With today's processors requiring more and more power, a good heatsink is a necessity. The RCX-Z2 from Rosewill will provide all the cooling you'll need. Designed for all Intel based socket 775 processors, the RCX-Z2 is great for dissipating heat on even the most demanding CPUs. Using new heatpipe technology, the RCX-Z2 has an aluminum based 52 fine-fin heatsink along with a copper base.
Also attached are three heatpipes at the base which allow for increased heat transfer. It's topped off with a huge 80mm fan that will run up to 3400rpm, and while running at the fastest speed, will remain very quiet due to the design of the reverse ball bearing fan. And for those into the modding experience, the fan has blue LED lights at the top, to show off your really "cool" new fan!
Pros: I have a Kentsfield quad-core 6800 processor and it idles between 30-33C.
It's easy to install, comes with its own silicon thermal grease. The fan moves pretty fast and heat dissipation is pretty good with that and the heat sink.
Plus, everyone loves blue LEDs! ...right?
Cons: Well, I don't have too much experience with CPU coolers, and frankly I'm not sure if a water cooler would do better or not. However I would say that this may not be exactly the most powerful cooler on the market for price. I however, am satisfied for now.

Pros: The unit is small so it fit in a very compact case. It was easy to install, only took about 4 minutes to pop into place and secure. Keeps the C2D reasonably cool. As well as can be expected. This particular PC has an E6400 overclocked to 3.04 ghz and the CPU/heatsink combo doesn't have any trouble keeping it at 30c idle / 55c load.
Cons: The blue LED is dorky looking, but of course, that's a matter of personal taste.
Other Thoughts: This is the fan to get if you have a compact case and want a simple installation.

Good Value Cooler

Pros: Good cooler for the price, it keeps my Intel q9550 37c idle, and @ 3.566GHz under load it runs about 55c. I'm using Wakefield thermal paste, and I'm very happy with this cooling solution.
Cons: It has plastic pins. The plastic fasteners are a bear with any flat-head screw driver, but they do fasten down tight enough.
Other Thoughts: Blue L.E.D's are a nice touch as well.
80mm ball bearing reverse silent cooler, perform well at low noise, min=17dB only. Supporting PWM up to CFM 44.264 and 3.19 mm H20. New heatpipe technology with 52 fine-fin aluminium heatsink, copper base and three copper heatpipes. Special design of 4 bright blue LED setting on the cooler core
