5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Value

Pros: Running an FX-6300 / GA-970A inside a Corsair 550D, all settings at stock. Cool n' Quiet running with no OC, freq ranges from 1400 to 4100 Mhz. Under load I have not seen temps above 39C and got as low as 6C on idle in Core Temp (typically ranging from 10 to 28C). The sink fan spins at 1000 rpm and is whisper quiet too. FYI: I have six other 120mm case fans spinning from 500 to 1000 rpm (nothing like airflow afterall).

Cons: The thing is so BIG it defeats the purpose of a roomy case, so you can mover your hands around the board and case easily. You'll have to remove things to get to others, like your battery or any card or connection near them, including your RAM. Stay away from over-sized heat spreaders or just run two sticks, not four (so keep your needle-nose and flashlight handy). The heatsink fins are aluminum and very light. it always feels like I'll nick or bend them if I'm not careful.

Other Thoughts: Well worth it, especially on sale . . . $15 with five bucks off and a $15 AMEX rebate card. I never realized air cooling could be like this, chilly AND quiet. Job well done.

4 out of 5 eggsA pain to install, but works great

Pros: It's super quiet, and runs way cooler than the stock Intel cooler. My CPU idles a little under 30 deg C in good weather, and maxes out under 60 deg C under heavy load. Either way, I don't hear the fan.

Also, although it's a pain to get on, I'm fairly certain the mounting system would survive many more installation cycles than the plastic Intel uses.

Cons: Getting the back mounting bracket on was a real pain, and I needed someone else to help me.

It is very large; I would not recommend trying to install this in a case that isn't designed for this style of heat sink. Specifically, the motherboard tray cut-out behind the CPU socket on my case was essential.

Other Thoughts: TIM: some old Arctic Silver Ceramique
CPU: Intel Xeon E3-1225V3
Case: Fractal Design Define R4

5 out of 5 eggsThis beast rocks!

Pros: This thing is a beast. Make sure you have a good sized case. I installed this in a Cooler Master Storm Stryker so I had no worries it would fit. The lowest I've seen temps get is 5C! Incredible. Highest temp running a few games was 45C. Couldn't be happier!

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Processor coupled with this is an AMD FX 6300.

5 out of 5 eggsEnermax ETS-T40-TB & 8350

Pros: Great Price. Great Cooling. Reasonably decent install.
It took me about 45 minutes to install. Thats remove mbrd, install bracket, re-install mbrd into case, install cooler. It Fit in my Mid-Tower case.

Cons: Wasn't FREE. Not Liquid Cooling.

Other Thoughts: I recently upgraded my CPU from an AMD Phenom X4 965 Black to AMD FX-8350. The 8350 ran VERY HOT on the stock cooler. It would idle at 38C/32C on the stock cooler and run at 71C/40C playing BF4 with the cpu fan SCREAMING. Now it idles at 32C/30C and after 4 hours of BF4 it ran at 60C/34C and relatively quiet. No More Screaming Fan. I am now a Happy Gamer again.

5 out of 5 eggsStrong Silent fan for Solid Price

Pros: Decent cooling.
Very quiet for its size and power.
Great price.

Cons: Enormous!
A slight bit tricky to install, especially if its put in from a ground up build. Nevertheless I figured it out on my first PC build so am not gonna subtract any points.

Other Thoughts: Im running a Xeon 3.4 ghz cpu. It gets very hot very fast, so far this has been keeping it cool but I will post again if something changes

4 out of 5 eggsGigantic, but cool

Pros: Keeps my CPU frosty, probably the next best thing before liquid.

Cons: You can obviously read the dimensions, but that doesn't really do this beast justice, its like the hulk of heatsinks. I knew it would fit in my case (with about 1/8th inch to spare) but what i didnt count on is it hanging over my RAM, I got lucky that my RAM was relatively low profile, but if it wasnt I would have had to jerry rig the fan to the other side facing the wrong way.

Other Thoughts: Don't let the size scare you off, this is a great product, but keep in mind that for $10 more you can snag an entry level liquid cooling system.

5 out of 5 eggsBrought my FX 6300...

Pros: Works very well! Brought my FX-6300 from 35-45C to 18-25C. Cant ask for anything better for the price point.

Cons: Kinda big for my mid-tower case, but I got it to work.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this cooler

Pros: Its Quiet and keeps my AMD 8 core quiet cool not to mention the best and sturdiest install i have ever had on a heatsink. I never leave reviews but had to on this one. I bought a hyper 212 evo based on the great reviews from the moment it went in when the cpu got wam the fan speed kicked up and it created this horrible vibrating noise. i tried everything to stop it. Finally i found this cooler and i am very impressed.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a good cooler and have the room get his one you wont be sorry. throw out that evo and give this a go.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Drops my AMD CPU temp to 28C from 57-62C w/ stock. This is a very quiet cooler, which is what my original goal was.

Cons: Freaggin huge. Had to change the bracket on the bottom of the MB, I didn't realize that I would have to do this when I bought it. But then that's my fault for rushing.
