5 out of 5 eggsWay better than Stock

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: - I've been using this to OC my i7-2600K to 4.0Ghz since 2012. Idle at 34 - 36C and I've never had a problem with it.
- Price point

Cons: Depending on orientation it gets in the way of my RAM.

Other Thoughts: For $20 I'd put this in any build it would fit in.

5 out of 5 eggsYou know why this thing is silent? It handles normal load in passive mode!

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Works with Skylake, Light. Quiet. Cools well. Easy installation. Comes with one of the best thermal compounds in the market preapplied.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Many people report idle CPU temps in 30-40C range. You know why? This thing doesn't bother to turn on fan at these CPU temperatures and handles them as a passive cooler. I even thought mine was broken. Part of the credit goes to Intel of course for all the energy saving features in their newer processors. May be I was so much behind the technology coming from Athlon 4x to Skylake. I did some research on thermal compounds, chose one, even added it to the basket, and then found out that this cooler comes with exactly the same compound preapplied.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling, Great Price

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Old Stock AMD cooler was wearing out. idle 45-47c small load 60-63c. Needed inexpensive fan to keep running for a lil bit longer, Installed easily in 10mins. Now idle 33-35c Full Load 50-52c.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend the ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 for inexpensive, easy to install, efficient cooling.

4 out of 5 eggsArctic = reliable and consistent quality

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: + Keeps my overclocked A8-7650 around 32C under normal loads (along with arctic silver, didn't try the included paste)

+ extremely quiet

Cons: - covers one ram slot just enough on my GIGABYTE GA-F2A88X-D3HP ATX board to prevent a chip with a heatsink from going in.

- AMD installation is a touch more aggravating than I remember it being with previous heatsinks of theirs, but not so difficult as to cause any real issue. -1 egg just for it being 2016 and the manufacturer not coming up with a better method.

- tall enough to possibly be an issue with thinner cases.

Other Thoughts: Haven't had a bad Arctic product yet.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Product! Easy to install and use

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Easy to install
Thermal paste layer applied from factory
Huge fan with heatsink gets rid of a lot of heat, OC from 2.4Ghz to 2.7Ghz and Temps are the same
Multi-Directional

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I recommend it for motherboards that require push-pins

5 out of 5 eggsA very good budget cooler

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Small, quiet, and offers excellent cooling. Also compatable with all the of the most recent sockets from intel and amd. Easy to install on both platforms.

Cons: on the AM3+ socket there are limited angles to install the cooler compared to intel. You either have to have the cooler blowing toward the top of the case or toward the graphics card.

Other Thoughts: I have this thing on an FX6300 for a long time with a 4.3ghz overclock on all cores. It kept it at the 55c target with ease. I now have it on a intel 1231v3 and haven't seen a core temp go over 50c yet while stress testing or gaming. It is easy to install on both platforms.

4 out of 5 eggslow temps. easy to install

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: somehow my cpu temps at idle went as low as 8 c. highest while gaming was 54c (spec ops the line)

Cons: benchmarking is impossible (70c then crash)

Other Thoughts: mounting was easy.

I have a fx 8350 and was monitoring with hw info. for benching I was using cpu burner. I have 2 case fans for airflow

all around its a good cooler, but I'd spend a little more money for something like a noctua or a thermalight TS 140.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock, great value!

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Noticeably drops temps compared to stock cooler on my 960T B.E. Stock ran 36-37c idle and mid 50s under moderate load. The Arctic Freezer 7 keeps things around 32-33c at idle and I haven't been able to get past 46c under the same kinds of loads the factory cooler was seeing. Note: The stock temps are on the CPU with 2 cores unlocked, running at factory speed/voltage (3.0ghz). The Arctic temps are also with 2 cores unlocked, but I decided to bump it up to 3.2ghz

Quiet! I never realized how noisy the factory cooler actually was! This thing is near-silent! if I didn't have a monitor up, showing the fan rpm, I wouldn't even know the Arctic fan was running.

Installs easily on AM3+, once you figure it out. (see cons)

Cons: May be too big for some. the plastic edge of the fan casing just *barely* brushes up against one of my RAM heatsinks on my Biostar A880g+ If either one was 1mm wider, it wouldn't fit.

Worthless installation instructions. Fortunately, it's pretty easy to figure out

Other Thoughts: Could have been packaged better. It comes in a thin, form-fitting plastic case, which was shipped in a small plastic box with a couple of the air-pack bubbles. I can easily see the heat sink getting bent if it had been dropped or mishandled during shipping, but it arrived in good shape, so it wasn't worth listing as a Con. All's well that ends well.

If it continues to perform like this for at least the next few months, I'd consider it a great bargain. However, some other reviews have expressed concerns about longevity, so I'll be keeping an eye on it and will update as needed.

For installing on AMD processors, here's what I did: screw on both metal brackets a few turns before trying to install. Tight enough that they're not going to fall off, but loose enough that they still can be moved around. (You might want to remove the fan to make things easier, but be careful, the plastic clips that hold it to the heatsink seem stiff and possibly brittle. Maybe they're not. I was able to remove the fan from the heatsink without any trouble.) Once you get both brackets seated on the retainer, tighten both sides down. Re-attach fan.

5 out of 5 eggsCooler

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: * Easy to install.
* Great price1
* Recommended as a replacement for all stock fans that comes with AMD processors.
* Displaces air at 45 CFM.
* 6 year limited warranty.
I used these fans in my home desktops and when I do a client build. This is my go to fan when using AMD processors. It has been my experience that AMD CPUs run at a higher temperature than Intel CPUs. So if you want a great cooler and a longer life for your CPU this is the fan to buy. These fans run silent no noise output.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Great fan for the price.

4 out of 5 eggsLow Temps, Cheap Price, Cheap Plastic`

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Extremely easy installation, low temperatures achieved on 2600 (non-K)

Cons: Plastic that attaches the fan to the heat sink is (extremely) cheap. Will break under even the most moderate stress. If you take the fan off for any reason then be extremely careful when you re-attach.

Other Thoughts: At this point in its life cycle, this Freezer 7 should be purchased by those who want a cheap air cooler but cannot fit the taller 212 EVO inside of their case.
