1 out of 5 eggsBad shipping deal

Pros: The fan is great and works great!!!! This is a review of Newegg's "Next day shipping"

Cons: I really needed this fan for a customer the next day. I ordered and paid for the additional next day shipping and really expected it the next business day. Long story short it came in 3 day later, Calling customer service informed me that it is next day once it is shipped! It took two day for my CPU fan to be processed. What a rip off, very disappointed.

Other Thoughts: I was told had I paid for the "Expedited processing" it might has speed up the shipping. Wow!

1 out of 5 eggsDo not use for Core i7

Pros: Easy to install. That's it.

Cons: Does not cool the CPU. Initial startup the CPU already reach 60 Celsius within 10 minutes and 30 minutes later over 80 and then whole case feels overheated. I'm guessing this is made for low-end CPU with socket 2011 like servers or whatnot.

Other Thoughts: Get this instead for HTPC or small form cases. Noctua NH-L12 120mm & 92mm SSO Bearing PWM Fans CPU Cooler. Kept my CPU under 60 Celsius when playing Civ V and other games.

1 out of 5 eggsAbsolute Junk

Pros: Came with retail Intel 4770K

Cons: I'm running completely stock, no overclocking and I can't even restart my PC without a BIOS POST warning that the CPU has exceeded the temperature warning threshold. When the fan is set to high on my motherboard, it idles at 80-85C. And it's pretty loud. Intel fans in the past haven't been great, but this doesn't even support the boxed processor it came with!!!

Other Thoughts: Why did Intel include this with a processor it can barely cool???

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: none

Cons: can not cool a 3930k @ Stock speeds

Other Thoughts: Simply do not buy this junk. I bought it as a comparison between review cases because not all coolers can clear with a side panel closed and not everyone wants a liquid cooled system.

This is not able to cool a 3930k @ stock 3.2ghz! Let me rephrase that.... under prime95 the cooler could not keep it below 80c! at 80c you are in the danger zone and it wasn't about to taper off, it just kept going up. why did intel even make this cooler? This is going into the trash now. The Intel Liquid cooler is nearly identical to the Antec 620 and that tapered off around 70c~. If you really want to use an intel made cooler, than you will be safe...ish.

Yes I did re-seat it and used different thermal paste also. This is not my first computer... Conclusion > save $30...

2 out of 5 eggsNot what I expected

Pros: low price
easy to install
blue LED (if you like blue)

Cons: Nowhere in the description or the picture does it say or show that it's blue. I specifically did not want BLUE! All my other LEDs are red -_- However, the biggest problem was that after only a couple of months (or at least that's when I noticed) the fan stopped spinning. The notches to hold the wires in place were terrible and the wires became caught in the fan. Even after I removed them the fan still only works half the time without the need of my finger to get it spinning like an old crop duster...

Other Thoughts: I have learned to just not buy cheap parts, even if they are simple fans.

4 out of 5 eggsNice cpu cooler

Pros: Installed this in two separate workstation/server builds and so far no problems. It has an LED light that adds a little coolness factor to the build but otherwise is pretty standard.

Cons: Perfect for single cpu motherboards. However, for dual cpu builds this was too wide so it was not possible for the board I had (asus z9PA-8) to put them side by side.

Other Thoughts: Good cpu overall. I would recommend for any single cpu installation.

3 out of 5 eggsLGA 2011 only

Pros: It's probably fine if your processor is for the LGA 2011 socket.

Cons: At the time I made the mistake of purchasing it, it showed up in the results for LGA 775. It's not. I would not remove an egg for my lazy bad. Some eggs are missing because there is no reason to design a heat-sink which does not allow for the replacement of the fan. It is unnecessary, and environmentally unfriendly.

Other Thoughts: Makes a great paperweight, except if when plugged in.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it says on the box

Pros: If you're looking for something reasonably priced and reliable this is a good option.

Cons: Louder than I'd prefer, but then again, I guess I had that coming when I went with a 2011 instead of a newer Ivy Bridge.

Other Thoughts: Glows blue... I'd have rather spent a dollar less on it and not have it glow.
