5 out of 5 eggsAmazing cooler

Pros: The stock cooler was poorly designed, This cooler allows for much more airflow and cooler temps. I had a problem with my stock cooler GPU1 would go up to 103 degree's sometimes, while GPU2 stayed around 70. Now GPU1 maxesat 74 and GPU2 stays at a cool 63

Cons: Installation is somewhat convoluted

5 out of 5 eggsGreat product (once you get past the install)

Pros: MAJOR improvement over the stock cooler in terms of lower temperatures and noise level. I cannot even hear it now unless I am within 5 feet of the fan, and I have an open-air rig not blocked by a computer case wall. Also, the peak temps (when card is in high-usage, scrypt mining/gaming) used to be around 85-90 degrees. Now my max temps are 75 at full load. This is good as it increases the hardware life-span

Cons: Only two. 1) The installation. The instructions that come with it are useless, just throw them away, and go to YouTube and search for a how-to video for installing this. there are a couple of them, but you still have to kind of figure things out yourself. 2) Also, there are two protective layers on the heat-sink. one that covers the GPU areas that you ARE supposed to remove, and another layer that goes over the whole heat-sink that you are NOT supposed to remove. The second layer is very gooey if you try to remove it, so I did not, but it looks like you are supposed to take it off as it looks like the typical protective covers put on electronics. All in all, the installation took about an hour, but it was worth it in the end.

Other Thoughts: I think it is rather cheap that NewEgg is price gouging users on items like this. I bought this item for $49.99 w/free shipping on February 9th, 2014. As of March 1st, not even a month later, it is $109, more than double in price. They do this because people like this card for alt-coin (scrypt) mining 0 like BitCoin mining, but uses video cards to do the work. NewEgg knows that this is the best cooler on the market for the 6990, so they can take advantage of people by hiking the price. It obviously costs them less than $50, so they are making a nice profit margin on this. Call it capitalism, supply/demand, whatever you want, but it's unethical IMO.

3 out of 5 eggsMixed Review

Pros: Aftermarket cooler is super quiet even at 100%.

Cools core temps by a lot. Maximum temps after stress test was 67c.

Comes with MX-4 thermal paste which is quality paste.

Solid build quality.

Installation was easy.

Cons: VRAM temps way higher than with stock cooler. Hits 70c easy and goes 90c+ when doing intensive work.

Cooler is a bit heavy so drags the card down in its slot(might be case dependent).

Hard to get 6+2 pin pci-e in and out(minor problem)

5 out of 5 eggsOne Huge Cooler!!

Pros: This thing is truly a gift from the heavens above. My Video card now can overclock easily and stay nice and cool. My temps are very nice. On ideal 34 C and on with full load and over clocked 60 C . I just wished I would have had it 2 years ago.

Cons: The fans are huge and are nice and wide. So be prepared to have the room it takes width wise. I also had to support my graphics card on the back end because of all the weight. I did not want to put more stress on my motherboard because of the extra add weight. I took a piece of thin wire and tide on the back of card and tide it to the top of case to hold the had straight.

Other Thoughts: See you in BF 4 baby!!!

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet 6990

Pros: Temperature dropped from mid 80's to around mid 60's even after just installing the card and the first time heating it up. The noise level dropped so much. I had been debating on building a ventilated closet just to get my PC out of my office or buy a quieter graphics card, because it was just too loud even with headphones on. With this fan, I can sit next to the case with the side open and not get bothered with noise. It's just as quiet at full load as it is at idle. Worth every penny for me.

Cons: The stock 6990 didn't come like this when I bought it. Would have spent an extra $100 to have it like this from day 1.

Other Thoughts: If you've changed CPU fans before, the install is roughly the same, just the card is much more expensive than most CPUs. Just take your time especially with pulling the stock heatsink off. Also, be sure to keep some tweezers nearby. I used them to get the old thermal pads off some of the smaller pieces.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Amazing.

Pros: Quiet

Keeps temperatures very low.
Bf3 ULTRA settings with stock cooler: 74-75C
Bf3 ULTRA settings with Arctic Cooler: 50-56
Idle W/ Stock Cooler: 37-41
Idle W/ Arctic Cooler: 29-30

As you can clearly see, it is AMAZINGLY cooler.
Also, it is very, very quiet. even on full load.

I will update the review monthly or after a few months to continue to check performance.

Cons: Heavy. Slightly bends if you push down on the card. Nothing extreme to worry about it though, as you obviously won't be doing that.

It is tall. i have the corsair 300r, and my side intake fans literally touch the cooler. It fits though. Barely.

Other Thoughts: although it is pricey, the temperature drop is worth it. Also the noise - you will now finally have a quiet PC.

Highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 eggsExecellent

Pros: So far this is awesome, my system is pretty much well except this card was noisy and actually running quite hot, I averaged 81~90c' with the factory cooler. Running this using MSI Kumbster Highest temperature both my cores saw was almost 70c'. It mainly counts when I play my games, Arma with the settings on my very high I am only getting 55c' at most. So all in all, its excellent.

Cons: It didn't come with the Powercolor 6990 from the beginning.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job, but a bit pricey

Pros: Temps are 15-20C lower than the stock cooler but the noise level is reduced to almost nothing, even in full load mode.
MSI Kombustor at max settings recorded 93C with the stock cooler and 74C with the Arctic Cooler.

Hope this helps!

Cons: The price is a bit too high, however if you can buy from US, you can easily find it at aprox 100USD.

Other Thoughts: Overall a huge improvement especially in terms of noise.
