Cool like it doesn’t exist. The Alpine 7 PRO features a unique fan holder that eliminates the typical buzzing sound of 92 mm fans and reduces the noise level to a minimum. 92mm fan and optimized heatsink work in concert to achieve maximum heat dissipation. Installation will be painless thanks to pre-applied thermal compound and Intel pushpins.

  • newegg Efficient Cooling The highly efficient thermal design as well as the optimized heatsink makes sure that your CPU, voltage converters and north bridge are well cooled.
  • newegg Minimum Noise The 92mm fan of the Alpine 7 PRO features a unique vibration absorption, which gives the cooler the best noise/performance ratio in its price class. With low noise impeller, the PWM controlled fan is extremely quiet.
  • newegg Easy Installation The pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound and the convenient pushpins by Intel help save time during installation.
  • newegg Compatibility The Alpine 7 PRO is compatible with Intel Socket 1155 and 1156 up to 90 Watts. The cooler is suitable for single CPU motherboards only.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from this one

Pros: Sorry no pros on this item.

Cons: The fan assembly that came with the cpu was better made. After getting in 3 of the pins fastened into the board the fan cage broke. I reinstalled the OE Intel fan.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product. I made the purchase based on the mfg name and rebate.

3 out of 5 eggsOnly slightly better

Pros: Under load I noticed a 2°C drop from the stock Intel cooler. I was unable to determine if this is any less noisy as I have 3 cooling fans that make considerable noise and wash out the CPU noise.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Since the HS is double the size of the stock Intel I would have expected better. But with a quieter fan I guess it means less airflow so it evens out.

5 out of 5 eggsMuch quieter than I expected

Pros: I am really surprised by how much quieter this is than the stock Intel cooler. I did not have great expectations, considering that is was free after the rebate, but it does perform well. I didn't look at my CPU temps, but that wasn't really what I was concerned about anyway. The stock cooler for my 3750K sounded like a buzzsaw every time it spun up on POST, and this is much better.

Cons: I would normally say it wasn't free except... it was free.

4 out of 5 eggsSo much better then the stock CPU Fan

Pros: -really quite compared to the stock cpu fan
-my case is not hot or warm its cold maybe the reason why is because i didn't install my graphics card yet
-dont have to spin the fan for it to start unlike the stock intel cpu fan
really easy to install because all you need is common sense and read the instruction
-comes already with the cpu paste applied

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: its worth spending your money for this fan

4 out of 5 eggsMy revised opinion

Pros: Quiet, long power cable, easy to modify to fit LGA775 motherboards, good service from manufacturer.

Cons: Uses Intel style push pins, which can be inconvenient. 1 out of 4 samples had dents in the fins, ripples in the power cable insulation (partially melted?), and a broken push pin.

Other Thoughts: Arctic Cooling quickly replaced a broken push pin with a whole set of new ones.

While this is an LGA1155/1156 heatsink, it can easily be modified for LGA775 motherboards by filing the slots of the metal bracket for the push pins, which took me less 15 minutes with a round file.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect for me

Pros: Quiet fan
Easy installation
Not a gigantic cooler like some
Great price
Comes with cooling paste already applied

Cons: Quality isnt the best
Not recommended for heavy gamers.

Other Thoughts: Gave this a try as a replacement for my stock intel cooler that had a loud fan. I thought for a few bucks it would be worth the gamble even with so-so reviews. I'm only a light gamer so wasnt concerned if it cooled much, just wanted it quiet. I was happily surprised not only how quiet it is, but it also lowered my CPU temps. Used Prime95 in an apples to apples test. Runs 5c cooler.

I didnt want one of those gigantic coolers that fills up half an ATX case and has to be removed to do maintenance. Those are for hard core gamers or video editors.

Uses the intel push/pull pins which are a snap to install. Some think they are cheap, I say they are convenient. Hardest part is removing the old paste.

Ever get the feeling some give feedback just so they can list their computer components?

4 out of 5 eggsIt Fits (my Freezer Pro7 R2)!

Pros: This cooler doesn't fit any socket I use. But looking at the picture (and the price tag), I thought I'd give something a try. The fan-cage will fit onto the shroud of a Freezer Pro7 r2. Free spare fan!

(To avoid misconceptions, the fan on my FP is fine. I'm just planning for the future. Free after rebate :) )

Cons: None. (It'd be unfair of me to criticize the product, since my intent is to use just part of it, in an application the manufacturer didn't intend.)

Other Thoughts: The cage is not exactly the same dimensions as the FP7; one dimension is a little less, the other slightly more. But the rubber mounts will stretch to fit. I'll say, the rubber looks a little strained, so I might be shortening its life a little. But, it's going to last longer than the dead fan that it will replace. :)

The fan is also not an exact match. 0.15 vs 0.22A, and the blades are a bit... deeper? taller? The fan reaches a bit closer to the heatsink, but does not touch it.

I did not bother to compare RPM or CFM, it's going to blow air across the fins. But I don't want to be quoted as saying this is an exact replacement.
