OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
Rosewill offers "the best choice in value" with its range of CPU coolers that offer high end features and performance at low end prices. The RCX-775-LX offers features found on many – more expensive – coolers. Designed specifically for Intel's Socket 775 processors, it combines multiple features into a package that performs equally as well as higher-priced units but at a fraction of the price.

A vertical stack of large dimension aluminum convection fans are supported – and penetrated by – 3 copper heatpipes which rise out of the base. The base's copper construction ensures maximum heat transference from the CPU's heatspreader. The pipes draw the heat up from the base for dispersion by the cooling fins.

The red 92mm ball bearing fan is mounted vertically along this array to blow cooling air over the fins and towards the cases' exhaust fan. Its PWM functionality lets the system's BIOS monitor the fan's speed as well as the thermal need of the CPU and adjust the fans speed lower during reduced computing cycles letting the user balance cooling performance with noise level.

This is It

Pros: Wow, if your looking for a CPU cooler to replace your stock junk or buying a New processor and don't want to blow your budget on high price coolers get this. Dropped my Core 2 2.2Ghz idle temps 10c (38c) & this is before Arctic Cool 5 sets in!
Cons: Not really a con but I had to remove the "unknown" thermal paste to put on trusty Arctic Silver.
Other Thoughts: This is a great cooler, small efficient, and you don't have to remove motherboard to install! oh yeah Price!! for anyone looking, the size of the cooler is 111mm wide x 89.5mm x 139.5mm tall weight 501 Grams.

Overlooked deal

Pros: If you are buying a ~100 dollar CPU and want overclockability look no further. This is simply the best deal on the web under 40 bucks atm. Beyond this you are looking at the 120mm monsters and they are a pita to install.
Cons: Fan housing could of been of a bit harder plastic.
Another set of heat pipes and I would put this in my main rig.
Other Thoughts: Put in the girlfriend's machine. Less noise than the stock core duo intel cooler and cools 10c better at idle and 12c at load.

Great cooler, great price!

white Reviewed By: JD on 1/26/2010

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: The price. Great cooler for the money. Scrapped off the unknown paste, put on AS-5. Overclocked my q6600 to 3.0ghz and it runs like a champ. Temps used to be 40ish on idle, highest core temp running at 2.6ghz with stock cooler. Now it runs low 30s at idle clocked at 3.0ghz and rises to roughly mid 40s while under load. Can be a little lower or higher depending on ambient temperature. Amazing! Cheapest upgrade ever for an aging computer.
Cons: Not really a con because it is not Rosewill's fault that Intel's cooler design sucks. Had to rip out the mobo so I could get everything clamped in right. Again, not Rosewill's fault so I can't knock off an egg for that.
Other Thoughts: If you're not used to putting on Intel coolers frequently, it can be a chore to get mounted properly. It is best to take the extra step and remove your motherboard. You don't need a lots of force to get it seated. If you find yourself doing this then stop! Get Arctic Silver 5 and use it instead of the paste already on the unit for best results.

Extremely Effective CPU Cooling Solution for mere "pocket change"...

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Awesome design! 6 heat pipes! WOW! Huge cooling Fan! Insanely low price! This all adds up to a fantastically huge "bang for your buck" value!
Cons: My only complaint is the plastic push-pin application. The snaps are just begging to wear out and snap off if one were to accidentally bump the heatsink while installing something in their case... (Which is why I can't give it a 5-star rating) C'mon now! When are manufacturers gonna learn that plastic parts are NOT the way to go?!
Other Thoughts: This thing is HUGE!! A lot bigger than I was expecting, and yet it still fit in my case just fine. My Intel E5200 dual core temps went from STOCK SPEEDS AT IDLE from...

50-52 C (idle STOCK SPEEDS)

TO...

38-42 C (idle OC'ed to 3 ghz!!)

I haven't seen it get any hotter than 48-49 C at full load!

A MUST-BUY for all you folks who ordered the Intel E5200 Dual Core or anything similar and are looking to squeeze some more speed out of it.
