Arctic Cooling MX-4

Thermal Conductivity (W/mk): 8.5

Viscosity (poise): 870

Density (g/cm3): 2.5

Net Weight: 4g

The ARCTIC MX-4 is a premium-grade thermal paste with exceptional performance and ease of application. It is an electrically non-conductive paste that is applied between CPU/GPU and designated coolers to transfer the dissipated heat from the components to the heat sink. Since the ARCTIC MX-4 is a metal-free compound, it eliminates the risks of causing short circuit and in turn adding more protection to your computer.

The new formula in the ARCTIC MX-4 features optimal thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance. These characteristics effectively dissipate the emitted heat from the core components.

The consistency of the ARCTIC MX-4 is designed for simple application. Its texture is just thin enough to spread onto components using fingers without creating much mess.

5 out of 5 eggsUse it and Believe!

Pros: It does as stated in so many reviews. Actually lowers temps, 3-5C.
Non conductive
Easy to apply

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I always used Artic Silver 5. I rebuilt an older i7 3770K system and used this in combination with a Zalman CNPS5X Performa. Using the Artic silver 5, the cpu clocked at 4.0 GHZ would still top off around 67C to 70C. Still below the thermal threshold for the CPU, but made me uncomfortable. Took the chance and ordered MX-4 and applied after cleaning the CPU. After installation of the Zalman, the thermal threshold of the cpu using Prime 95 was around 63C. Gives me more comfort knowing that the CPU is a bit cooler on full load.
Artic Silver 5 takes around 200 hours to cure. MX-4 doesn't require curing. Just does the job!

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: Put this between my amd fx6300 and my thermalright venomous x and my idle temp is between 5-9 degrees celcius. Under load it peaks at 21-22 degrees celcius. have tried arctic silver 5, but i dont like the time it take to set.. with mx-4 i left my pc on overnight and noticed a good drop in temps by the next day

Cons: not edible

5 out of 5 eggsawesome paste!

Pros: works great, no curing time and non conductive! It spreads great under my hyper 212 evos (yes i have two :P) and it does what you'd expect.

Cons: i rubbed some on myself during a heatwave and it did nothing!

Other Thoughts: it is great thermal paste, look no further. with 4g you'll have enough for plenty of heatsink installations.

5 out of 5 eggsMX-4 Carbon-based thermal compound

Pros: This was my first time (gasp) trying this product, and it didn't disappoint me. I've tried just about everything except peanut butter (no, some silly sots have really tried it), and I always stick to Arctic compounds, though I didn't intend it as a pun. I used a bit less than a full, round pea-sized dot in the middle of our new FX-8350; using more is simply wasteful and this goop is too expensive to waste any of it. Within an hour the temps settled down and the chip ran evenly, nice and cool (though to be fair, it also helps to have an H100i cooling block running on the chip). Seriously, this surpassed the older paste I've used for so long, AS-5. After I removed the water pump/cooler, I was pleasantly surprised that the carbon-based MX-4 didn't run, but spread out more evenly than AS-5 did. It's a bit thicker, but for me it's easier to apply.

Cons: If carbon-based life-forms are so intelligent, then why isn't MX-4 less expensive so that we users don't complain about the cost so much? Arctic can pay their own bills, rent, etc...after all, it does keep those expensive chips from frying, and isn't that worth what this is, and does for us?

Other Thoughts: When this is reduced or includes free shipping, just order it, don't worry about it, don't hesitate just get some; your processor will thank you. (unfortunately, I'm not a paid spokesman for Arctic...

5 out of 5 eggsGreat TIM

Pros: Used this in combination with my Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo and I went from 40-50C idle/85-95C under load down to 25-30C idle/40-45C under load. Great product for sure!

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Thermal Compound!

Pros: This is some of the best rated compound on the market and for anyone out there planing on getting this stuff buy it quick because it sells out fast and is out for about a month. Most other sites sell the same product for about $30-$40 for the same amount of compound.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Paste

Pros: Excellent temperatures
No cure time
Easy application

Cons: Somewhat pricey

Other Thoughts: Great thermal paste, highly recommended for anyone who works with computers. With Corsair H100i and i5 4690K at stock clocks, idle temperatures were roughly 30C and Cinebench load temperatures were 55C.
