3 out of 5 eggsupdate...

Pros: All my points from the first review stand ...

Cons: The little 'tabs' on the chrome filters that hold the filter frame on the unit are very easy to break. Are the filter grills available for separate purchase for replacement ? Also, After some digging I found 3 pin 60mm x 60 x 13 fans for $3.56 (total) each that move 24.6 CFM not 11.5 CFM like these do.

Other Thoughts: great idea, but needs improvement.

4 out of 5 eggsmoves enough, but not lots

Pros: Great idea, good looks, easy clean filter, good price, very high quality construction, good kit, quality fans (but 2 wire!!) ... at $13+$4SH = buy 2 ... get 3 wire 60mm x2 fans elsewhere and upgrade it, but more $$

Cons: 2 wire power not 3 wire PWM(PMW) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... ARG !

Other Thoughts: can hold 2 x 3.5" or 4 x 2.5" easy ...

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: Moves a decent amount of air, good construction, easy installation and filters are easily removable.

Cons: Filter covers are gaudy looking and they restrict a bit too much air flow then should be allowed in the design.

Other Thoughts: There are two fans attached to this assembly. This device takes up two 5.25" bays, it is not two separate parts. I am using it as a system cooler not as a hard drive cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat air-flow solution

Pros: I've been using this for over a year now and it's survived my filthy environment along with repetitive cleaning.

It allows a really effective positive air-flow into the case so the common negative air-flow doesn't litter my optical drives with dust bunnies.

Cons: It would be nice if the screen were easier to remove.

Other Thoughts: As with all case mods some mechanical skills are needed ;^)

I had to disassemble the unit, use a sanding disc on my Dremel to remove the screen, and shave a bit off the sides to get my desired fit. But after that and a thin coat of model car paint I had a great, VERY EFFICIENT, case mod.

5 out of 5 eggsStill working strong.

Pros: Pulls air in from the front of the case, solid build quality, quiet.

Cons: I didn't bother to use fan covers as they seem to impede airflow quite a bit.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat quality and easy to beautify

Pros: Silent, pushes a decent amount of air, CHEAP, seems high quality for the price.

Cons: Ugly. *See Other Thoughts*

Other Thoughts: I got creative and bought some black acrylic paint and a brush for < $2, and proceeded to rid the grills of their ugly chrome finish, and turn them into a nice Raven black. Matches my Antec 100 case perfectly.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks!!

Pros: Works as a system cooler. Haven't tried it as a HD cooler. Comes with all the hardware you will need. And for the price its a good buy.

Cons: Manufacturer needs to re-tool this product. Cools better without fan grills. About ten degrees fahrenhiet better. Exposes the fans and looks even worse without the grills. For a few extra dollars you can re-tool it yourself. see next comment!

Other Thoughts: A little double sided tape, two 60mm fan grills and some black paint and you can make this product HOT!!!! Improves air flow and improves looks, and keeps little fingers out of the way of fan operation! (if you have that problem). I tried uploading a picture, hope it worked! Newegg rocks!

4 out of 5 eggsUgly but it works

Pros: --I am using it as a system cooler. I had two extra optical bays and temperature problems. These fans dropped my idel system temperature only 2 C. BUT I do not get the high temperature spikes during heavy loading. Very pleased with that.

Cons: --UGLY. The front grill is removable, but exposes the fans... even more ugly!

Other Thoughts: --I have not used this as a HD cooler. The kit does include the mounting hardware to mount your HDs in the optical bays.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks, dropped temp by 3*c

Pros: Fits like a charm on my cheap Rosewell screwless case. I actually didn't need this to cool my HDs as they are located right behind my front 120mm fan which is already pulling gobs of cool air over/under them. I wanted this to push air directly over my RAM to my 9700NT cooler which worked exactly as I assumed it would.

Cons: I already knew this as it obviously shows in the pictures, but the chrome colored filter frames gotta go. A black color option would have been nice but I'm not gonna deduct a star because of it. Oh and the filters do reduce airflow quite a bit but honestly it's nothing to cry about, if it's a problem then it's fairly easy to create your own filters from scratch with larger mesh.

Other Thoughts: I would definitely buy these again! ATM, I'm in the process of making my own mesh for these as I do grow exhausted of looking at the chrome on my comp and taking off the chrome filters I can see all the chilled parts inside my comp which is 10x better than the chrome pieces.
