5 out of 5 eggsWhat more can you ask for?

Pros: Installed very easily. It came with its own thermal paste pre-applied. It was also well-protected to ensure the paste didn't dry out.

A nice benefit I didn't notice was that they included an actual fan controller for the CPU fan. It actually works perfectly, and is able to directly control the fan for the CPU.

I'll have to buy another one for the eventual failure of this one. It's a heck of a steal, that's for sure!

Cons: None! Seriously, there aren't any.

Other Thoughts: I wish the fan controller could control more than the CPU fan... at least you can use it for other fans if you don't really need it for the CPU if your motherboard is fully capable of controlling the fan itself!

5 out of 5 eggsIt takes the heat

Pros: Large heatsink, clears memory and other cards, big fan for good airflow at lower rpm

Cons: Looks like you can only set it up with the manual speed control. The plug doesn't fit the motherboard's 4 pin to allow the bios to control fan speed.

Other Thoughts: This fan looks like a good quality unit. It is a lot quieter at full rpm then I was expecting. I set it at near max rpm and it does the job under all load conditions. About 43-47 C

2 out of 5 eggsFan Controller is Defective

Pros: 1. Great price. Paid about $10 ~ $13 when I purchased it.
2. Excellent quality for what it's worth. It works fantastically and very quietly if it is equipped with a proper fan controller

Cons: 1. The bundled fan controller was defective out of the box and didn't work out at all.
2. The fan has 3-Pin connector which can not auto-adjust the fan speed by itself.
3. The thermal grease pre-pasted on the heatsink was low quality and eventually stuck dried on the CPU after 4 months and it eventually pulled the CPU stuck on it when I tried to take it out.

4 out of 5 eggsGood, Basic Cooler

Pros: Easy to install. Provides basic cooling for my aging AM2 setup, which is now used as an HTPC.

Cons: You'll want to make sure to use the included fan adjustment knob, as the fan is a bit loud when wired up directly to the mobo. Said knob also mounts into an expansion slot, so it's a little hard to get at if you plan to make regular adjustments to it.

Other Thoughts: My old AM2 setup recently became a HTPC, so I needed something basic to replace the stock cooler that one came with, and this one fit the bill.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfectly Cool

Pros: I have this in two of my PC's and they pass all heat measurements despite having AMD chips known for running hot. Easy to install, anti-tangle chord.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Easy Installation, good temp results, and despite some reviews here, it's actually more quiet than the old stock Socket 739 cooler I'd been listening to for years ...

Cons: might wanna lap the copper bottom plate, fan controller and wires takes up case real-estate, would've rather have had 4-pin PWM fan connection ...

Other Thoughts: About a year ago, a friend dumped a Gigabyte nForce5 board, Brisbane 5200 X2, and 1GB of RAM on me and said, "If you can solve its shut-down problems playing Facebook flash games, you can have it. Tired of dealing with it." Months pass as I saved up for a PSU and sure enough, the CPU would idle at 50c just in BIOS. It would boot my existing install of Linux Mint 13, but attempting to install Windows was too much load. Overheat alarm sound, and it shut down ...

Inspected the cooler, and it was stock socket 939 AMD cooler. For a dual-core Brisbane. Yikes, that's not gonna cut it! How the system tolerated it for 2+ years is a miracle. I put it the rig in the closet until I had the time and money to deal with it ...

Saw this cooler a month ago, read the reviews, saw how many of these Newegg sold, and figured it was worth a shot for the price and speed/easy of installation as it clips to the socket bracket. Finally got around to ordering it on a Monday, got it Thursday, and installed it around 5AM morning after the coffee kicked in. Made a heck of racket and thought I got a dud -- nope, just the wires rubbing on a case fan. Hahah! Upon hearing how quiet it was, I didn't bother installed the fan-controller ...

Entered BIOS and let it idle. Temps hovered between 18c-22c, and figured I'd venture to install Windows 7. Upon reboot, I couldn't hit F12 for my USB stick fast enough, and it started loading my existing WinXP (from the previous Gigabyte nForce4), and it didn't BSOD at all. Nor shut-down from overheating. Checked temps with AIDA32 ...

Core 0 = 36c
Core 1 = 27c
CPU Temp = 19c.

Then I tried to make it BSOD by installing the nForce 5 drivers, and sat here with my jaw in my lap as it purged, replaced, and rebooted back into XP without issue. And now that I only see the WinXP splash screen for 3 seconds, I'm loathe to format and install 7, nor put much of load on the system. I'd wager my temps hit around the low to mid 40s anyway.

Rock solid awesome cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill wins again

Pros: Easy to install, quiet, excellent airflow, fantastic value. I have them in two computers.

Cons: If the room is dead-silent you can hear it running. My 'quiet' keyboard and mouse clicking sounds five times louder though.

Other Thoughts: All my purchases from Rosewill have been excellent quality, this is no exception. There may be better out there for a premium price tag.

3 out of 5 eggsNoisy

Pros: Keeps CPU cool.

Cons: Keeps you awake. Noisy even when throttled. Went with Zalman CNPS7X instead, which is acceptably quiet at most speeds.

3 out of 5 eggsWhiny

Pros: Keeps APU cool, not at all that expensive.

Cons: Wow this thing can whine. Even using a fan controller (which is not very smart for a CPU) to throttle the speed there was still an annoying whine. Not that great a match considering the power of an A10-5800K should have an equally awesome cooler, and this is not that cooler.

Other Thoughts: Immediately replaced it with an entry-level Thermaltake water-cooling kit. No more whine, and also keeps the temps down low.
