3 out of 5 eggsLGA 1366 Compatibility?

Pros: I had a dual cpu motherboard that needed a cooling option that would fit. The Antec Kuhler flow appears to meet this need.

Cons: LGA 1366. So far, I have had to call Antec directly and they are sending me a replacement bracket to go over the CPU because the included ones do not fit over an LGA 1366 CPU. Kind of disappointing for Antec not to provide all the pieces needed to work right out of the box.

Other Thoughts: You will also need a larger computer case for this to fit. The typical 7.5 " depth will not add enough clearance.

4 out of 5 eggsNot so fast

Pros: Excellent product for the price.I do think however that Antec could have done a little better job on mating the pipes to the heat block.

Cons: Check ! the backing plate (AMD) on your mobo B-4 ordering. If it has the black plastic one it may not work. I.E.,the threads for your hold down thumb screws are recessed. This makes the screws about a mile to short,at least in my case it did. LOL.

Other Thoughts: I had some of the metal with the white poly insulator plates and there is definitely a difference between the two.The metal ones worked without any other hiccups.

5 out of 5 eggsVery COOOOOL!

Pros: Was going to get the other Khuler cpu cooler, but only this one would fit with Corsair Airflow 2 and Airflow Pro, cpu was running at 50c with stock cooler, after I purchased this Antec cooler it went down to 39c, then I replaced the 120mm fan on the Antec with a Cougar 120mm Hydrodynamic PWM high cfm fan, temps dropped to 31c. I then overclocked all my 3.7 ghz cores to 3.945 and I,m back to 37c normally in a 60c house. Easy to install.

Cons: Works better with the Cougar 120mm fan instead.

Other Thoughts: Comes with plenty of hardware for all other cpu sockets. But low end thermal paste....

4 out of 5 eggsGood product

Pros: Big fan, PWM, support for many CPU socket types, and great customer service too.

Cons: Difficult to install... I had to remove the motherboard from the case even though the backplate was already installed.

Other Thoughts: Did not use the provided thermal paste...

4 out of 5 eggsDecent 120mm cooler

Pros: The cooler works quite well. Not as good as a Venomous X, but very good for the price. Comes with machine screws, which means no worries about over tightening and damaging the socket. Overall clearance seems good, but see the cons section for notes on installation.

The fan seems to be good quality.

Cons: If your motherboard is still in the case it'll be impossible to attach. Two of the screws sit under the heatsink and require a tiny wrench (included) to screw down.

The manual is pictures only, no text, and it only shows one possible attachment method.

Other Thoughts: The bag of screws that came with the heatsink was missing the four tapered screws for the arm attachments. I had spares, but if you receive this kit without them it might be cause for a RMA.

4 out of 5 eggsscary, but good

Pros: quiet (if you use the added cable to reduce the speed to 1600rpm).
helps airflow throughout the entire case.

Cons: Huge.
I had to buy a new case because the side door would slide shut.
The amount of pressure to lock it onto my brand new x3 processor gave me fits.

Other Thoughts: I've over-clocked my Phenom II x3 740BE to 3.9. Running Prime95 for 10 minutes, according to PC Wizard, raises my processor temps to ~ 42c. If I unlock the 4th core and run it at 3.4 (the highest stable clock I can get), the temp is ~ 36c. (room temp is around 72f, btw.)

When I throttle the processor to 800mhz (32 watts), the temp gets as low as 17c. That's late at night when the room is even cooler.

In case you are wondering, that's exceptional.

4 out of 5 eggsI'm the Guinea Pig

Pros: This Heatsink comes with alot of backplates, screws, small wrench, and thermal paste. The design works well for keeping heat out of case and having lots of room by ram. Installation is pretty simple if you are not a rookie to pc building.

Cons: Avoid the thermal paste. I have artic silver but wanted to see how the default did. Immediately I realized the thermal paste is horrible. It came out the dispensor like chewed up bubble gum and had a extremely sticky feeling to it. Infact, I could not spread it or move it without the whole amount latching on to my spreader and all of it coming off the cpu.

Next, the 8 picture guide is simple and does well for Intel base systems but if you are new to AMD expect a small shock. You get no pictures demonstrating how to install the heatsink on a AMD motherboard. I came from years of intel builds and it took me a minute to understand that I was suppose to remove the default AM3 front plate and use the backplate on my Gigabyte board for the heatsink. A small picture diagram for AMd would clean up alot of confusion there.

Other Thoughts: I never got to test the AMD default heatsink so I can only report what my system has.
I idle at at 35C and max at 50C(Primed for 7 hrs). Both temps seem well within boundaries and nice and cool.
