from processor.

Other Thoughts: I had just installed a new/used i7 mobile 2.7-3.4 in my Lenovo laptop ($50 upgrade:) and used artic silver 5 and have been watching temps for several days when this MX-4 paste arrived.

So I cleaned up everything exceptionally well and am trying it now. Seems to be nearly identical temps of artic silver 5 but it hasn't aged yet so time will tell.

I see one degree C lower at the high temp end. Which isn't a big deal really. 79c compared to 80c artic silver when loaded up to 28watts on a 35watt processor .. but maybe memory load or something else effecting it, not a scientific test.

Both are a major leap of cooling as compared to the OEM applied flood of compound when reading core temps with the little RealTemp program that runs constantly in the tray. 25F lower - but I think the flood of oem paste maybe was transfering temp from the silicon to the metal cpu contact and gave some kind of average temp ... oem paste at idle core was showing mostly 108F, now MX-4 typically its 84F.

Pros: Price wise it's a really nice product. It is very easy to spread (I use rice grain sized blob in the middle), I used it on my old laptop, a new computer build with a fan-less cooler, and on my main machine with a core i7 4790k, Laptop got 5-10 degrees cooler compared to dried 8 year old stock paste, fan-less build worked out well to but have nothing to compare to but temps on that PC with i5 4590 stay 27-30 idle- light load, up to 55-58 degrees full load with two case fans spinning at 565 RPM.

Cons: Maybe a bit pricey compared to Arctic silver paste, temps do become better after couple of days (1-2 deg) so it means it has some curing time, but no biggie

Other Thoughts: Top tier thermal paste for different applications (high mounting pressure, low mounting pressure, fan-less radiators

Pros: seems to run several degrees cooler than alot of other brands and especially off brands! took about 4c off of the stock 212 evo temps for me. Did a decent amount of research and this seems to be the product to buy

Cons: seems a LITTLE overpriced but you get a lot so its really not a bad deal

Other Thoughts: unless you want extreme results and want to mess with runny conductive/corrosive fluid on your cpu then get this!
