Keep your cool with the Rosewill RCX-Z4 CPU cooling system. This high efficiency system uses a 122x160x114.5mm heat sink with a 120mm fan attached to disperse heat transferred by three 8mm heat pipes from the solid copper contact block. The kit comes with mounting hardware for Intel LGA-775 and AMD-Socket 754, 939, AM2 CPUs.

The manually controlled fan spins at 1000 rpm lifespan. The fan speed controller attaches unobtrusively to the case in an unused expansion card slot. The large size also helps to keep the noise down to a quiet 15-29.8dBA, depending on speed.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance Three high performance heatpipes maximize heat transfer to push cooling performance to the next level.
  • newegg Pure Copper Base A pure copper base maximizes heat absorption and transfer for excellent cooling.
  • newegg Ultra-quiet Amber Fan The Rosewill RCX-Z4 is equipped with a 120mm ultra-quiet amber fan with a manual fan speed control for exceptional cooling and quietness.
  • newegg Universal Socket Compatibility As an all-in-one solution for PC systems, the Rosewill RCX-Z4 features broad compatibility with all AMD socket 754, 939, AM2 and Intel LGA775 platforms.

5 out of 5 eggsStill going

Pros: Got it for my first build 7 years ago. It is still going, 7 years non stop 24 hours a day. I have upgraded almost everything except for the fan.

Keeps the computer at normal temperature.

Cons: manual speed controller only lasted 4 years. It works even without it so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: I wish they had one that would be compatible with what i am trying to build currently.

5 out of 5 eggsIt's big.

Pros: This thing is huge. I love it. Seems to do it's job pretty well. Make sure it will fit in your case. Mine is in full tower ATX.

Cons: Not a single piece of solid copper.

Other Thoughts: A pretty good cooler for the money. Got for $5 with combo deal. Excellent choice. Much better than stock. Might want to check into your own thermal.
My system:
Phenom II 550 X2 3.1ghz unlocked to X4.
4gb ddr3 1600mhz g.skill ripjaws ram.
Radeon 4830 open-box.
Asus m4a77TD open-box.
Orion XPOWER585 585w psu.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill RCX-Z4 120mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler - Retail

Pros: The cooler was offered in a bundle deal with the CPU that was too good to pass up. The large size of the fan surprised me when I opened the box but it's the quietest running CPU cooler I've owned besides being the tallest, heaviest and largest diameter cooler ever for me. Having said that, the AMD 550 idles at 28C and seldom has risen to 33C so far in normal usage. This is not overclocked - yet. A great value for the money.

Cons: Be sure to mount this so the RAM slots on the motherboard are not blocked, otherwise you might be removing it again to add/remove memory.

Other Thoughts: My first Rosewill product but I would definitely try their products again.

5 out of 5 eggs!!Follow Up!!

Pros: Ok, so I ran this with the 550 overclocked at 3.6 and it would idle around 29 and 37 while gaming in my HAF 922 to be fair.

I swapped CPU's with my wife. She now has the 550 at 3.6 with a Zalman 9700 @ 2,000rpm. Now it idles at 36 and touches 41 while gaming in her Antec P180 with both exhaust fans on high to be fair again.

Cons: The wiring for the fan controller sucks. My temps don't change whether on low or high so I'll probably end up taking it out.

The stock fan is loud.

Other Thoughts: I did end up putting a Cooler Master R4 Green on there because they push a lot of air and are quiet at 1800rpm and below.

Note that the temps did not change with the R4 fan, it's just quieter and looks cool.

Mine is nowhere near my RAM, maybe someone installed it backward?

Not sure about the 2 egg review below. Stated not for overclocking?? Obviously with my experience above it works just fine if not better than the Zalman (debatable with the case difference).

2 out of 5 eggscould be a lot better...

Pros: It cools ok...

Cons: It has a 120mm fan but the heat spreaders only cover 120mm x 90mm, so 30mm of the fan blow on nothing.

it installs funny, but goes on.

All CPU coolers should come with dust screens.

Other Thoughts: I'll be replacing mine now that I know what I'm doing I know what to look for in a cooler and this one is entry level and not for any type of over clocking.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: Keeps my Phenom II X 2 550 at 30c idle
offset so you can mount it two diff ways depending on layout of your motherboard
price

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I consider this the best cpu cooler I have had and I would never have guessed that since it was almost free lol. Temps are lower than my previous Zalman 9500.

5 out of 5 eggsAMD cooler

Pros: This is a good cooler for any platform. Works great on my Amd Phenom II x2 which I unlocked and is now an x4 running at 3.7 stable and cool. This keeps my processors temps a lot lower than the stock fans.

Cons: some people say big but it fit just fine in my regular ATX case
