Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is a high performance CPU cooler for Intel and AMD. The heatsink features 6 heatpipes and 42 fins for efficient heat dissipation. Thanks to the vibration absorption the fan is whisper-quiet even at full load.

  • newegg Efficient Cooling Featuring a 92 mm PWM fan and 6 heatpipes, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 offers performance far beyond stock coolers and achieves 130 Watts cooling capacity. The unique heatsink design consists of 42 fins, which significantly enhances the heat dissipation performance.
  • newegg Minimum of Noise Due to the low noise impeller and the fan holder, the 92 mm fan of the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 generates only 0.8 Sone at 2,500 rpm, which is extremely quiet for such performance. Controlled by PWM signal, the fan runs just the necessary speed at lowest noise level for maximum cooling capacity.
  • newegg Easy Installation The unique mounting system via push pins offers excellent stability and is applicable within a few seconds. The pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound makes the installation a quick and clean process.
  • newegg Wide Compatibility With the flexible mounting design, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is compatible with Intel Socket 1366, 1156, 1155 and 775 as well as AMD Socket AM3, AM2+, AM2, 939 and 754.

5 out of 5 eggsSmall and Effective

Pros: Extremly Easy Install, pretty quiet fan, still fits 1366 socket chips, $20. Cant beat that price.

Cons: Nothing yet.

Other Thoughts: Grabbed this for my i7-920 because i upgraded to the new hasewell 4770k and wanted to use my old rig for a HTPC/gamming system. Since i kept my custom water cooling loop for the new rig i need this little guy and was pleasantly surprised. Keeps my 17-920 @ 3.3ghz at 32idle and 65load. which is amazing to me. Cant run it at 4.4ghz anymore but wasent expecting to. In all very effective for the low price.

1 out of 5 eggsNot for AMD

Pros: big, probably works great on Intel chips

Cons: Does not sufficiently cool AM3 chips. The contact surface does not even come close to covering the face of the chip. I had inconsistent core issues with this cooler.

Other Thoughts: AMD Phenom II X4

4 out of 5 eggsGood Cooler with 2 issues

Pros: Quiet, Cheap, CPU Idle Temp 35c, Arctic Cooling is a reliable brand

Cons: I get an error message at boot-up indicating that the CPU fan is not detected and have to press F1 to continue. I have AMD Vishera CPU with an Asus MB. I fixed this by setting the Fan speed to Turbo in the BIOS. The default fan speed is to slow to be detected. Other reviews indicate this is problem with Intel MB's also.

Other Thoughts: AMD installation - The 2 side pieces that attach to the heatsink mounting plate must be screw$d on. The instructions show you how to attach with a mboard outside of case. Their method seemed impossible with an installed mboard, However, I was able to install in less than 1 minute. I loosely screw$d on the side pieces (to the last outer screw hole) first before attaching to the mounting plate. After attaching to the mounting plate, I did not tighten the screws completely. The connection seems extremely tight. I am still worried that the CPU may become damaged in the future because it is so tight. Other heatsinks that I have screw$d down, were designed to prevent over-tightening.

5 out of 5 eggsLasted 9 years

Cons: The fan finally started growling after 9 years of continuous use.

Other Thoughts: Great cooler for $20. The Q6600 at stock speed.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Satisfied

Pros: Sooooo quiet. Good cooling power. Fairly straight forward installation.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Had to pull out mobo from case to install on a AM3+ socket. It almost seems like the assembly kit the cooler comes with won't fit or work they way it shows on the instructions, but it does.

Definitely not tool less (i know it's not advertised as tool less)...so make sure you have your mobo out before you install.

5 out of 5 eggsReplaced AM3+ CPU Stock Heat Sink

Pros: I had to remove AMD stock heat sink on a AMD FX-4350 Vishera 4.2GHz. Because it was over heating even with out any tweaks from the bios, so I decided to purchase this and its just perfect! Its silent, cooled, easy install and great price.

Cons: None.

4 out of 5 eggsGood fan once you fix one little issue

Pros: It's a good fan that keeps my CPU cool. It idles at 33 C and stays low around 45 to 55 when I'm gaming.

Cons: For six months I had this dang thing running in my PC and occasionally it would just stop spinning and then restart randomly without any patterns. I thought automatic fan control in the BIOS was responsible but then I saw that sometimes the fan would stop running while I was gaming and my CPU temp. would skyrocket. I searched online and found that by mistake at the factory some of fans hadn't been pushed in all the way into the motor. I pulled the fan out of my case and saw this was the problem. I pushed the fan in all the way and now it works perfectly.

Other Thoughts: If you do buy this fan make sure that you check that it is pushed in all the way into the motor.
