This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 13 CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, 92mm PWM Fan
Pros: Put it on an AMD8350, dropped temps nearly in half. Runs at 32C when pc is idling. Ran Heaven Benchmark v4 and the highest it got was 52C, big improvement over the stock cooler.
Cons: Large, I actually had to take out a stick of memory on an ASUS M5A97 motherboard, wasn't a major issue as I was running 4 - 8gb sticks, but now I only can run 24 gig's total so I'm a little ticked about that. I'm considering sending it back & trying a water-cooled unit, we'll see. Also, the fan orientation either blows the air up into the power supply (for those with the older style cases) or it blows it down onto the Video card, there is no way to rotate it 90 degrees to blow the air to the back of the case like it should be which sucks.
Other Thoughts: I wish it could have been rotated, I just don't see any possible way to do it.

Pros: Cools quietly and efficiently. Precise temperature measurements aren't available but it definitely is an improvement (see other thoughts).
Cons: This thing is heavy. And, even though it is securely fastened to the bracket on the mobo, I can only wonder how long that (and the bracket) will last. Also, and this is not the fault of the heatsink, I can only direct the air flow up or down inside the case (see other thoughts).
Other Thoughts: Installed on an MSI 870-G45, cooling an unlocked Phenom II X2 555. Replaced a Zalman cooler which had a cracked heat pipe. Installation was slightly tricky, but, utlimately, uneventful. No clearance issues with mobo components, but bracket on mobo only allowed up or down airflow in my Lian Li case. Up would blow into the power supply, so I opted for down, which blows over north bridge. Probably not optimal for cooling, but still seems to work well.
HSF is very heavy and attached by only two clamps to mobo bracket. It seems secure, but really can't be sure how long it will stay that way. Also, don't know what kind of stress the weight is putting on the mobo. Will keep an eye on it, and report any issues.
Can't speak to performance with any detail because lm_sensors has unresolvable issues with temp readings for this processor. Fan is very quiet and case temperatures seem much better. It definitely works better than the unit it replaced (which wasn't working at all).

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 13 CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, 92mm PWM Fan
Pros: It's relatively short and fits into my NZXT phantom 410 case with plenty of space left over. Installation was pretty straightforward for my AM3+ socket. One thing to note i can only face the fan to blow either upwards or downwards on my sabertooth 990fx. Some others have mentioned rotating the bracket but mine has only 2 parts the upper and lower and cannot be rotated. However orientation isn't really a huge concern for me. Cooling is much better than the stock heat sink my FX-8350 came with. Overall my CPU stays fairly cool roughly around 40-45 Celsius. Very pleased with this cooler.
Cons: Can only be orientated to blow up or down with my socket configuration. Not an issue in my case but it can be in someone elses.
This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 13 CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, 92mm PWM Fan
Pros: This CPU cooler works great and was super easy to install on an Intel motherboard. My temperature dropped approximately 7-10 degrees Celsius over the stock Intel cooler. Furthermore, the fan runs very quiet.
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: I highly recommend this product especially if you are using a mid-tower case.
This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 13 CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, 92mm PWM Fan
Pros: Square mounting bracket can be oriented so that heatsink mounts facing rear or top of case.
Cons: Heatsink can also mount so the fan blows towards the graphics card or front of case - but why would anyone do that ?!?!
Due to confusion among some users, Arctic should offer a video tutorial on their website for AMD installation and for Intel installation.
Other Thoughts: Some users installed the mounting bracket so this wide heatsink almost covers the nearest memory slot. Rotate the bracket a quarter turn (90 degrees) and the width of the heatsink is then nowhere near the memory slots. In this setting the fan blows heat towards the rear of the case.
If you want the fan to blow towards the top of the case make sure your memory slots are spaced well away from the cpu socket, or choose a different cooler with higher clearance such as Freezer 13 Pro.

Rating: 4/5Good albeit not great easy to install cooler
This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 13 CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, 200W Cooling Capacity, 92mm PWM Fan
Pros: Easy tools less installation. Don't need to remove the motherboard to install it. Strong enough. Not too heavy so you can move the case around. Not expensive.
Cons: Too much pre-applied thermal paste. Noise level is good but not great.
Other Thoughts: This is a good functional cooler. It is an upgrade from the Intel default cooler. Very easy to install. Not too heavy nor too big will fit in most standard sized case. The "tools less" pins are strong enough even if they are made of plastic. It looks more robust than Intel default "tools less" cooler. The pre-applied thermal paste does the job but it is the weakest link of the cooler so removing it and replacing it by properly applied thermal paste is a good idea.
