The Freezer i30 is an enthusiast-grade CPU cooler for the latest Intel socket 2011, as well as socket 1155 and 1156. Exclusive technologies, direct touch heatpipes, precision machining, a fan vibration absorption and a brand new mounting system offers you plenty of overclocking headroom at a minimal noise level.

  • newegg Direct Touch Heatpipe Heatsink The Freezer i30 heatsink consists of 4 double-sided direct touch heatpipes, 8mm in diameter. A unique process (20 2011 000 71.8) allows ARCTIC COOLING to pack the heatpipes without gaps and thus increase the contact surface and achieve better flatness by precision machining – both leading to an improved heat transfer.
  • newegg Efficient Heat Dissipation As a combined result of the 4 direct touch heatpipes, 48 Aluminum fins, an interchangeable 120 mm PWM Fan (ARCTIC F12 PWM), and the famous ARCTIC MX-4 thermal compound (included), the Freezer i30 offers superior cooling performance with a maximum cooling capacity of 320 Watts and lots of headroom for overclocking.
  • newegg Virtually Silent Due to the low-noise impeller of the ARCTIC F12 PWM fan and the rubber vibration absorbers, the Freezer i30 generates a negligible noise level of only 0.3 Sone even at full speed (1,350 RPM). Furthermore, as controlled by PWM signal, this fan runs only at the optimized speed based on actual needs, which in turns minimizes the noise level further.
  • newegg 4 Mounting Directions The Freezer i30 can be mounted in all 4 directions in order to satisfy different air flow preferences due to various PC case and hard ware configurations.
  • newegg Sturdy Mounting Mechanism There is no need to worry about the weight of this muscular, yet gentle cooler. The Freezer i30 applies a durable steel mounting clip and a back-plate*. As a result it has an excellent mounting stability and is fully transport-proof. (* Socket 2011: Back-plate is integrated in original Intel socket already. Socket 1155, 1156: Additional back-plate is bundled with product.)

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as described

Pros: Easy to install. Good directions. No missing parts

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Universal build, so be prepared to hoard extra parts that you'll never ever use.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: - Big Heatsink really big.
- Fan are SO SILENT. It's unbelievable that it's even spining.
- The fan blow air out are so cold that I thought it was ice.
- I put it on my core i5 and it drop from 60 C to 40 C on Heavy Load.

Would recommend to other people. But beware it's a BIG heat sink + Fan.

Cons: Maybe the Heat Sink is too big...

5 out of 5 eggsA Monster!

Pros: The picture doesn't do this cooler justice. I was shocked at the size of this unit. I sat this on top of a MSi Z77 Big Bang board, there is only one way to mount it do to the size of the heat sinks on the board. I'm not sure if the same issue will arise on other boards. The mount system is rock solid, and love that it hooks to a standard 4 pin power on the board to power it. Cooling it seems to very well, at idle my i7 at factory clocking sits at 25C under load its at 40C.

Cons: If you mount the fan side on the same side of the dimm slots it will block the dimm slot closest to the fan. I have seen reviews where people have put a slim line stick in it.

Other Thoughts: Heck of a direct pipe cooler for the money.

4 out of 5 eggsso good

Pros: dead silent & powerful cooling

Cons: it blocked a RAM slot [but that's not important for me]

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Much better than the Intel provided cpu cooler. My i7-2600K reached 82C when benchmarking with 3DMark-Vantage and this i30 cooler dropped the temperature to 53C. I won't worry now when working my pc hard.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Large, but that's to be expected for this type of cooler AND they do give dimensions in the description. The cooler can be faced in any of 4 directions to fit.

5 out of 5 eggsEasily Cools Twin Xeon Volcanos

Pros: Very good cooling performance.
Reasonably sized cooling tower.
Good mounting hardware.
Very reasonably priced.

Cons: Fan is a little too loud at higher RPMs.

Other Thoughts: This is an excellent cooler in a more modestly sized tower design. It does a fantastic job keeping two Xeon E5-2670 CPUs cool in a back-to-back, push/pull configuration. This is a nice cooler in smaller cases where clearances are tight.

3 out of 5 eggsPlease FIX the 2011 mount

Pros: BIG - Nice and quiet - Good cooling - Efficient - works with LGA 2011 - Reasonably priced

Cons: Did not fit without modification and TIGHT when I finally did get it in.

I had to STRETCH the metal tubes for the 2011 mount. They were barely too tight to fit the base on my EVGA X79 and I really wanted to get the system up and running after finding out that the retail Intel 3820 did not come with a fan. What I did was to take a nail setting punch and place the tube onto it and put it loosely into the vise and strike it a couple times to expand the diameter on one side. Worked and mounted fine after this.

Also it was still a tight fit with little clearance for MB cooling fins and tall memory, but I am actually fine with that even though it may not be good for others.

Other Thoughts: Nice cooler, they just need to get the tubes right for the 2011 mount. Price point is good too.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent cooler

Pros: More quiet than stock Intel fan.
Keeps a 3570k OC @ 4.2 @ 58C

Cons: 3570k OC @ 4.4 @ 80C @ 1.22V

Other Thoughts: Great fan for mild overclocking and keeping the sound low at the same time which is exactly what I wanted. Trade off.

1 out of 5 eggscan't install - READ BEFORE YOU BUY IT!

Pros: uhm, nothing?

Cons: SAME HERE: My build was sabotaged by two of the four metal spacers that support the fan mounting brackets. The spacer had a different diameter than the other two and wouldn’t fit on any of the four mounting holes on my EVGA mobo.

Other Thoughts: /sorry for the copy paste/
Super unhappy. This build is for my boss. We need it for the business and now I can't put it together. Thanks Arctic. Will not buy from this company again!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat cooler, good price point

Pros: Cooler was packed nicely, with adequate documentation and instructions. Installed in less than 15 minutes with little hassle. Been running it on my i-3570k for a week (no OC yet) with low temperatures. Idling around 30C, load sits at or below 60C. Seems to be quiet- my 2x 80mm and 120mm exhaust drown out whatever noise the i30 makes.

Cons: Not much to complain about. Of course this is a larger cooler, so mini ATX builders and quad-channel kit users should avoid this if they are unsure the i30 will fit around their components. Beware when installing, too, as the metal mounting brackets dictate whether your fan will be pulling air vertically or horizontally.

Other Thoughts: Great buy if you have the space and the cash. Outperforms the Evo 212 by a solid 5C, and can compete with the Noctuna DH14.
