2 out of 5 eggsShipping was fast

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: Unknown about Pros. I have not installed it yet.

Cons: About 6 of the fins were bent on the edge as if it had been dropped or banged on a hard surface.
3 of the 4 cables on the fan were pinched and severed in half.

Other Thoughts: I repaired the fins with a pair of needle nose pliers, and will cut and re-solder / heat shrink the wires and hope for the best. @$15 It's not worth trying to fool with an RMA.
I am unsure if the repaired fins will reduce heat dissipation but I will update as soon as it is installed and stress tested.

5 out of 5 eggsEverything they said it was

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: I bought this for my general PC at home. Nothing too extreme. It works perfect for that application. Runs quiet as advertised under normal conditions. I'm not overclocking or doing any real gaming on this PC, so this heatsink and fan does the trick for me.

Cons: Can be loud when fan is going full steam. Found this out during some stress tests.

5 out of 5 eggsImprovement over Stock

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: Kept my CPU cooler by a few degrees than the stock intel one. Significantly less noise. It's cheap and it does it's job.

Cons: Did not fit in my mini-itx build. Using the Cooler Master Elite 130, the top of the fan won't clear the PSU mounted directly over the motherboard. Not a huge deal, I should have done my research. Swapped a stock intel fan and through it in the mini-itx, used this one in the older, bigger tower.

2 out of 5 eggsNoisy

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: Not much, its barely cooler than the stock fan. Probably only because it is clean and has new thermal compound. I'll bet the stock fan will be better once I clean it and reinstall it.

Cons: As stated elsewhere it has an annoying higher pitch whine. It is quieter than the stock fan, but the whine drives you nuts where the stock fan is acceptable as white noise in the background.

Other Thoughts: I'll be removing it and throwing it out.

4 out of 5 eggsIt is what it is.

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: Small enough while not to small to offer superior to stock cooling.
Quiet.
Easy to install
Doesn't block ram slots on m-atx

Cons: No value relating to overclocking,
A little pricey for small gains

Other Thoughts: Installed in a very small ivy bridge I3 machine.
Brought temps down approx 7 c using aftermarket paste.
In a good enclosure it was inaudible.
Great option when moving away from stock cooling without an overclock.
Although it appears small it is far larger than the stock heatsink by a fair amount and considerably more quiet.

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: - very quiet
- not bad cooling for the price
- looks really good in the case

Cons: Well not much if you want to OC its just good as it is .

Other Thoughts: Got this with my i5 4670K as it doesnt come with a fan so i had to pick anything til i got my self a liquid cooler as I'm not planning to oc for time being average temps are 45c - 50c
70c on heavy load . overall a really good cooler for the price I would put it on my old pc when i get a new one .

5 out of 5 eggsReasonably Quiet Shelf Stock

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: They work . . .
They do what is needed. . . .
Inexpensive Shelf Stock

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have a small home based computer consulting/repair shop and these fans are great for late night or week-end repairs.
Really makes my shop shine when I can pull new stock off the shelf at critical moments?

1 out of 5 eggsARCTIC ALPINE 11 REV.2

This review is from: ARCTIC Alpine 11 Rev. 2 CPU Cooler - Intel, Supports Multiple Sockets, 92mm PWM Fan at 23dBA

Pros: NONE.

Cons: This cpu cooler worked out real bad for me.The one i got was real annoyingly noisy. It makes an annoying "high pitched whine" noise at mid range fan speeds.

Other Thoughts: I`m out the cost on this since it costs more to mail it back than the actual purchase price.
I`m glad others have had better experiences with this cooler.
