The Accelero Xtreme III offers superior cooling performance in silence for the fastest single GPU and a wide-range of graphic cards. With its superior performance, this cooler definitely satisfies all overclockers and enthusiasts who enjoy powerful graphic cards.

  • newegg Superior Cooling Performance Featuring three 92mm PWM fans with a maximum cooling capacity up to 300 Watts, the Accelero Xtreme III manages to transfer heat efficiently away from the GPU. Besides the 84-fin heatsink with 5 copper heatpipes, the pre-applied MX-4 thermal compound accelerates the heat dissipation process to ensure the VGA board is running under optimal temperature.
  • newegg Enhanced RAM and VR Cooling The Accelero Xtreme III comes with 31 RAM and VR heatsinks to cool your RAM and VR. This included thermal adhesive lowers RAM and VR temperature significantly and assures proper bond.
  • newegg Virtually-Silent With three PWM-controlled 92 mm fans, the Accelero Xtreme III cools efficiently and silently. Thanks to the PWM control, the fan spins according to the temperature of the GPU. This means that the fans just spin up if necessary and will rest at minimum speed otherwise. PWM settings can be modified to fix the priorities between performance and noise.
  • newegg Multi-Compatible Aside from it being CrossFire and SLI compatible, the Accelero Xtreme III comes with a versatile and interchangeable mounting mechanism along with 31 RAM and VR heatsinks to fit different models. New accessory sets will be available to make the VGA cooler compatible with future models.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Arctic Accelero makes one of the best coolers for graphics cards while being the quietest as well! I used the Accelero Xtreme III on my Asus Strix 980ti graphics card and it fit no problem. Able to fit up to 11mm tall copper heatsinks under the Accelero to put on mosfets and the ram. I used the Enzotech BCC9 low profile heatsinks for the ram they are the 9mm tall heatsinks and you need 12 of them. The Xtreme III cooled the GPU an additional 9-10C lower then Asus Direct CU III cooler does while being an average of 60 maybe 70% quieter. At full speed the Xtreme III is around 24 or 25db the Asus Strix is around 42-45db at full speed. You are required to get 2 packages of the Enzotech Mos-C1 heatsinks to cool down the vrm/voltage regulators as Asus DC III cooler has thermaltape on those parts and you need to cut them a little bit to get them to fit under the cooler. You can try to find some different heatsinks on frozencpu.com and performance-pcs.com has many different heatsinks to choose from. You can get them up to 11mm tall for this section with the red arrows. The perfect size is 6.5mm L x 6.5mm W x 10 or 11mm Height and the biggest heatsinks you can get is 8mm L x 8mm W x 11mm H for the red arrows area. You can use either the supplied thermal glue that comes with the Arctic Xtreme III or get Arctic Alumina Thermal Adhesive both work great. Make sure to allow 12-24 hours for the glue to completely dry before you use the graphics card. Also dont waste your time getting the Xtreme IV cooler as the only difference between that cooler and this Xtreme III cooler is the big backplate cooling heatsink which doesnt do much plus most graphics cards have backplates already so the big backplate heatsink from the IV wont work.

Cons: its long almost 12 inches but shouldnt be a problem with most mid and full tower cases

2 out of 5 eggsGot a bad one

Pros: Did not get a chance to experience any of the pros

Cons: Unfortunately I got a bad unit and it ended up causing my fan controller circuit in my video card to short thus making my 290x non usable..Cannot say for sure what exactly was wrong with the cooler...site reviews are quite high and I was looking forward to the noise reduction as well as temps but after that experience I personally wont take another chance

5 out of 5 eggsworth every penny!

Pros: Dropped 20c
New egg tech video was a bonus
No fan noise on max rpm - stock coolers were very loud
Price for 2 was worth it.

Cons: Tight fit length - will depend on your case
Tighter fit height - don't use back plates to get them to fit
fans did not work on 1 board had to use main power plug
Fans on main power do not appear to run full rpm had order a fan controler to see
Poor instructions I mean very poor

Other Thoughts: Well worth the fun figuring out how to install, and worth it. My first gigibyte 6970 dropped 3-4c running 45% GPU to about 67c but then it has a good cooler.

My second power color 6970 I bought used online went from 85c to 67c which was the main reason I bought these cooler.

I run the fans at full speed as I don't even hear them compared to my stock jet level noise fans. Great fans.

4 out of 5 eggsNice but check everything 1st

Pros: Nice cooler kit, comes highly recommended and purchased on that basis. I used it on a Radeon R6970 (HD6970). Instructions that come with it are only for an nvidia card so I actually had to think for my cards customization. I had a difficult time identifying the volatge regulators on my card so I didn't using HS on them...just the GPU and memory. Been working fine for about a month. I don't overclock anyway.

Cons: Not really a con but someone should really make a standard of giving clear instructions/tutorials for these. It's 2015.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works great

Pros: It keeps aging card (Sapphire 5870 2gb Eyefinity 6) cool under full load.
Moves a lot of air quietly.
Was able to install with original backplate.

Cons: Instructions are very vague. Had to google, bing & youtube the instructions. The instructions on the web-site are the exact same ones that came with cooler. Emailing the manufacture was pointless. They were just as vague as the printed instructions.

I am not sure I will be able to triple crossfire with this cooler. It takes up essentially 3 slots.

Other Thoughts: I used this cooler on a aging video card (Sapphire 5870 eyefinty 6). The Accelero Extreme 3 thermal paste comes pre-applied in a square pattern. The Sapphire 5870 2gb eyefinity 6 GPU is set in a diamond pattern. I had to wipe clean the pre-applied thermal paste and re-paste using Arctic Cooling MX4. I tried using Ceramique 2 by Arctic Silver but the MX4 proved to be better.

For me the thermal paste was far easier to work with and stronger (bonding) than the epoxy like substance that comes with acceleros other coolers.

I have a rig that is currently running 2 Sapphire 7970 6gb Ghz Vapor X Edition video cards. I plan on buying 2 of Acceleros 7970 coolers for when those cards start hitting high temps.

5 out of 5 eggsPretty Cool.... get it? huh? Cool!?

Pros: Runs very quiet.... currently reading at idle temps of 29 degrees Celsius, under load it hits about 50 degrees Celsius

Cons: Each model graphics card has its own caveats when installing

Other Thoughts: Other than that, quiet as hell and HUGE... unless you're running an extended ATX you might be only able to run dual sli

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet Tornado

Pros: This thing is ENORMOUS and cools the R9 290X like no other. the card idles at approx. 45C and never goes over 60C, which is about 35C lower than the max temps I was seeing with the stock cooler with the fan @ ~70% or so.

Cons: this card doesnt fit in my case entirely. It WORKS, but i have a bitfenix prodigy mini ITX, and in order for it to work, i leave the sode door off. This makes the card stick out and gathers more dust, but it runs so cool that I cant complain.

the RAM SINKS SUCK! They dont stay on and I had to get extra ones for the 290X to work with this from my local newegg. they are now held on by arctic cooling thermal adhesive instead of the inadequate 3M tape, and all is well.

The mounting solution for the heatsink is abysmal... The thing needs to be help on while trying to hold the card still, and screw in the tiny screws, while making sure the spacers dont move... it was liek playing twister with my hands and it was pretty terrible.

Other Thoughts: If you want to cool your 290X with the lowest possible temps on air, get this cooler... just be prepared for some finger yoga!

Believe me, I work in IT for a living, and deal with hardware ALL DAY and it still took me 2 HOURS to get this thing onto my card. it was THAT annoying.
