Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is a high performance CPU cooler for Intel and AMD. The heatsink features 6 heatpipes and 42 fins for efficient heat dissipation. Thanks to the vibration absorption the fan is whisper-quiet even at full load.

  • newegg Efficient Cooling Featuring a 92 mm PWM fan and 6 heatpipes, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 offers performance far beyond stock coolers and achieves 130 Watts cooling capacity. The unique heatsink design consists of 42 fins, which significantly enhances the heat dissipation performance.
  • newegg Minimum of Noise Due to the low noise impeller and the fan holder, the 92 mm fan of the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 generates only 0.8 Sone at 2,500 rpm, which is extremely quiet for such performance. Controlled by PWM signal, the fan runs just the necessary speed at lowest noise level for maximum cooling capacity.
  • newegg Easy Installation The unique mounting system via push pins offers excellent stability and is applicable within a few seconds. The pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound makes the installation a quick and clean process.
  • newegg Wide Compatibility With the flexible mounting design, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is compatible with Intel Socket 1366, 1156, 1155 and 775 as well as AMD Socket AM3, AM2+, AM2, 939 and 754.

1 out of 5 eggsBad Fan

Pros: Excellent sink with 3 double copper pipes, excellent mounting

Cons: Really bad fan. Fan doesn't start most of the times. Only if you set it in BIOS/UEFI at 100% for all CPU temperatures.
Cannot set 'smart fan' to get quiet system.

Other Thoughts: At 100% fan speed is not quiet, and doesn't even do a good job cooling. When running at 100%, speed fluctuates. Probably a bad fan. To start it, you may need to knock it.

3 out of 5 eggsFan stopped working

Pros: The cooler provided excellent cooling while it still worked.

Cons: I have been using this cooler for less than 6 months, and i noticed that the fan stopped spinning. I didnt think it was a big deal so I opened my case and checked if everything was plugged in properly, which it was, so i decided to put it on another fan header and still had no luck.

5 out of 5 eggsfitting

Pros: quiet

Cons: putting it on can be a challenge if you have a M4A87TD EVO (AM3) as it will not fit with 4 sticks of RAM. I had to return mine for that reason.

3 out of 5 eggsjust so-so

Pros: shipped fast, will not budge once installed; amd or intel compatible

Cons: Absolute pain to install on the dragon MSI 970 board; only lowered temp by 4 degrees (idle).

Other Thoughts: Price and PITA installation are not worth a sorry 4 degrees

5 out of 5 eggsSeems like a very great deal

Pros: -It can cool an AMD phenom II X4 965 BE at 4 .6 GHz with a raging 1.65 volts flowing through it without it breaking 60C!
-Dirt cheap for a good heat sink.
-Quiet

Cons: -the fan is now making no sense and claims to be spinning at 30000-80000 RPM in the BIOS, that for certain is false.

Other Thoughts: While Its fan may be misbehaving it still pushes a fair amount of air very quietly, and with some strips of paper the air can easily be forced more effectively though the fins.

5 out of 5 eggsWow

Pros: I have an intel i5 4690 on my new Gigabyte motherboard that needed a better cooling solution than the stock cpu cooler. The Arctic Freezer was very easy to install and immediately dropped my idle temps from 39c to 30c and my load temps from 68c to 45c...and this is just right after installing the cooler. The thermal paste on the cooler has yet to set! I can only imagine the temps will drop even more after around 200 hours of burn in time.
My order came very fast from Newegg as usual.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsThis Fan Delivers....

Pros: Very quiet, and brings CPU temp down by 25 degrees

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I had bought this not-so-lil' guy to replace a competitors fan that was sending my Quadcore 9750B temp up to 70 deg C. This thing brought the temp down to 40 degs without half trying...and cost $15 less than the competitor's fan. And is a darn sight quieter. I will now buy Arctic Pro only for all my future CPU needs..

2 out of 5 eggsProbably Don't Buy

Pros: Bought this cpu fan to replace the really loud stock fan on my AMD 8320 CPU. This fan is much quieter except for the extremely high pitched whine. It drives me and the dogs crazy. It keeps the CPU cool, but don't buy it if you can hear high frequencies (If you're deaf, go ahead)

Cons: Really annoying high pitched whine.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy install, works great (Socket 1336)

Pros: Easy installation, much better than stock cooler.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I have had my Socket 1366 (ASRock x58 Supercomputer/Core i7 920 CPU) system for six years and it has been great, but the stock cooler has been giving up the ghost. I noticed about six months ago I was idling around 65 Celsius, and recently I've been in the 90s when busy. So I knew I'd need a new cooler. Problem is last time I tried one I nearly broke the mobo because I could not get the bolts to latch in the four mount holes around the socket. Needless to say, even though I've been building computers since the 90's processor cooler installation is always my least favorite part. Maybe my hands shake too much. Maybe I just haven't had the best luck with it. Either way I usually hate it.

This cooler is the easiest I have ever used. There's literally only two screws you have to bolt down, the rest of it are plastic bolts to put in. Thermal paste is included on the cooler and many want to clean it off and provide better paste or different brand, I used the paste that is applied. Now that it is installed I idle at or around 40 Celsius and peak just below 50 Celsius. Quick, inexpensive, easy fix. Took me less than 45 minutes to remove old stock cooler, remove old thermal paste from CPU, and install new cooler.
