SPEC

Specifications
Thermal Conductivity (W/mk): 8.5

Viscosity (poise): 870

Density (g/cm3): 2.5

Net Weight: 4g

The ARCTIC MX-4 is a premium-grade thermal paste with exceptional performance and ease of application. It is an electrically non-conductive paste that is applied between CPU/GPU and designated coolers to transfer the dissipated heat from the components to the heat sink. Since the ARCTIC MX-4 is a metal-free compound, it eliminates the risks of causing short circuit and in turn adding more protection to your computer.

The new formula in the ARCTIC MX-4 features optimal thermal conductivity and low thermal resistance. These characteristics effectively dissipate the emitted heat from the core components.

The consistency of the ARCTIC MX-4 is designed for simple application. Its texture is just thin enough to spread onto components using fingers without creating much mess.

5 out of 5 eggsARCTIC MX-4 (4g) = Amazing stuff

Pros: Way better than stock pastes
Non-conductive
Great easily spreadable consistency
Easy resealable syringe tube provides easy application and cleanup
Cleans up easily with 70% rubbing alcohol
Great price (as of now it's 9.99 with a 4 dollar off coupon code - $6 is cheap!)

Cons: Doesn't provide me some witty con about how it can't cook me food or cure cancer.

Other Thoughts: This stuff is great. I have an AMD FX-9370 processor that was running up to 80ºC on full load with peaks up to 90, and was idling 40-50ºC. It was water cooled but I only had a single fan exhausting the radiator. I put an additional fan so I have a push/pull on the radiator and applied this stuff.

The combo of that has exceeded my wildest expectations. My CPU temps went down to 45-55ºC on full load with the highest peaks barely touching 60, and it idles at 6ºC (maybe the reading gauge is inaccurate that low because that's 43ºF but both HWMonitor and CoreTemp report that to me). I know this paste has a lot to do with the temperature drops.

After that I decided to put this stuff on my Sapphire R9 270x GPU, and my temps there dropped 3-5ºC, so it's obviously better than the stock paste on my GPU as well and every little bit helps.

I am very pleased with this product. Everyone touts Arctic Silver 5 as the best of the best but I couldn't imagine its performance being much better than MX-4, and then you're dealing with a conductive paste that you have to be much more careful with and one with "curing time". I don't think I'm ever going to buy a thermal compound that isn't Arctic MX-4.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat as usual

Pros: Keeps stable low temps, been buying this paste time after time. Can't go wrong with it and that's all that needs to be said.

5 out of 5 eggsI am sure this is great product

Pros: The CPU fan that came with my AMD cpu, and the extra fan I purchased as an upgrade, both had this compound pre installed. So, I guess what I have to say is, save the 10 dollars and if you read the details carefully of your products, you wont end up with tube for the drawer and one day to use.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Good luck, great product

5 out of 5 eggsArctic Mx-4

Pros: Super Easy to work with. Spreads easy,
No worries about shorting out if any gets on your components since there is no metal in the formula unlike some other brands. Keeping my I5-2400 at a cool 32-34 Celcius

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Would buy again, reasonably priced, and a little goes a long way.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: I build system as a side job and commonly have to repast the heat sinks when repairing a system, This was easy to apply and spread evenly on the CPU and keeps the temps down. I'll be using this more now that I've tried it.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsFor the first thermal paste I've bought this stuff is amazing

Pros: This stuff is awesome, it brought my laptops idling temp from 50c to about 40ish this stuff is just that great, the main reason I bought was because I watched one of Linus's videos about it and found this stuff is as good as it gets right from the moment you put it on the cpu or gpu due to it not needing to cure like almost all other compounds and I also put this in my desktop now it idles from 40c down to about 25 now that's just crazy if I were you you'd better purchase this for the security of not worrying about it being electrically conductive since it's carbon based and the fact it works instantly without the need to cure to have it's full potential

Cons: Wish I knew there was a 20g wish is a great deal

5 out of 5 eggsWorks nice

Pros: Works really good, used it on my water cooler and it works pretty good. Better than what the cooler came with. its not conductive so if you spill some it won't fry your stuff. Before this, my CPU was running lower 90F added this it went down to 82-86F on idle, Under load it went up to 94F, whether or not that is good, I thought it was good stuff.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: good buy in my book

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Doesn't make a mess
Great thermal conductivity
My overheating issues with both CPU and GPU are gone

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I was having some overheating issues with both CPU and GPU. I applied this paste and dropped my GPU temps from 90ºC to 60ºC. My CPU is overclocked to 4.0 GHz and dropped from 90ºC to 65/75ºC (air cooled). I'm planning to buy a water cooling system and I'll look forward to get better CPU temps with this paste.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job well

Pros: Does the job. It's just the right thickness. Not to sloppy and not to thick. Just right. It washes off ur fingers easily and it doesn't smell horrible like some of them do.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: In the past I always used a metal paste or a ceramic paste. I was very pleasantly surprised by this paste. Not to thick and not too runny, just right for spreading. It has zero cure time, which is nice, and the price is very decent. Avoid the aluminum pastes. Once you stick it on and slap it together, you'll need dynamite to get the heatsink/cpu apart agin. So yeah, with change out in mind this paste was a good match.
