The Accelero XTREME Plus II is here to satisfy overclockers and silent enthusiasts with unmatched cooling performance. Bundled with a set of RAM and VR heatsinks, it is compatible with a wide range of VGA boards straight out of the box.

  • newegg Significant Cooling Performance Employing the award-winning design of the Accelero XTREME series, the Accelero XTREME Plus II comes with 250 Watts of cooling capacity, which gives plenty of headroom for overclocking. It is constructed of an 83-fin aluminum heatsink with 5 copper heatpipes to deliver superior cooling performance. Pre-applied with the flagship thermal compound MX-4, efficient heat dissipation of the components are guaranteed.
  • newegg Enhanced RAM and VR Cooling The Accelero XTREME Plus II comes with the G-1 thermal glue, which is an electrically non-conductive glue used to affix RAM and VR heatsinks on the VGA board. It is especially formulated to offer excellent thermal conductivity with long-lasting adhesiveness of over 10 years. Moreover, removing the G-1 is as easy as removing a thermal tape.
  • newegg Virtually Silent With three PWM-controlled 92 mm fans, the Accelero XTREME Plus II cools extremely efficient yet is almost silent. Thanks to the PWM control, the fan spins accordingly to the temperature of the GPU. This means, the fan just spins up if necessary and will rest at minimum speed otherwise. PWM settings can be modified to fix the priorities between performance and noise.
  • newegg Multi-Compatible Besides being CrossFireX and SLI compatible, the Accelero XTREME Plus II comes with a versatile and interchangeable mounting mechanism along with 31 pieces RAM and VR heatsinks to fit different models. New accessory sets will be available to make the VGA cooler compatible with future models.

5 out of 5 eggsGood cooler that fits HD6950 flex

Pros: Its an amazing cooler very silent even at 90%fan,Old one was a jet engine.

Cons: -Like previous people said get "Arctic Silver Arctic Alumina 5g Thermal Adhesive Set AATA-5G" I'm glad i did,No 5-10 hour wait.
-On hd 6950 flex edition the power connectors didn't fit needed about 3mm to fit,i forced it in but i may have to trim don't know for now its working fine.

Other Thoughts: If you have common sense this is an easy job not hard at all.

5 out of 5 eggsSize matters

Pros: None.

Cons: Size. see below.

Other Thoughts: So, I actually only had this for a few days before I had to send it back, through no fault of the heatsink. To put it shortly, it didn't fit in my case. The slightly longer description is that the listed dimensions are only of the fans. The dimensions stated on the package are 288 (L) x 103 (W) x 50 (H) mm. Check to make sure you have room before you purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsWorked for me, but do your homework!

Pros: * Temperatures much lower. 180s under load, now 150s max.
* Quiet. Not silent but much more quiet.

Cons: * Didn't fit my video card even though advertised to.
* Took me purchasing multiple heatsinks, glue, removers, I had to bend fins and rig things to get it to mount correctly, but in the end it worked.
* Recently moved from my computer to another one in household, it blocks two of my SATA ports on that board. Also had to modify case to make hard drives still fit with it.
* Instructions are too vague to be helpful.

Other Thoughts: * If you have a 560 TI, more specifically a 02G-P3-1568-KR don't even think about it.
* Doesn't fit in a Cooler Master Storm Scout. Had to break my hard drive bays to make space.
* Just do your homework, it's big and it may not fit in your case. Might not work with your card so be prepared to maybe send it back.
* I'm giving 3 eggs and not 1 because it was supposed to fit my card which didn't, but I made it work. I could of been a little more prepared.

4 out of 5 eggsWay cooler

Pros: Fantastic product. My idol temps on my Sapphire Toxic HD 6950 dropped about 25C, from 56C to 31C, which is huge. I never knew the stock coolers were that horrible. I bought this because I was tired of manually setting fan speeds high so I could play games without worrying about overheating.

Cons: Install is tricky since they don't provide card specific instructions otherwise I would have given 5 eggs. Best you do your homework and take your time with the install so you don't mess it up. Also a bit pricey but you get what you pay for. Next time I'll just buy a video card that has good stock cooling but for now my 6950 is happy.

Other Thoughts: Definitely worth it if you have a higher end graphics card.

5 out of 5 eggsInteresting

Pros: Durability, this cooler is built Ford tough. Outstanding heat dispersal, arguably the best air cooler you could get for a 580gtx. The heat from my 580 has dropped enough to overclock safely.

Cons: Installation is time consuming, if you lack patience and are not a gearhead i would recommend asking a professional to install this for you. I spent around 2 hours putting everything together, just make sure you mix the compound exactly how long it asks you to. It is not exactly a con, just be advised this cooler is for an advanced user who works well with instruction and tools.

4 out of 5 eggsPatience Young Skywaler

Pros: Lowered my HD6950 load temps by 22c and it is silent. It uses the 4pin fan header on the GPU so fan speeds can be controlled by the card. Copper pipes are thick and long and the aluminum fins do a great job of exhausting heat.

Cons: The instructions are pretty bad. The mixing and application of the compound for the heatsinks isn't very well explained. Ill get to that in other thoughts. On my HD6950 connecting the two 6pin is tight because the plastic hits one of them. It comes with 2 sets of plastic spacers that go between the card and cooler, neither one of them was the right size. Even the smaller set would not let the GPU come into contact with the copper. The gap was about as thick as 2 stacked credit cards.

Other Thoughts: Let me start by saying I purchased this open box from Newegg. Luckily everything was still in the box and it was like new.

Even with all of the cons I still give this a 4 our of 5 and not because of performance, simply because of the frustration I encountered during install. With that said this is a universal accessory and as such you have to expect that you will stumble along the way. You might have to get a little creative in the process but let me explain what I did. First, the compound mix ratio is wrong. There clearly needs to be more adhesive and less thermal paste. After the first application and letting it cure for 5 hours they still wiggled a little. Luckily I saved what I had left and by that time it was a little stronger. I applied it again and let it sit for another 4 hours and they still wiggled a little bit but not enough to fall off. I let them be and noticed as my GPU ran they became less prone to moving. I assume the heat generated by the RAM modules on the GPU cure it. None the less what I recommend is to mix it for 5 minutes and let it sit for about an hour then applying.

Moving on the the 6pin connections. One of them just barely hits the plastic on where it says "Plus II" but just barely. I could file it down slightly but it isn't a huge concern at the moment and doesn't effect much. Its more of a pain to get it in.

Lastly the biggest issue I had was with the plastic spacers. It comes with 2 sets and 2 sided adhesive. I put adhesive and spacers where the diagram told me to for my particular card which was wrong. I recommend you mock up the card on the cooler and mark them for yourselves. Neither one of the plastic spacers worked for my card. These spacers go between the card and the cooler. Both were too tall for my 6950 so what I did is go to the hardware store and purchase a small stack of small nylon washers...problem solved.

In the end and even after all the frustration this cooler is a must if you have a card that is getting hot and your stock cooler just doesn't cut it. My HD6950 was getting into the high 80's on full load and now its hovering around the mid 60's. Best part of all it is near silent. I have not heard the fans one time which is what I was going for being this is my media/Steam box in my living room. I absolutely recommend it but know that you will be frustrated and you might have to get creative but the end result will be worth it.

4 out of 5 eggsCools

Pros: Quiet and efficient, good price. Good cooler.

Cons: Was a little difficult to install. Biggest problem was the paste. I had read how people had problems if they did nto mix it for five minutes. I mixed like a crazy man and it still did not completly cure. My card seems to be working well but I think new past might have been the wiser choice. Still may re-do it?

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cools video card extremely well took me down to 37c at idle from 47C. At full load with Furmark I get 70c.Where I use to get 90c to 92c. This is with a AMD 6970 video card they are notorious for heat if you own one you can appreciate how well this thing works. I do suggest this for any video card it is worth it.I am also ordering one more for my second card. Opps before I forget you need 3 slots when this is added to your card to install in your case.

Cons: The only down fall as others have pointed out is the need to purchase Artic silver Artic alumina thermal adhesive separately to install the heat sinks. The paste that come with it works but it is tough to work with. When you go to install the unit follow all instructions to a “T”. Also find install pictures online for you card if available. Because the instructions are basic and cover generically all cards. I took one egg off for the paste and the instructions or lack there of.

Other Thoughts: If they gave better instructions and either thermal tape or thermal adhesive in two sealable tubes. This thing would sit at the top of the line.Hope this helps the next person

5 out of 5 eggsJust as planned

Pros: Lowered the temps on my 580 from 80c at load to 63c and idle temps from 37c to 29c. PCB temps dropped a good 10 degrees as well. It's also quiet even with the fan at 100%! Fantastic!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I also ordered some Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive with this as well because the reviews made it quite apparent that the stock adhesive is awful. The Arctic Alumina was easy to use and dried in less than 15 minutes. Because I bought this cooler open boxed and it didn't come with any stock thermal adhesive anyways, I'm not knocking any eggs.

Putting it together was pretty easy, so I'm not sure what the fuss is about with the instructions. It's not rocket science, people.

3 out of 5 eggsRMA UPDATE REVIEW

Pros: Lower my 580 temp. from 80C to 60C under loaded

Cons: Bad instructions and bad glues!

Other Thoughts: Its a okay product when it works. Unless you really like your video cards, its a headache when you install for your video card.
