Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is a high performance CPU cooler for Intel and AMD. The heatsink features 6 heatpipes and 42 fins for efficient heat dissipation. Thanks to the vibration absorption the fan is whisper-quiet even at full load.

  • newegg Efficient Cooling Featuring a 92 mm PWM fan and 6 heatpipes, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 offers performance far beyond stock coolers and achieves 130 Watts cooling capacity. The unique heatsink design consists of 42 fins, which significantly enhances the heat dissipation performance.
  • newegg Minimum of Noise Due to the low noise impeller and the fan holder, the 92 mm fan of the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 generates only 0.8 Sone at 2,500 rpm, which is extremely quiet for such performance. Controlled by PWM signal, the fan runs just the necessary speed at lowest noise level for maximum cooling capacity.
  • newegg Easy Installation The unique mounting system via push pins offers excellent stability and is applicable within a few seconds. The pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound makes the installation a quick and clean process.
  • newegg Wide Compatibility With the flexible mounting design, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is compatible with Intel Socket 1366, 1156, 1155 and 775 as well as AMD Socket AM3, AM2+, AM2, 939 and 754.

2 out of 5 eggsFan doesn't work

Pros: I can't even boot with it due to the broken fan it came with, so none.

Cons: Came with non working fan.
Bad install instructions
Might be too large for some cases.

Other Thoughts: I'm editing this review after I was able to fix the fan. It has to be taken off the heatsink, and then the fan has to be pressed onto the bearing so it snaps in, and then it works. I found the fix in a comment to a youtube video, after Arctic support never responded. I'm adding an extra egg because it works and is quiet but the fact that it shipped with a broken fan, and the clips don't really fit an AMD CPU very well are still a problem.
This would probably be a good cooler, if it had a working fan. Too bad it doesn't, because my bios won't let me boot without one. Back to the stock cooler until I buy another fan. Also, the instructions to install are practically useless, pictures only, no words at all. And if you're installing this on an AMD chip, you feel like you're going to crush the CPU with the amount of pressure you have to apply while screwing this in.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly cool

Pros: cheap
looks great
keeps my cpu practically frozen

Cons: I'm sure that intel installations are easier, but I had to really push this thing down to install it on both sides of the cpu holder. It's not worth knocking off an egg as I'm sure my mobo was to blame as it didnt have 3 plastic clips to hold it down and then screw it in, my mobo only had one in the center.

Other Thoughts: I don't understand the ice magic this thing uses to keep my cpu cool.

1 out of 5 eggsExtremely Uncool

Pros: It spins upon boot?

Cons: Right from the start, there is a very noticeable wobble in the fan. It's a new system I'm building, and I've not yet loaded the OS. So the fan is under very light load. If there's a wobble now, I'm concerned about what might happen when that fan speeds up under load. I can try to 'unhook' and 'rehook' it to the cooling fins if I take out the videocard, perhaps, but tugging on a device where the fins are pasted (I used the thermal paste from Arctic - maybe shoulda used the most popular silver paste - we'll see) directly to the CPU might not be such a good idea, as it takes some force to hook and unhook the fan from the fins. Of note perhaps - the housing that surrounds the fan has somewhat flexible rubber pieces at the four corners that act a bit like shock absorbers. That makes me wonder if the problem really is an internal problem producing this wobble. Wish me luck. Get a known cooling fan like Cooler Master and you won't need such luck.

Other Thoughts: Nope.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to install and effective at reducing CPU temperatures.

Pros: Easy to install, Compact, Quiet, Affordable, Effective for reducing CPU Temps

Cons: Not the best solution for over clocking

Other Thoughts: For someone that wants a compact easy to install solution to cool off a hot CPU like the i7 4770k/4790k at stock or near stock speeds and does not want the hassle or burden of installing the typical enthusiast over clocking CPU cooler this is a great solution. If you are someone looking to truely push your CPU then this cooler will not be enough. For example I have a 4770k and this cooler work fine taking all four cores to 4 Gz but anything much over that will require a different most likely larger cooler. For instance on a Corsair H100 I was able to hit 4.5 while keeping full load temps under 55 but got sick of the noise and bought this.

5 out of 5 eggsFan failure after almost 10 years.

Pros: Worked great for almost 10 years.

Cons: Bought in 2008 and the fan just failed. It is a con but can I really complain about a CPU cooler being on almost 24/7 for failing after almost 10 years? Not really, but it is a con. ;-)

Other Thoughts: Little bit of a pain to install when it was put in. I still remember my cut knuckles.

5 out of 5 eggsThis Fan Delivers....

Pros: Very quiet, and brings CPU temp down by 25 degrees

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had bought this not-so-lil' guy to replace a competitors fan that was sending my Quadcore 9750B temp up to 70 deg C. This thing brought the temp down to 40 degs without half trying...and cost $15 less than the competitor's fan. And is a darn sight quieter. I will now buy Arctic Pro only for all my future CPU needs...For the noise level and the cooling power, this is probably the best fan for the money.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works when I first bought it.

Cons: Stop working after 8 months. No exchange from Newegg but they told me I should call the company since it has a 6 year warranty. I'll call them hopefully they send me a new one as a spare as I don't have time to wait around for them to send me a new one. I have work to do. So I'll be buying another one from Newegg hopefully last one was the only one that end up being a dud. Annoying but I guess sometimes it happens.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall size big cool

Pros: This cooler is awesome. It dropped my CPU temp by 40% both at idle and at load. I needed a small cooler to fit in a midtower case and this fit the bill perfectly.
