Rosewill continues its commitment to being "the best choice in value" by producing CPU cooling products with high end performance without the high-end price. Part of Rosewill's "Z" series designed specifically for Intel processors, the RCX-Z300 performs comparable to higher-priced units but at a fraction of the price.

The 92mm red fan spins at speeds up to 2200 RPM allowing it to move nearly 42 CFM of cooling air. At top speed, it generates a noise level of just over 24 dBA. Its integrated PWM functionality offers great flexibility by allowing the system BIOS to monitor the fan's speed and performance. During periods of low thermal need, the computer will lower the fan's speed – and its noise level.

The heatsink portion of the RCX-Z300 consists of aluminum extrusion fins surrounding a copper base and core. These convection fins have a branching, "crotched" profile which practically doubles the amount of surface area available to diffuse the surplus heat. The RCX-Z300 will support Intel Socket LGA 775 processors including the Core 2 Extreme, -Quad, -Duo and Pentium D, -4 and Celeron D CPUs.

  • newegg Excellent Cooling Performance The Rosewill RCX-Z300 features a pure copper base and high-density aluminum fins, plus a powerful 92mm cooling fan to deliver superior cooling performance.
  • newegg PWM Function The PWM function automatically adjusts fan speeds according to the CPU temperature for efficient cooling and minimized fan noise.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill RCX-Z300 - 92mm CPU Cooler

Pros: Got it on sale. Works well on a 65 watt cpu. I have it idled down to 12% and the temp never goes past 48F. This makes it very quiet.

Cons: N

1 out of 5 eggsBought two, ended up buying two different fans.

Pros: Good Airflow
Strong Fan overall
Nice & Quiet for me

Cons: The Fan is good, its the mounting points that are terrible.
I went to dust two of my PCs with this and when almost all the pins in both of them just shattered.

Other Thoughts: I wish this fan had good mounting points, because overall it is a good piece of hardware, but it cannot be removed and one of mine even just broke loose by itself.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price.

Pros: Cheap! Better than stock Intel cooler. Seems better built and plastic retainers are sturdier. Of course as with all these Intel LGA coolers the retainers can still be frustrating to lock but, I felt like it was easier than the stock cooler.

Cons: Not the quietest cooler, but not really loud either. Noise levels were acceptable in my opinion.

1 out of 5 eggsNO GOOD FOR ME

Pros: No Pros for me

Cons: The plastic mounting pins are cheap. My son and I spent hours trying to mount this CPU fan. We were unsuccessful. Unable to mount this fan securely.
The next morning I drove to a computer store (35 minutes each way) and purchased another CPU fan which mounted easily and quickly.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great; Looks cool

Pros: Looks really cool.
Keeps the CPU cool.
Farly quiet.

Cons: You need a motherboard that allows for a medium-wide heat sink.

Other Thoughts: I put it on my Core 2 Quad (2.5 GHz quad core). I use this computer as a portable spare and for teaching technology classes.
I have not had any problems with the CPU overheating or the fan dieing.
As far as I remember, it was simple to install on the motherboard.

5 out of 5 eggsSame old same old

Pros: It's a fan. It cools a little bit better than stick, it looks a little bit better than stock, and it's cheap. The fan assembly itself comes off the heat sink so it and the block can be cleaned easily. Cord is sleeved to keep it tidy.

Cons: None really. It's simple and it does what it's supposed to.

Other Thoughts: It's been sold exactly as it is for years and years. It's a good ol' standby at this point.
