1 out of 5 eggsDoes not fit AM3 sockets as advertised

Pros: Looks good in the package, has PWM fan

Cons: Does not fit AM3 socket as advertised

Other Thoughts: Got this to replace the stock cooler on an AMD processor after upgrading my motherboard to one that requires a CPU cooler with a PWM (variable speed, four-pin) fan. Having purchased Rosewill products in the past, I was confident this would work without a problem. The cooler comes with mounting brackets for Intel processors already installed, so I removed them in accordance with the instruction sheet. Unfortunately I then discovered that the retention clip provided for AMD processors does not seat properly in the grooves where it is supposed to fit, making it impossible to continue with the installation. It's not even close -- making me wonder if I didn't receive the retention clip from a completely different model. Perhaps someone was asleep at the wheel at the former hobnail boot factory where these are made. Now I'm left with a CPU cooler I can't use and a computer that's completely built and ready to go, EXCEPT for the CPU cooler, which as we all know is a small but critical component. This has been a most "un-Rosewill-like" experience.

2 out of 5 eggsWarped Base - Quality Issue

Pros: It's cheap as in $0.00 after rebate cheap.

Cons: Replaced a stock cooler with it, but was not giving me nowhere near the temperature drop it should have given the design and the size. In fact it was actually worse than the stock cooler. So I took it off and found... (continued below)

Other Thoughts: So I took the thing off and I can see from the thermal paste residue that the center is not making contact with the CPU at all as it's perfectly clean there. Just along the edges along where the heat pipe comes out of the base there's thermal compound, which means that the base is not flat and not making contact across the entire surface. Not sure if this is just one off quality issue with my my unit or something across the board, but as the old saying goes, you get what you paid for, LOL.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well with Core i5 EVGA MB

Pros: Easy to install, includes some thermal paste if you forgot to order some. Fit my EVGA Z68 FTW without problems. Let me overclock to 4800 and keeps the cpu package far cooler then stock supplied fan.

If you need help, it has pretty sturdy documentation for both intel and AMD cpu's

Cons: didn't come with any free games, but with the nearly zero purchase price after the rebate, who really cares?

Other Thoughts: I may not have done a primo job installing the OEM cooler as my cpu package temps were too high at big overclock, but this cooler, with a large square heatsink gave me a chance to revisit the issue.

Fins are sharp so watch out and it just cleared my ram

Once I revisited my cpu fan speed control in the bios I found I can run a much lower speed setup with this cooler, no doubt because of the bigger thermal mass it provides.

My wife is way happy now that the HTPC is quieter. That alone is worth the price of admission

I'm sure this cooler will take everything I throw at it, once I figure out what my max overclock is going to be. I just cranked it up and then back down until the system booted correctly and the stress tests didn't push the cpu temp into the danger zone. That's all I need for now

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a cooler. It's cheap

Pros: This is nearly identical to my older Arctic Cooling sink I bought in 2008. However, it's not. The AMD install wont require use of those mounting posts people are complaining about.

Cons: The contact base isn't flat as it should be. I tried lapping, but ended up taking a machinist file to it, and started lapping that way. I took an egg off for this. If you don't mind it, than it's a bargain.

Other Thoughts: I was going to install this on an 8350 AMD, but decided to cleanup and reuse my old Arctic one. I'm assuming based on my temps it's better than my stock AMD one, which I never installed. I'm going to use this Rosewill one on my old AMD 5400+ chip. This is a good deal, IF you don't mind giving it a little grind, TLC, and use Arctic Silver 3 or 5 compound.

Sorry, I can't report on how it actually cools, yet.

5 out of 5 eggsNot too bad

Pros: Price is awesome, comes with thermal paste (even tho i bet you can get even lower temps with your artic thermal paste) easy to install (especially for intel sockets) lowered temps.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: Intel Core i5 3570k at stock clock min temps went down to 30 degrees Celsius, and under full load went to 63 degrees Celsius.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is a quite HSF to replace the stock HSF

Pros: I wanted a very quiet and affordable replacement for my stock HSF. After reading reviews on a lot of HSF on newegg I decided on this one. Been using it since 2/2013 with my processor at stock speed. My idle temps are mid to high 30's and under full load its low to mid 60's. Fan speed on idle is high 800rpm and on full load it's high 1200rpm (it can actually go much faster but i've limited it via MB bios to spin a 25% when temps reach in the 60'). I must admit I'm very pleased with my purchase it's been performing well above my expectations. Fan is inaudible at idle speed in my case can't hear it when it ramps up during gaming sessions either. I can't comment on how it would perform with overclocking cause i don't do it, but if you're looking for a quiet HSF that won't break your wallet look no further.

Cons: On my specific MB it does block 1 of the ram slots but i knew this before buying this HSF. Make sure to clean the copper base contact surface before installing. Mine looked a bit grimy.
