Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is a high performance CPU cooler for Intel and AMD. The heatsink features 6 heatpipes and 42 fins for efficient heat dissipation. Thanks to the vibration absorption the fan is whisper-quiet even at full load.

  • newegg Efficient Cooling Featuring a 92 mm PWM fan and 6 heatpipes, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 offers performance far beyond stock coolers and achieves 130 Watts cooling capacity. The unique heatsink design consists of 42 fins, which significantly enhances the heat dissipation performance.
  • newegg Minimum of Noise Due to the low noise impeller and the fan holder, the 92 mm fan of the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 generates only 0.8 Sone at 2,500 rpm, which is extremely quiet for such performance. Controlled by PWM signal, the fan runs just the necessary speed at lowest noise level for maximum cooling capacity.
  • newegg Easy Installation The unique mounting system via push pins offers excellent stability and is applicable within a few seconds. The pre-applied ARCTIC MX-2 thermal compound makes the installation a quick and clean process.
  • newegg Wide Compatibility With the flexible mounting design, the Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is compatible with Intel Socket 1366, 1156, 1155 and 775 as well as AMD Socket AM3, AM2+, AM2, 939 and 754.

4 out of 5 eggsIt's OK

Pros: It does a decent job of cooling and is pretty small. Not very loud, and if you're running a low TDP CPU, it can potentially be used as passive cooling if you have the right case ventilation. The cables are also well sleeved except for the ends.

Cons: For just 2 dollars more, you can buy the Hyper 212 EVO, which is MUCH better at cooling high TDP CPUs. If you're running an FX 6 or 8, forget about this. This is barely better than stock cooling. Also, the grill on the fan breaks VERY easily.

Other Thoughts: If your size is limited, then this is the cooler for you. However, if you're really looking for an excellent aftermarket cooler, and you don't mind a very large heatsink, get the 212 EVO.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks good, But you get what you pay for

Pros: Keeps my ol' i7 930 OC at a decent 55C at idle and 75 on prime95
Almost silent! My hard Drive is the loudest thing in my PC now.

Cons: Fan mounting bracket broke when trying to re-install it after the heat sink install. Didn't use much force when it broke.

Other Thoughts: I know it a cheap cooler, but with a claimed 6 year warranty you'd think they would want the quality to be better so it doesn't bite them in the buttocks.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks great when fixed

Pros: Good price
Good cooling(when functioning)
Mounts to both CPU brands

Cons: Bad QC-Fan was not properly assembled. Had to press the plastic fan fully onto the motor to make it fuction properly. If this is not done, PC will not detect it and fan will stop working all together.

Mount is a little sketchy as you must attach with brackets and screws(AMD) and have the paste be centered with the CPU at the same time.

Other Thoughts: Not too happy with Arctic's QC on the fans. I found the fix on a forum and saved my self $50 by not using tech support.

5 out of 5 eggsGoing strong @ 15 months

Pros: Relatively easy to install in the 'not that easy' world of Intel CPU heat sinks. Runs quiet. Suitable for a mild overclock. Doesn't take up half the case and get near the side panel like many 120/140 cm fan/heat sinks will do.

Cons: I tweaked up a 4770K 400mhz to 4ghz w/no voltage increase, but I think that this cooler would be overtaxed with much more.

Other Thoughts: This is a step up from a stock cooler and good for mild overclocks. I also like it because it isn't so darn big.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Good

Pros: It cooled a tiny bit better than stock cooler on i5 4690.

Cons: I already wrote a 5 star review for this product...so this is my revised one. I noticed small specks of a liquid-looking substance on my motherboard and other parts of my computer while installing some new fans. I could not for the life of me understand what this could be. Did I accidentally drop (somehow) liquid in my computer while installing something or what? I took the fan off of the arctic cooler and examined it...and discovered one side of the fan was coated in some form of liquid...it was this that was being flung throughout my computer when the fan spun during operation. My guess is that the lubricant escaped from the fan somehow. This is not good as you can imagine.
I took the whole cooler out and found small specks of lubricant all over my motherboard and ram. It's a miracle my computer has not fried because of this. I must have a Guardian Angel.
I spend lots of money on my computer. I'm not wealthy either...so this is very irresponsible of Arctic. Very!!!

I will NEVER AGAIN order anything from Arctic.

An inexpensive cpu cooler could have ruined over a thousand dollars worth of hardware.

2 out of 5 eggsBought two, one was DOA

Pros: Quiet, easy enough to install, good cooling.

Cons: One was DOA, and was out of the Newegg return/RMA window. Contacted Arctic customer service, and they were responsive, but not much help.

Other Thoughts: Working with Arctic on the warranty was OK, except I finally gave up after sending pictures, screenshots of the bios, etc.

I ended up taking the DOA fan off and installing it in place of the working Freezer 7 fan. DOA one did not work, the first worked fine. Seems proof enough that it is DOA. Arctic wanted me to reinstall the cooler and adjust the BIOS fan settings. Seems to me that installing it in place of a working twin and having it not work ends the discussion, but it did not.

Not worth me investing any more time for a $25 part.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Easy Installation, it came with thermal compound, easy to follow instructions, did not have to motherboard out of case.

Cons: FAN was not constant... most of the time it ran between 2027 rpm and 2045 rpm and drop to 30 rpm for no reason, this is a very big no no..as this could fry a CPU if left overnight :( Some times the fan would not move unless you touched it to make it move.

i put this 150W rated heat sink and fan on a 95w Intel XEON CPU and it could not keep it cool and i do not overclock this system. I am very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: It looked Awesome putting it in and looking at, however the looks alone will not protect my CPU from heat, for which it was designed.

My system: GA-X48T-DQ6 (F6 Bios Version)

My CPU: Intel XEON X3320 2.5 GHz Family 6 Model 7
Stepping 7 Ext. Model 7 Revision M1

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied!

Pros: Works great, keep the cpu cool and a LOT less noise than stock fan.

Cons: I had a little bit of trouble with mounting the actual bracket to my socket. It ended up flush so it wasn't that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: Great product, I would buy again if I wasn't building a liquid cooled machine.

1 out of 5 eggsStarted flinging lube

Pros: Was cheap and effective at cooling

Cons: Started noticing smears of lubricant all over my other components. Guess the fan bearing oil is getting flung out. Hope it's not conductive. Time to buy a different brand.

Don't get this fan if you mount it horizontal and run it at 100% speed.
