1 out of 5 eggsThis is Antec quality?

Pros: None.

Cons: This 120mm 3-speed fan was to replace an Antec fan in my Antec Solo case bought in 2008 here at Newegg. That's 7 years of service, the original black plastic Tri-cool lasted. Not bad huh?

Well, I got more of these "new" white plastic looking fans to replace the sometimes old noisy 2008 one. It did its job nicely. They never drilled out the holes correctly for mounting the fan. Had to rout each hole a bit at a time. One screw hole got routed too much. So, I have 3 screws holding the fan in the rear. Couldn't even use the screws they supplied. Had to use the original 2008 screws. They were longer in length than what you get now. They worked.

I can mount a rear fan with eyes closed. This white plastic they are using is simply garbage. If it ain't broken don't fix it. You know the KISS rule?

I have read others here suggesting to rout out the holes. Anyone paying attention there Antec. I buy Antec because it's top notch quality. But this? What's this?

Other Thoughts: took 4 eggs off for each screw hole. Get a Top motor/Rexus fan here. Couldn't even use my Akustic rubber insulator with these "white" fans. I was able to use it with the original Antec fan from 2008 though. A fan? Get real!

Manufacturer Response:

Hello John,

We take our customer service very seriously. We are continually reviewing customer feedbacks and finding to make the quality of our products even better.

I will definitely bring this issue up with our Product Devlopment Team.

Thank you,

4 out of 5 eggsIt's a fan

Pros: It moves air. It moves it quietly. Good price for something with Molex and 3/4 pin connectivity and speed controller. No blinding LEDs.

Cons: As others have mentioned, the self-threading screws are a bit of a pain to install. Be sure to thread them outside of the case before installing, or you're gonna have a bad time.

Other Thoughts: Received product less than 20 hours after ordering it with free shipping. A+ Newegg.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good

Pros: This fan can move a ton of air, and is about as quiet as a fan moving a ton of air can be.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I mainly chose this fan because I wasn't sure how much CFM I wanted or how loud a large CFM would be, and because my motherboard at the time didn't have the capability to control fan speed.

The highest setting is pretty loud, as can be expected. Medium is much quieter and still moves more air than any case fan I've ever owned before.

3 out of 5 eggs2/3 of them seem to work fine so far.

Pros: Somewhat quiet at the lowest setting. They're also a really good value for ball bearing fans with controllers.

Cons: One out of the three that I purchased makes a horrible humming noise and I'm forced to keep it set to low or else it's just completely intolerable. Even then, it's hardly any better than the scraping sleeve fan that it replaced.

1 out of 5 eggsUser unfriendly design

Pros: None yet because it's not fully installed.

Cons: Problems with this product:

1. The packaging provides a URL to the Antec web site for installation instructions. Installing a case fan should be no big deal, but since they provided it I thought it prudent to see if there were any special considerations. The URL gets redirected to the Antec home page, and I couldn't locate the installation instructions.

2. The self-threading mounting screws supplied with the fan are absolute torture to get through the hard plastic fan frame. It's a lazy design: let the user make the mounting hole threads. I suggest that one first very slightly enlarge the holes with a drill. Be very careful that the holes are not made too large, though.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this fan to replace a very similar Antec fan that had failed after five years of nearly continuous use.

4 out of 5 eggsQuiet fan with slightly frustrating install

Pros: Very quiet fan.
Keeps case cool.

Cons: Had to thread holes with screws. Almost stripped the heads of screws.

Note: thread holes with screws outside of case before you try to install it. It will be a lot easier.

Other Thoughts: I almost gave up on the fan because of the install bit, but it works in the end. I think I will stick with cooler master or others in the future.

3 out of 5 eggs  tough to screw

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: These are really hard to screw into place. I don't know if it's because the plastic is so hard, or the provided screws are just weak. I stripped one of the screws because my screw driver kept slipping.

Other Thoughts: Nothing special. I'd recommend something else

3 out of 5 eggsLED are DEAD!!!

Pros: Inexpensive, speed control, blue led, quite

Cons: speed control wire to short!
LED's are DOA (Dead on arrival) Makes no sense to send back, shipping will null and void savings on fan price.

Other Thoughts: Best Buy was more expensive but LEDs worked. Newegg was cheaper but LED's are dead.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Inexpensive, does what it's suppose to. 3-speed switch is handy. Comes with an adapter cable to connect directly to your power supply if your motherboard doesn't have enough connections.

Cons: None so far. A bit noisy at high speed, but super quiet at low. Have to open up the PC to adjust fan speed and the speed control cable is short making it hard for other solutions. Could of course rewire it.
