With today's processors requiring more and more power, a good heatsink is a necessity. The RCX-Z2 from Rosewill will provide all the cooling you'll need. Designed for all Intel based socket 775 processors, the RCX-Z2 is great for dissipating heat on even the most demanding CPUs. Using new heatpipe technology, the RCX-Z2 has an aluminum based 52 fine-fin heatsink along with a copper base.

Also attached are three heatpipes at the base which allow for increased heat transfer. It's topped off with a huge 80mm fan that will run up to 3400rpm, and while running at the fastest speed, will remain very quiet due to the design of the reverse ball bearing fan. And for those into the modding experience, the fan has blue LED lights at the top, to show off your really "cool" new fan!

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance Three high performance heatpipes maximize heat transfer to push cooling performance to the next level.
  • newegg Pure Copper Base A pure copper base maximizes heat absorption and transfer for excellent cooling.
  • newegg 4 Blue Fan LEDs Four blue LEDs provide brilliant illumination while the fan is in operation for eye-catching fun.
  • newegg Compatible with LGA 775 Compatible with the LGA 775 platform, the Rosewill RCX-Z2 supports a wide range of Celeron, Celeron D, Pentium 4, Pentium D, Pentium Extreme Edition as well as the latest Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Extreme CPUs.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprised

Pros: Works Shockingly well
Temps dropped by about 10-15c

Cons: None so far, but I wont hesitate to come update this review if anything goes gross.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical at first, had a friend tell me this and that about Rosewill products. He seems to insist they are a generic brand, but this product shut him right up. I myself havent had any issues with Rosewill , I actually own about 3 or 4 Rosewill products around the house.

5 out of 5 eggsVery satisfied

Pros: Works much better than the stock heat sink. It brought the temp down from 51c to 34c on an intel lga 775 socket e6850 3.0 GHz processor. This is a great way to bring your temp down without spending a lot.

Cons: Fan's lowest speed was a little loud. This wasn't a problem for me because all the other fans in my case were louder anyway.

5 out of 5 eggsCools very well and looks awesome.

Pros: Makes my PC between 3 and 5 degrees cooler. Lights look very nice too.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You have to take the motherboard off in order for the pins to fit!!! This is only if you're replacing a stock cooler that had a backing plate with screw holes. This will not fit in the screw holes!!!

1 out of 5 eggsPush pins didn't even fit.

Pros: None. Couldn't even turn it on to know.

Cons: These stupid plastic pushpins wouldn't even mount into my LGA775 socket like it said it would. Even if I were to get them in there, it didn't look like it was even going to touch my processor to cool it. There would still be a gap. I don't understand why everyone else had a breeze putting it in. I have a microMotherboard...maybe that's why? Probably not.

Other Thoughts: Took forever to ship too, even with rush processing. It arrived a day after the 4-7 day mark, which was a pain.

5 out of 5 eggsCools Great

Pros: This thing cools the CPU great - I have yet to see a CPU temp on my Xeon Yorkfield over 40 degrees C (per my motherboard software). I sort of like the blue light...

Cons: It is loud at full speed. However, I keep it running around 800 rpm's and at that speed it isn't bad at all.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking at this CPU cooler go for it. Just be sure that your motherboard can turn it down or use a separate switch. It doesn't have to spin at full speed to be effective.

3 out of 5 eggsEffective but deafening

Pros: It does what it says. My computer ran cooler with it than stock and the blue LED is nice.

Cons: Noisy. This thing sounds like a jet engine screaming at me. Is so noisy that with every other fan off in my case I cant tell the difference. It occasionally gives me a headache which is why its being replaced with a watercooler.

Other Thoughts: Great for the price. If you can take the noise then its great cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat legacy CPU cooler

Pros: For my money, this is the best low-profile LGA 775 cooler available. None of the others have copper components at all, much less a very efficient heatpipe design. This cooler took my CPU from 90C (stock cooler wasn't running efficiently anymore) to 42C under max load.

Cons: I don't like LEDs in my case, but for as good as this cooler has worked, I don't care.

FYI, the blue LEDs do look nice - I just prefer non-LED components.

3 out of 5 eggsGood cool but LOUD

Pros: easy to install; good cooling; fairly silent when CPU idling.

Cons: LOUD when CPU under load; sounds like a plane taking off

Other Thoughts: fan ok when CPU idling; under load fan begins to rev up from 1200 rpm to 2000 to 3000 VERY LOUD

5 out of 5 eggsGood cooler

Pros: Easiest after-market cooler install I've ever done. No need to remove the motherboard from the case. Instant temperature reductions for Core2 6750, immediate reduction in temps by 10 degrees at idle and 15 degrees load, and this will get better over the next week as the Arctic Silver 5 breaks in--it comes with its own little tube of heat compound, but as I always keep some Arctic Silver on hand there was no need for it.

Cons: The plastic surface protecting film left some goo behind on the face of the heatsink that had to be carefully cleaned away. The only other negative is that the fan is a bit loud, louder than other after-market coolers I've installed.

Other Thoughts: Better performance than I was expecting...a welcome surprise. Although it's louder than the Cooler Master V8 in my own system, the cooling seems almost as good, and the install was much faster and easier.
