5 out of 5 eggsAmazing inexpensive fan

Pros: I'm impressed! I've designed quite a bit of electronic equipment in the last quarter-century, and got a couple of these for some basic projects. I will certainly buy more. I doubt that, if you need an 80mm fan, you could go wrong with this. Plus Newegg is still pretty great!

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I'll buy more of these

5 out of 5 eggsFantastic Fan

Pros: Great quality fan, quite on low and medium, has worked great for over 5 years, has optional motherboard plug, slightly exceeded my expectations.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Has worked reliably for over 5 years and is only loud on high, which is the trade off for moving more air. Great card for people with a Dell computer with an Intel motherboard that has no plugin for the fan. This way I can set the fan where I want it (medium) so its moving enough air while still quiet. Helps my micro BTX case breathe.

5 out of 5 eggsWork Good

Pros: Work good, way better than the fans that came in my cheap case. With two of these and a 120mm version, the case is way more quiet than it was.

Cons: none, works as it should.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: I bought these guys to replace some old Cheap fans I had in my case. I decided to buy the 3 speed because the price. I was looking for some good ones with thermostats and auto scaling, but the thermaltakes I like are not easy to find anymore. Silent in low, quiet in medium, and loud in high. I run all three in low, but I have 2 Thermaltakes that work beside them and scale up when the temp gets hot.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: The wires are plenty long enough for most cases.

4 out of 5 eggsSatisfactory

Pros: Inexpensive, double ball bearing, 3-pin compatible, includes 3-pin to molex adapter with speed sensor wire for the mainboard. The speed switch evenly divides the range into the lowest reliable running speed, a mid-range and full on. The wire from fan to 3-pin plug is 15 inches -- plenty for most applications. Moves a surprising amount of CFM if unrestricted. Switch is small and unobtrusive, though a bit stuck near the fan (only a four inch wire). Meets my needs perfectly (side panel fan for a server/workstation in an office).

Cons: Adapter wire is a bit short so if you use it, the molex power plug will need to be about eight inches from the plug on the mainboard for the speed sensor. Unlike some other fans, this one will make a noticeable wood chipper sound if installed with the fan blade side (output) and not the motor side (intake) facing the metal mesh found in many cases. The noise is not noticeable on low speed but it is annoying when set to high. This isn't a problem if installed the other direction or if using one of those decorative covers instead. The top speed is not especially high enough for those who want quiet, normal and gaming modes.

Other Thoughts: The CFM is nice for the amount of noise generated, but that metal mesh sucks out all of the air movement. If dB/CFM is a concern, use a different shield and remove the mesh. The noise and air movement are very dependent on obstructions.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat replacement case fans

Pros: These are the ones to get, the others are sometimes DC sleeves, which seize up eventually, either the motor wears out or they fill with dust over time and they're done.

Cons: Never free shipping

Other Thoughts: Get a couple at a time and hold onto them, it makes the shipping more bearable, and if you work on machines all the time like I do they'll come in handy

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I got a few of these from a nearby Staples a few months ago. Very quiet; almost inaudible at low and medium settings. High ramps up the volume abit, but not to the point where it bugs me.

Cons: One of the fans (I bought a pair of these) made a strange loud wheeze when I set to med/hi. I exchanged it for another and the replacement worked fine.

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet and Effective

Pros: Quiet and effective. Uses a three position switch to control fan speeds, which I prefer over a fan controller or even the controller built on to most motherboards. The lowest speed works just fine in my Antec cases, even during extended gaming activity.

Cons: Control cable is a bit too short.

Other Thoughts: I currently own several of these in 80mm and 120mm. I will know by the end of each new build, how the fans need to be set. Fortunately, these fans have worked fine at the lowest settings for all of my latest builds.

1 out of 5 eggsDissapointed in Antec

Pros: -Variable 3 speed switch is nice
-Cheap price on the egg
-Look nice
-But....

Cons: -Strange and very annoying "scratching sound"
-Pitiful airflow, even at high speed
-Noise output is terrible at all speeds

Other Thoughts: I bought these to cool my upcoming gaming SFF rig and I wanted a way to control the fan speed without having to resort to buying seperate reostats or a fan controller. I've had good luck with Antecs products all these years, so I jumped on these for the price.

Unfortuantly, these have much to be desired. My first impression was this very annoying "scratching" sound that eminnated from the fans, even at slow speed. Almost sounds like their on bushings then bearings. It was horrendously annoying with my case sitting next to me. On top of that, I was really dissapointed in the air output, even at high speed and at that speed, the noise is completely overpowering to point you might as well install a Delta fan and at least get good airflow for the noise. Sent these back in reusing old 80mms with fan controller

5 out of 5 eggsWould buy over and over

Pros: I was temporarily just using the heatsink fan to cool my computer because the original case fan was so loud. I put in this fan and there was no noise increae whatsoever. This is a vary quiet fan at least on low setting. I did not try any of the other settings.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I am becoming an Antec fan (pun)
