OverviewCustomer ReviewSpecificationsProduct Tour
OCZ calls their combination heat sink and fan CPU cooler the "Vendetta 2" and it attacks thermal build up with a vengeance. Vendetta 2's trio of 8mm copper heat pipes are configured to be in direct contact with the CPU for efficiently movement of heat away from the processor to the cooling fins.

And, while thermal transference is good, it takes a fan to get things properly moving along. The Vendetta 2 is rigged for silent running. The 120mm rifle bearing fan is attached to the vertical array of aluminum convection fins using vibration-damping rubber posts. It moves an impressive 81 CFM at its maximum 1500 RPM but only generates 32 dBA – as quiet as a library.

PWM functionality lets the computer's BIOS reduce speed and noise even further depending on thermal need. The fins are configured to allow lower velocity air to pass through with less resistance and, they have been dimpled to break up laminar airflow and add turbulence which creates more efficient circulation.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Price is right and the reviews show this is a solid cooler for the CPU.
Cons: Wouldn't mount with fan on my Gigabyte 775 motherboard. The DIMMS are to close and running high finned RAM DIMM once could not be used.
Other Thoughts: Reviews have this being a quality cooler. As it seems with all heatsinks now you really need to check your clearances with the DIMMs.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, sorry you are having mounting difficulties. Please visit our support forums at the link below. We can help you determine if an alternative mounting position will work for you.
Thank you

Best Air-Cooler On The MARKET!

Pros: This is outright the best air cooler you can purchase. It buries the Ultra-120 Extreme and even beats the Xigmatek S1283. Looking for a new cooler? Buy this one. Now.
Cons: It's slightly large and can cover memory slots in *some* boards. Make sure you do some research and make sure it will fit your setup! Also I hate push-pins, but it's actually easier than the 4-screw method that some coolers use.
Other Thoughts: Heatpipe Direct Touch makes it an amazing cooler.

Actually about $56

Pros: High rated cooler.
Cons: Needs support bracket.
Other Thoughts: You pretty much need the support bracket to mount this appropriately, and for some reason they did not supply it, unlike every other cooler on earth. It's about $16 and oddly I dont think Newegg carries it.
Manufacturer Response:Hello, some systems and motherboards may not require the additional support bracket. We started selling them when it became apparent that it may be required in some cases.
Thank you

Great for AM3

Tech Level Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
Pros: Easy installation, AMAZING price, impressive temps, I can't hear it
Cons: -Huge. This isn't really a con, but If you have a mid tower make sure it will fit before you buy it.

-The adhesive on the tape protecting the base of the HS during shipping stuck on when I tore the tape off, leaving behind all sorts of residue. 3 Minutes of Goo Gone etc it was off and ready to mount, but some people might not have noticed.

-They should have shipped it with better thermal paste.
Other Thoughts: My Phenom II x4 955 with stock HSF would reach 65C on Prime 95 after about 5 minutes @ 3.2 GHz. With this Vendetta 2 and some Arctic Silver 5, I have it sitting at 3.8 GHz and even after an hour of Prime 95 torture testing it doesnt break 53C. Its nice to not worry about cooling whatsoever, thanks OCZ.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Reasonable cost, quiet fan, works as advertised. Lowered temp about 6 degrees C from the AMD 9850BE cooler and the PC is in a warm room. Installs easy enough.
Cons: Apparently nobody from OCZ's QA dept has tried to install a retail packaged version. The protective plastic covering on the polished face left a glue residue that took a good 5 minutes to scrub off using Goo Gone. Not a big deal but annoying.
Other Thoughts: Fit's, barely in an older mid-tower case. Had to choose between blowing the warm CPU air up into the PSU or pulling warm PSU air down through the heatsink and onto the video card. I chose down but reversed the porthole fan to blow some room air into the case, onto this unit.
