5 out of 5 eggsARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 is really good

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: - Easy to install on Intel. Haven't tried AMD, but didn't look that complicated, just a few extra brackets.
- Very sturdy, easy to disassemble and clean.
- Keeps CPU much cooler than stock fan.

Cons: - None

Other Thoughts: I have an aging i7-2600k, had original CPU fan going for 3-4 years now. It got extremely dirty, I tried re-applying heatsink paste and cleaning it and finally got it to idle at around 45C with full load going as high as 85-90C (which is really bad). I put on this Arctic Freezer 7 Pro Rev2 fan my temps dropped to 30C idle and haven't seen it go above 45-50C on full load yet.

Good Fan, I'd recommend to others.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: - A breeze to install
- Quiet PWM fan
- Nice finish on the fan cable
- Looks better than stock cooler
- Small
- Pre-applied MX-2 thermal paste

Cons: - TDP not very high, but it is small

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a replacement of your stock CPU cooler, this is a very good product. It will fit in any case.
But if you are looking for a cheap cooler for overclocking, you should check out the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO instead.

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Fan, Quiet !

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: What a beauty, So easy to install. First, put the bracket on with the push in holders on the Mother Board then you screw the heat sink on the bracket. Easy, now the fan snaps onto the heat sink. What's great is that the heat sink has the artic paste for the CPU on and in position. Plug the fan into the MB, CPU Fan connection, and start it up.
I had first installed my NEW Intel i7 4k chip on my MSI MB with the stock fan. The CPU temperature was running between 60-70C. Not acceptable. Now with the "Artic Freezer 7 Pro Rev 2", the new fan is keeping the CPU temperature at 38-45C. A 25 to 30-degree drop in the CPU running temperature. Unbelievable drop. Hats off to Arctic.

Cons: The product is great but I wish that the Mother Board makers, the CPU makers, the Ram makers and the computer tower makers would talk and let you know the space required for these after market fans. I guess I'm dreaming.
A word to the wise. Ask around if you have questions about what products will fit. There are a lot of helpful people out there. I came to buy this fan after several people told me about space and Ram problems and how great this fan was. Everything worked out great.

Other Thoughts: I do highly recommend this fan, especially for tight space restrictions.
Five stars!!!

1 out of 5 eggsThe Great Frustration

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: It fit in the case.

Cons: The worst installation experience ever. It may be ok with an Intel, but the AMD bracket set up requires you to have 3-5 hands and infinite patience. After I got it in, I had over heating problems. I ended up just pulling it out and going back to the stock fan that makes it sound like an airplane taking off. It's loud but works much better than this.

1 out of 5 eggsCheap!

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: It almost fits my old Asus P5E-VM motherboard. Northbridge heatsink had to take a beating and get a small modification to fit this cooler. Not the cooler's fault. Just Asus making huge heatsink.

Cons: I now know why there is a CHOKING HAZARD: Small parts. Not for children under 3 years warning for this fan. A part of the fan mounting just broke off without even touching it or mishandling it. My fan is now secured with 3 out of the four whatever you call those pointy cheap rubber things that suggest noise and vibration reduction.

Other Thoughts: I would not recommend this product. Too bad it costs half the price of the product to return it or exchange it. This is the second cooler I bought in this price range with issues. You get what you pay for. Never again. Be warned.

3 out of 5 eggsKeeps my FX8300 nice and cool

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: -Very efficient cooler
-Affordable

Cons: -Difficult to install on AMD socket
-Provided instructions are not clear. I was eventually able to figure it out but even then, the method in which you connect to an AMD socket is very awkward and frustrating to say the least.

Other Thoughts: I cannot say anything negative about the cooler. Very efficient! I have a FX 8300 and while running Fallout 4 at 1080p on high settings the temp has not exceeded 70 degrees Celsius. (I could get cooler temps if I had more than 1 case fan :s)
The issue i have with the cooler is how difficult it was to install. If you are installing this on an Intel board then there would be far less frustration for you, but AMD users beware. It was a very cumbersome and awkward process.
Overall this is a great cooler for the price. Just wish it had better directions and an easier installation method for AMD CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggsWay better than Stock

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: - I've been using this to OC my i7-2600K to 4.0Ghz since 2012. Idle at 34 - 36C and I've never had a problem with it.
- Price point

Cons: Depending on orientation it gets in the way of my RAM.

Other Thoughts: For $20 I'd put this in any build it would fit in.

5 out of 5 eggsYou know why this thing is silent? It handles normal load in passive mode!

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Works with Skylake, Light. Quiet. Cools well. Easy installation. Comes with one of the best thermal compounds in the market preapplied.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Many people report idle CPU temps in 30-40C range. You know why? This thing doesn't bother to turn on fan at these CPU temperatures and handles them as a passive cooler. I even thought mine was broken. Part of the credit goes to Intel of course for all the energy saving features in their newer processors. May be I was so much behind the technology coming from Athlon 4x to Skylake. I did some research on thermal compounds, chose one, even added it to the basket, and then found out that this cooler comes with exactly the same compound preapplied.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooling, Great Price

This review is from: ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2, CPU Cooler - Intel & AMD, Multi-Directional Mount, 92mm PWM Fan

Pros: Old Stock AMD cooler was wearing out. idle 45-47c small load 60-63c. Needed inexpensive fan to keep running for a lil bit longer, Installed easily in 10mins. Now idle 33-35c Full Load 50-52c.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Highly recommend the ARCTIC Freezer 7 Pro Rev. 2 for inexpensive, easy to install, efficient cooling.
