4 out of 5 eggsQuiet operation

Pros: Quiet, cools very well

Cons: Big. . . oh yeah

Other Thoughts: As with other reviewers, my two main points are its size and its cooling capabilitiy. I put this onto a Radeon 9800 GT card and my temps dropped a full 20 degrees C at idle and up to 35 degrees C in game. The fan is quiet. I don't hear it running. If it weren't for the temp readout, I wouldn't know it was running at all. The heatsink is quite thick. I've lost the ability to utilize the unused PCI slots in my tower, but I'm okay with that. The trickiest part of the installation for me was putting on the double-sided sticky tape to hold the stand-offs in place on the mounting plate. Tweezers would have been helpful had I thought of that before getting the tiny rings stuck to my fingers. Make sure you have thermal compound on hand. It took me a couple of tries before I successfully aligned and attached the cooler to the card and so the preloaded compound got mucked up. Overall, I am very pleased so far.

5 out of 5 eggsARCTIC COOLING Accelero L2 Pro

Pros: It is extremely quiet, unlike the stock fan my Radeon 4760 came with. The stock fan was keeping the GPU at 80 degrees Celsius, and the ARCTIC COOLING Accelero L2 Pro keeps it at 47 degrees Celsius. It was extremely easy to install. Just make sure you measure the holes on your card to ensure the default will fit. You may have to change the brackets. Mine fit perfectly.

Cons: The only con is the size of the heat sync/fan. I did have to remove my RJ 25 card to fit it, but I don't even use it. Other than that, it is an awesome upgrage.

3 out of 5 eggson my HD 5770

Pros: it works, good price

Cons: runs hotter then the factory heatsink that was on my MSI HD 5770 idols at 54C full load is around 76-78c which is higher then id like but still functional. this heatsinks glaring flaw is size and weight. i have a bottom mounted CPU and an MSI 890FXA-GD65 - motherboard and there is enough room for it tho it takes up 3 slots the weight of the heatsink is pulling the rear of the card down.

Other Thoughts: It is a really cheap solution to my stock fan going out, i wont lose any sleep over it and ill use this fan until it dies or i get a new card it is bulky and may not be for everyone, just remember you get what you pay for and this is less then 25$.

3 out of 5 eggsdecent fan replacement

Pros: very quiet and easy to attach.

Cons: Only slightly better then stock cooler. I still think it's a good replacement for a damaged cooler but temps only indicate a minor improvement in cooling performance.

Other Thoughts: It does take up 2 slots so make sure you have enough space under the card.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent VGA Cooler

Pros: Quiet, efficient, easy to install, looks good.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Works great on a 9800GT Akimbo. Temps in the 30's at idle and 50's under stress (Celsius). Can't hear it over my Cooler Master Geminii S CPU Cooler which is already whisper quiet.

Buy this cooler for any mid-level ATI or Nvidia card to get quieter and better cooling. Buy the Twin Turbo version for high end cards.

3 out of 5 eggsnot what i thought.

Pros: i have a ati 4650 off brand asus card. I used from my old build for my new build and the fan started to go out and make lots of noise and just plain not work making my gpu run really hot up to 90C way to hot...

So I ordered this fan/heat sink combo because it says it fits on the ati 4650's and well it does but there was no room left to plug the card back into the slot...

Cons: bigger then i expected.

I had to machine some of the heat-sink off to get it to fit back in my pci x16 slot.

Fan did not fit back on to the heat sink after i machined it so i had to jury rig the fan on with a combination of super glue and zip ties.

Other Thoughts: possibly my own fault i did not see if it had the dimensions before i purchased, i was having a hard time finding a replacement fan/heat-sink combo for my gpu so i was happy to find something that fit.

It works for now at least and i over clocked my 4650 card a lot all the way up to 750mhz gpu and 600mhz ddr2 ram (ran stock at 400mhz gpu and 300mhz ddr2, Still runs at 30C-35C so great fan just not what i expected.

5 out of 5 eggsBest cooler for the price.

Pros: Mainly got this cooler to quiet down my PC. I have had arctic coolers on older video cards before and loved them. This thing does the job perfectly. Even at 12v, you will not hear it running. The RAM and VR mini-heatsinks are a cool bonus as well. Allowed me to push my memory clock even further. Installation is pretty straight forward and took about 30 minutes. Lowered my temps 10C~ across the board.

Cons: Bulky! I'm glad my PSU is top mounted. I'm not sure if it would fit with an upside down psu right below it. It really does take up 3 slots as other reviews have said.. If you have a micro-ATX mobo (like I do) You will only have 1 slot left. If you run a network card and a sound card, be prepared to part with one of them.

Other Thoughts: Put it on backwards the first time..it will only fit into the picex16 slot one way. Not really a con since it was my fault. Also, the pre-applied mx-5 covers a large area on the heatsink. It covers a bigger area than my actual 65nm die. (9800gt) Not a big deal though, it is non-conductive to electricity. The mx-5 requires around 200 hours of heating cycles to reach its peak potential. Don't be disappointed if your temps aren't significantly lower when you first put it on...give it time.

2 out of 5 eggsGreat, while the fan worked

Pros: Worked very well on quietly cooling an Radeon 5570. The stock fan was annoyingly high pitched and loud.

Cons: The fan died after about 6 months. Because it was so quiet, didn't even realize it had stopped working until the user complained about really long boot times and wierd system behavior.

Other Thoughts: The heatsink and fan design are excellent for a midrange video chip. A bit bulky, but not that bad. Fan longevity is the problem. I used it with the included molex adapter so it wasn't the power header on the video card.

Replaced the included fan with an 80mm x 25mm case fan I had lying around...just jammed it in there between the taller fins of the heatsink. Works just as well as the included fan if not better.

1 out of 5 eggsFan broken out of box.

Pros: None

Cons: Got the whole thing installed, which was a serious pain only to find out the fan was non-functional.
I tried to get it to spin with both pwm connector on my 5830, and molex adapter included in package. Neither worked..

Contacted Artic Cooling 4 days ago, and still haven't gotten a response. Unless I want to remove the heat sink, and glued on ram-sinks, I'm out $20.

Very disappointed in this item. Newegg should be protecting their customers from junk like this by not carrying it.
I've spent thousands at the egg with no bad experiences until this one.. Very frustrating though.

Other Thoughts: I've installed at least 4 different types of aftermarket gpu heatsink, ramsink, fan units on radeon 5830s. All of the others I tried were about the same, which is why I thought I would be OK with this one.

Please newegg, quit carrying Artic Cooling products! They have 0 support for their products!

5 out of 5 eggsReivew

Pros: Does it's job quite well. It is quiet, can't hear it over my case fans. It brought my temps on my Nvidia 7600 gt from 54-57C idle 64-70C gaming to 41-43C idle 50-52C gaming. The additional cooling also made all my games work smoother, cooling is usually something I overlook when it comes to upgrading performance.

Cons: It is quite large, if you want to do dual video cards make sure you have the room. I see no problem on putting this on at least one of the cards tho even without room for the other one, with just size in consideration.

Other Thoughts: When you open the package, set it somewhere clean. They pre-applied thermal paste to the heatsink. Didn't know that until going through the instructions at the bottom of the package. Put that on my carpet, had to remove it and apply my arctic silver 5 compound. So I can't speak for the pre-applied paste, but the heat sink works very well with the arctic silver 5 compound. Used the line method, didn't need baking.
