The F PWM CO series case fans cool your computer system quietly 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. The fan forwards the PWM signal from the CPU to the whole case ventilation system. A Japanese dual ball bearing reduces friction and ensures extended lifespan. The series offers you with superb performance while maintaining your computer systems under optimal temperature at all times.

  • newegg Continuous Operation "CO" stands for Continuous Operation and makes the case fans suitable for PCs with non-stop operation like servers. This feature is brought by the Japanese dual ball bearing used in the fans, which reduces rotational friction, meaning it is less sensitive to dust and high temperature and hence is up to 5 times more durable than generic or modified bearings.
  • newegg Constantly Silent Thanks to the dual ball bearing and the unique fan holder design, the F PWM CO series is not only quiet, but also long-lasting.
  • newegg Quick and Easy Setup Via a single PWM signal, the CPU fan is controlled by the mainboard to maintain the ideal temperature of the CPU. The unique PST (PWM Sharing Technology) forwards the PWM signal to all other fans within the system so that all fans are spinning at the same speed. Such mechanism ensures silent operation when it is idle, but also gives sufficient performance when the demand comes.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks for me

Pros: PWM, relatively quiet (better than original 70mm). Got two, both fans worked apparently identically well -- no quality issues. I replaced a pair of 70mm fans on heat sinks with these 80mm fans (required a little creativity but turned out well). Interesting daisy chaining options. Reasonable price. System run cooler and quieter.

Cons: I did not need the daisy chaining provisions so for there was a bit of extra wire. The fans are bit more gray than black than indicated by photo. Neither of these matter to me since the case exterior is opaque.

Other Thoughts: The daisy chaining style was apparently chosen to permit transparently adding the fan to a MOBO with a single CPU PWM fan connector (where that PWM connector is already being used for CPU fan).

This is accomplished by (1) removing the existing CPU fan connector from the MOBO PWM connector (2) plugging the new fan on the MOBO PWM connector. (3) plug the existing PWM fan connector into the daisy chain connector provided by this new fan. (4) Optionally plug the new fan's speed connector into any available unused standard 3-pin connector.

In adding the new fan via the daisy chain, the existing CPU fan speed will remain connected to the PWM connector, the PWM controller will read the speed of the existing CPU fan and set the duty of the CPU fan as it did before. (you probably want this). The added fan will run according to the duty cycle established by the existing CPU fan speed (you probably want this also).

Since the added fan is controlled by the same PWM connector as the CPU fan and the CPU fan speed (and CPU temp) is setting the PWM duty cycle the added fan will not run at the same speed as the CPU fan. But since the added fan is connected to a previously unused connector, the added fan's speed will be sensed on the previously unused connector. So you can know the speed of the new fan.

I did not need this particular functionality. In the present situation. I have ample PWM connectors but I wanted a quieter fan for the CPU's. So a plain PWM connection would have been adequate. I do appreciate having this option though.

The fan fins are sharp, mind your fingers.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Silent Fan

Pros: Fan is silent. Connectors allow for more than one fan to be chained.

Cons: Connectors may be confusing, Documentation help for both confusing and understanding

Other Thoughts: Once connected, does the job, good airflow and silent

5 out of 5 eggsPower full! Yet quiet.

Pros: These fans are great powerful and quiet. My Asus controls these fan via PWM with no issues. When you have them at 100% they sound like mini turbines but make some insane air flow.

Cons: Plug configuration kinda sucks. Love the daisy chain ability but the 4th pin config stinks. But is manageable to make work.

4 out of 5 eggsIs this thing on?

Pros: Very quiet. PWM. Daisy Chain.

Cons: I bought 3. One of Three had a bad speed sensor wire. (-1 egg) It was the daisy chain wire, not the actual sensor wire, so if in the chain I get no speed sense from any fan. A pwm fan with no speed sense is as good as a fan with 2 pins +/-. No fear though, I just popped out the sockets from the daisy chain wire plug and sensor wire plug and swapped them. Speed sense now works.

Other Thoughts: Not sure a pwm fan does me any good. They run nearly at full speed to keep my idle machine cool. Still at max speed these are fairly quiet.

2 out of 5 eggsMay be hit and miss

Pros: Inexpensive.

Allows daisy-chaining multiple fans from a single PWM header on your motherboard.

Quiet... at first.

Cons: If you don't need to daisy chain fans, you'll have a little more extra cable to deal with.

After about a month of use at low-to-moderate speeds, my fan has developed quite a rattle. I'll be replacing it with something else.

Other Thoughts: As inexpensive as these fans are, I suspect that quality is not entirely consistent. Clearly, some other folks have had much better experiences with this fan than I did. Your mileage may vary.

5 out of 5 eggsThey are what i want

Pros: the fans are as advertised, very silent!
Strong air flow even not at load.

Cons: The cable is a little bit short

Other Thoughts: I installed one fan in front of my hard drives and one on the side of the case for my video card. The hard drives now run around 3 or 4 degrees (Celsius) cooler than before, and the video card does as well. I am will buy two more fans for later (to be used as replacements, or possibly on another system at a later date). They spin in a very low noise level, which I really appreciate. The reason I purchase these was to replace the annoying case fan I used before. They are loud enough to disturb me while working with my laptop.
Make sure you have 3 pins on your motherboard to connect the fans to, or get a converter for them to plug into/piggyback on the power supply cables.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well - some assembly required

Pros: The fans are quiet and work very well.

Cons: I purchased three of these fans for a home built home server. Two of the three fans were not pushed on the hub completely. I had seen this with with Arctic fans.

Other Thoughts: It is a case fan -It is quiet.
