3 out of 5 eggsAlmost impossible to mount on AM3+

Pros: Reasonably quiet, just a soft whirring /air movement noise. Much better than many.

Cons: Almost impossible to mount. I've been building PCs ~30 years, and this is the most trouble I've EVER had getting a heatsink in place. Reminds me of the early 90's before manufs figured out you need a lever for ZIF or HS mounting. The tabs are FAR TOO SHORT, and sit about 5 mm above the mount ears. I had to bend both sides down with pliers quite a bit, and even then I had to use so much force installing it I was worried about the pliers (impossible by hand, almost so w pliers) slipping and damaging the mobo.

Other Thoughts: Nice heatsink compound pre applied.
Dunno about the comments on screws- mine had none, and fan was press-fitted on HS. A little trouble getting it back on.

Overall, good thermal, sound, terrible mount!

1 out of 5 eggsDo not buy

Pros: cheap

Cons: If you don't get the screws out far enough on installation you'll break something.

I installed this on a new and already working mobo - and now get nothing, I believe that I pushed so hard that a connection in or near the CPU has been compromised.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy

Pros: Very Quiet

Cons: It was quiet because it wasn't working. I went back to stock and got better temps.

Other Thoughts: The only advice I could say is never buy an AMD processor without copper on the Heatsink. Just an aluminum slab will not cut it.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Price! This thing is really cheap and does a good enough job for most people. Super quiet, and cools better than my stock AMD cooler did.

Cons: Still doesn't cool well enough for my needs.

Other Thoughts: I bought this because the stock AMD fan was too loud, and it was only $18.99. For the price, this is an awesome cooler. However, my FX 8320 still goes over 70C while playing Skyrim. Granted, I use a ton of mods, including graphical enhancement mods, so that probably contributes to the high temps. I have since invested in a Corsair H60 liquid cooling system.
Still, I definitely recommend this cooler if you're not gaming. For everyday computing tasks, it does a great job, and I can't hear it at all!

4 out of 5 eggsLow price....Good fan

Pros: I have it on an AMD FX-6350 Vishera 6-Core 3.9GHz Socket AM3+ 125W and it runs at 50-57 degree while playing graphic intensive games (Alien Isolation).
Almost silent normally and when running at almost full speed is about the same noise as an AMD stock cooler at idle.

Cons: A little awkward to install, but take your time and don't force the screws. I had no problems.

3 out of 5 eggsAnnoying

Pros: Big heat sink and A nice fan works well once its actually on.

Cons: really annoying to mount on and yes the screws that come with it are kinda cheap.

Other Thoughts: I personally would not buy this again to much hassle for me.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: quiet and looks good

Cons: The mounting screws are made of aluminum and strip very easily. I replaced mine with steel screws and then everything functioned as expected. The screw specs are M3 thread, 10mm long.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: Contrary to other reviewers, I thought the install here was pretty easy. Unscrew 2 screws on the fan housing to their full extent, apply very minimal force to hook connectors on to socket and then re-tighten screws.

I saw enough complaining with the stock AMD HSF that I didn't even bother trying it so I can not compare temps and fan levels, but I'm satisfied with what I getting with the Alpine 64 Plus

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: ASUS A78M-A
AMD A10-5800K
G.Skill Ripjaws X F3-14900CL9D-8GBXL
Cougar Spike Case
