5 out of 5 eggsExcellent cooling

Pros: Good price

Cons: Need adaptor for newer CPU such as 1150?

Other Thoughts: I purchased this RCX-Z90-CP cooling kit back to 2011 from Newegg. Used on 775 CPU before and recently trying to use it for a new gaming PC which will be based on 1150 CPU. I did a research on the internet and also visited Newegg. It seems to be Rosewill is still making this same model, but could be used on newer CPUs such as the 1150, etc. Do I need an adaptor or something in order to make it useful for the new CPU(package says work with the older 775 CPU)? Thanks. Patron customer Johnny Ng

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I got this HSF for an i7 4790K that was running hot. The idle temp used to be 62C and with this heatrrsink installed the temp dropped to 48C. Huge improvement over the OEM Heatsink fan. Another huge plus is the mounting mechanism, which is identical to the OEM HSF which means you do not have to remove the motherboard or anything to install this. Simply pop off the old heatsink and put this on in its place. I've had it for 4 months now without any issues. I would buy this again.

Cons: No cons to mention.

5 out of 5 eggs4 Years... Just fine!

Pros: I've had this now for 4 years. Never had to do any maintenance on it (other than blowing out dust). No louder than the day I bought it. Very long lasting.

Cons: It's not silent. Some prissy folks get mad that this is not silent. No... it's not silent... there is fan noise. Get over it... it's a fan. I also remember it being a little hard to put in the last joint. As I recall, trying to get the last one to click the 2 times I put it in felt like I was going to break the motherboard! haha However, I got it in and it doesn't come out on it's own! It's in there! And after 4 years, it still works.

Other Thoughts: Can't ask for more reliability than I feel this has given!

5 out of 5 eggsSimple, Efficient

Pros: Extremely easy to install. Fits in my micro atx case with room to spare. Performs as needed for games like Dayz.

Cons: Yes, the fan gets pretty loud, but hey, it's just doing its job. I'm not a big stickler for noise since I wear a headset or have music playing. Would not even consider this a con.

5 out of 5 eggsIts a fan!

Pros: This fan installed in about 3 minutes, the pegs fit into the MB holes and were quickly snapped down into place. No problems. The thermal compound appeared to be a generous quantity so was suitable to me. Plugged it in and its is going fine.

Cons: There was no instruction booklet but its not really needed.

Other Thoughts: its not a high end cooler for sure but compared to the stock intel cooler it is an improvement.

4 out of 5 eggsBetter than stock

Pros: Easy to install

Cons: Pins do not want to attach easily, but no worse than Intel's stock cooler. Works well once everything is secured down.

Other Thoughts: Would buy this for a build where overclocking is not a issue. Once you get it seated correctly, it works well over the stock cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than its first impression

Pros: Cools well. Seems reliable. Speed can be adjusted if the system supports that via software or BIOS settings.

Cons: It's very loud at full speed. It's not sold as a silent fan, but this one is pushing nearly 50 db by some measurements performed near it. Fortunately, it can potentially be run at lower, quieter speeds.

Other Thoughts: Used on a 65-watt CPU with ceramic thermal grease, the drop in temperature was great although the noise was bothersome for a time.

In this particular case the SpeedFan software could not slow this fan, however a BIOS setting was found (under the "Hardware Monitor" section) called "CPU Q-Fan Control" which successfully quieted it some while retaining good performance.

If noise is not a concern then this is a good CPU cooler of its type. If noise is indeed a concern then it may be best to assure that there's a way to control or adjust the speed of the fan of the CPU before choosing this cooler.

System: Asus P5Q with intel E6700

5 out of 5 eggsWell-Performing

Pros: This fan cools the CPU quite well. Installation was a snap.

Cons: Noisy

Other Thoughts: Although it was installed with a 3rd-party thermal grease and not with the included paste, this item did lower the CPU's temperature quite dramatically vs. how hot it had been running previously with the OEM cooler and fan.

3 out of 5 eggsworks noisy

Pros: it dose what it say

Cons: very noisy

Other Thoughts: after i purchased 2 of these for Intel Core i3-4130T 35w processor in a htpc that's on all the time , everything is fanless but the cpu

this cooler is so noisy worse then the intel cooler. this heatsink is able to keep the cpu cooler then the intel heatsink but with lots of noise

i tried a few low profile heatsinks that either didn't cool well or are noisy. i regretted buying new heatsinks

i found 2 Intel heatsinks for i5 4 core cpu 95w 1156 the heatsink fits perfect fact the pins slipped right into the holes and use then there completely silent even with fan on high and cool one degree better then this one.

what a waste of time and money

why i need a better heatsink with a 35w cpu well bf3 runs with out freezes and glitches with the better heatsink
games
mini itx cases are not the best air flow need a good heatsink
