4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: Although the details state "Socket LGA 775 ( TDP under 86W )", I use this on 120 Watt Xeon socket 771 processors (on socket 775 motherboards using the mod sticker) and this puppy performs just fine. It's good even with 20% overclocks, but obviously not much higher than that.

It keeps processors about 5-7 degrees warmer than good HSFs, but good enough for grandma or little nephew/niece's use.

Cons: Although the clips on the motherboard are better than the stock Intel one (which are garbage), after 30+ times of use (I have to test multiple processors), it starts to bend a little. This won't be a problem for most people as you simply put it on and forget it. I use it for testing.

Other Thoughts: It blows air inside the case. If you want hot air to move outside the case, buy the ones that are directional towards the back of the case.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Good Value

Pros: -Great value.
-Solidly made.
-Included fan adjusts speed to temperature.
-Fan is very quiet.

Cons: -Likely not suitable for heavy overclocks.

Other Thoughts: For such a cheap CPU cooler, this one is surprisingly well made. It feels solid and not cheap, mounts snugly to the board and the included fan is large, speed adjustable to temperature and remarkably quiet. If you're looking to overclock this probably isn't sufficient but you're also crazy buying a $10 fan for an overclocked machine anyway.

For general use, this is top shelf quality for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: - Works better than stock Core 2 Duo hsf, and almost same size
- Comes with thermal compound applied to the heatsink
- The plastic fasteners seem to install with less effort than Intel's

Cons: - Can get loud at times (see Other thoughts)

Other Thoughts: I've purchased this hsf to replace the stock Intel on a C2D CPU. The case I've used this on was limited on space, so I needed something that would be close in size to Intel's, and this one was only slightly taller. Initially it was loud, spinning at over 3000rpm, but I ended up changing the fan settings in BIOS (can also be done with third party apps in Windows) so it would spin at 2400rpm, which is very quiet. It lowered idle temp to around 50c (stock was 60c with indoor temp at ~25c), and doesn't go over 63c under load (this system isn't used for gaming) when the stock hsf was hovering in top 70's to low 80's.

5 out of 5 eggsKeeps everything nice and cool

Pros: I put this on my Core 2 Quad Q8300 Overclocked at 3.3ghz and I've never gone over 60c at full load.

Cons: Loud at full speed, but it has never gone that high without me causing it to manually.

Other Thoughts: Combined with artic silver 5, you can't lose.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent cooler!

Pros: I'm repurposing an old DB43LD mobo w/Pentium E5300 Dual-Core 2.6GHz CPU and even with a brand new stock Intel cooler the core temps hovered at nearly 50 degrees C just streaming HD video. This cooler dropped the temps to about 37 to 40 degrees C while streaming so I'm a happy camper.

The Intel cooler fan would typically run about 1500 RPM whereas this Rosewill cooler fan runs a bit under 1000 RPM and still drops the core temps about 10 degrees C so the heat sink is apparently quite efficient.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The retention pins on this cooler are quite a bit easier to insert than are the stock Intel cooler pins - so if you're having trouble "snapping" these pins into place you're doing something wrong! Stop and make certain that all four "locks" are turned fully counterclockwise before trying to push the pins into place.

5 out of 5 eggsRosewill RCX-Z90-AL

Pros: This works nicely for what it was designed for.

Cons: n

Other Thoughts: This is rated at 86 watts for cooling in the specs. I put it on a 65 watt processor. Then set the fan speed to the lowest setting in the bios. I have been using the machine that it is in for normal household surfing and social media. The speed has yet to leave the idle speed. This makes it one of the quietest coolers that I have had.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazingly quient

Pros: Amazingly quiet. Far more than I expected, especially for the money. Purchase one at 10 bucks. Then two more at 4 bucks each as spares.

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: All things being relative, it works perfectly well on a system used in an office environment with low load applications. If you're looking for high performance you should do your research first.

2 out of 5 eggsFeels like stock is better.

Pros: Spins quietly, sometimes i wonder if it is not spinning fast enough.

Cons: Seems like stock and this cooler keeps the temp the same.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little cooler at a great price

Pros: I was building a linux-based PC with leftover parts from a deceased high-end Dell XPS. I needed a new CPU cooler, since the stock XPS CPU cooler is massive and didn't fit my new case. This cooler fit the profile I needed completely: low price, great value and great cooling.
- GREAT value for the price you pay.
- Actually much better looking in person than in in the Newegg pictures; well built fan/cooler.
- Already comes with well-applied thermal paste.
- Nice sleeved power cable.
- Altough other reviewers have stated otherwise, on my build (which only has one chasssis fan by the way) this fan is MORE than enough to cool my Core 2 Duo E6700; temperature a steady 38C-40C at idle load.

Cons: Only one major con: the plastic "pins" that serve to screw down the cooler on the Motherboard. If you're reading this, chances are you know all about these poorly-conceived plastic pins that were used with Intel coolers of this generation, and this cooler is no exception. The pins are flimsly and only by pure luck it seems I managed to adequately install the cooler without breakin a pin.
If I where to look hard for another con, yes, it is a little louder than other fans, but not enough to disturb me in my opinion.

Other Thoughts: All in all, taking into account the plastic screw pins, this is still a great buy at this price, and does its job magnificently.
Recommended for anyone looking for a great CPU cooler for older-generation CPU's.
I would rate it 4.5 out of 5 eggs, docking half an egg for the plastic pins, but since Newegg doesn't accept half-egg ratings, I'll give it a perfect five.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for AG8

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: Didn't work for me as a replacement for intel stock fan on older AG8 motherboard. I tried 3 different thermal paste but it kept overheating my P4 550. Looks identical to the stock heat sink (except it's not copper core).

Other Thoughts: I never had problems before w a heatsink. I triple checked installation , push down & turn to lock ? It all felt secure. I got disgusted and thew out the older motherboard.
