5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler

Pros: •Cools CPU with high efficiency
•Relatively easy Installation
•Impressive looking to show off to friends and family
•120mm fan really moves a lot of air
•Design allows for great heat dispensation
•Clear instructions when installing
•My CPU idles at 16C with this bad boy

Cons: •Quite loud with fan at 100% - had to turn mine way down in BIOS, but you could use software like speedfan. Once the fan is around 30-40% power for idle then its almost whisper quiet.
•Very large - measure your case first! My tower has a removable motherboard tray so I removed it and installed this. The cooler was so tall I couldn't clear the case sliding the motherboard tray back into place. I had to take off the cooler, clean up thermal compound, place the tray back into the case and then install the cooler "in" the case as opposed to outside of the case. It made for tight working conditions (I have a mid-tower case) but I can't fault the cooler for that.
•Would have been great to include a 2nd 120mm fan for a push pull effect on both sides of the cooler, as it stands now you need to provide your own for a 2nd fan, not a huge deal but it would have been nice.

Other Thoughts: This is a wonderful cooler, 10/10 would buy again unless I can find the funds for a closed loop liquid cooler, in which case I would liquid cool (quieter and more efficient). As far as air coolers go though, this is the best I've ever used.

3 out of 5 eggsNot useable in Standard Full Towers

Pros: Keeps my 8370 Nice and Cool

Cons: I cannot reassemble my full tower as the height of this monster exceeds by 3/8 of an inch the plane of the case.

Other Thoughts: Heatsink makers have to start making their items to Minimum as opposed to Maximum height tolerances. I have Nocternas on my other 2 Builds with no such clearance issues and they are monsters in their own right.

5 out of 5 eggsSurprisingly good!

Pros: Very good cooling for a budget air cooler. This keeps my 5820k around 70-74 degrees under full load at 4.3GHz/1.25V. I'm Impressed at how well it handles this 140W chip. The fan is high quality with PWM capability, and has no rattles or coil whine. Installation on the 2011-3 socket was super easy. I didn't have to deal with the backplate though, so I can't say anything about that.

Cons: It's kinda tall at 160mm, so make sure your case can handle it. Just do the math.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this in place of another cooler that happened to go out of stock just as I was placing my order, and I couldn't be happier. I know it's far from a liquid cooling setup, but it'll certainly do just fine until I can afford a custom loop. Would recommend.

5 out of 5 eggsFun to install and works great

Pros: - Quiet
- Easy / fun installation
- Noticeable cooling impact (10+ degrees cooler than stock cooler)

Cons: no negatives that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I replaced the stock cooler on my amd fx-4130. Previously my cpu was hitting 60C+ while gaming and the 70mm fan would go north of 5,000 rpm. Very noisy, and I was concerned because amd wants you to keep the cpu below 62C. With this cooler my temps don't break 50C and I can't even hear the fan. Idles at about 800 rpm, goes to 1200 during gaming sessions. About 5-7 degrees cooler at idle (below 30C) too. Fantastic improvement for the price.

I've read the other reviews and I don't understand the complaints about the instructions. I have a mid-tower case and it fits. I didn't need to remove the motherboard (obviously the right side panel comes off, and there's a cutout behind the mobo to install the backplate). I simply read the instructions before I got started, made sure it made sense. Installation took about a half hour.

Like others have said, this thing is big. It needs to be. It clears the RAM modules and side panel by probably less than a cm. Good design in my opinion - they used as much space as humanly possible to get that heat away from the cpu.

I had a tough cooling environment - actually have the pc in a cabinet. I have fans mounted to the cabinet and decent airflow, but ultimately poorer airflow than when the pc is out in the open. The stock cpu cooler just wasn't working for me. The fact that I was able to find a heatsink-based cooler that performed in this environment was a surprise. And cheaper than liquid cooling, so I'm pretty happy.

5 out of 5 eggsThe best cooler in this category.

Pros: -Easy to Install
-Quiet
-Better cooling temps than other brands in this category.
-Low price (I paid $35)
-Very Sturdy
-Comes in other colors (I bought the standard one)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I replaced a CM Hyper 212+ that was developing coil whine with this. In my opinion, the Enermax ETS-T40-TB is a better cooler. I got this for $35 which was an awesome buy. This cooler keeps my cpu about 2-3C cooler than the Hyper 212+. The installation is a breeze compared to other coolers in this category. Easiest one I've ever had to install. This is the second time I've built a system with this cooler. I also bought a white one for another build which was also a pleasure to install and use. The quality of these Enermax coolers are spot-on. I wouldn't use any other cooler in this price range.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Little (Well, Big) Cooler

Pros: Very easy installation, keeps temps on my new Core i5-4590 CPU lower than I expected, idles at 28C!

Cons: Instructions aren't great and print is small, but once you see the basic idea, installation is a straightforward procedure.

5 out of 5 eggsNice! But BIG BIG BIG!!

Pros: AMD Kaveri temps with stock cooler.. High 50's to low 70's under load.
AMD Kaveri temps with THIS cooler... Low 30's to low 40's under load..
This is all you need to know.

Cons: It's one of the biggest processor heatsink/fans I've ever seen. It's so big, I have to dry dock my PC until next payday, at which point I will have to buy a new case. So, like I said.. THIS THING IS HUGE... But, that's what she said.

Other Thoughts: If you look at the instructions and they are written in a language you don't understand, flip the paper over and read the back until you find one you do understand. If you still don't understand, look at the pictures. If you can't read or see, get someone to help you. This thing really isn't that bad to install. Furthermore, once you actually have it done, I bet you will appreciate some of the engineering quality time that was put in to developing this device. I know I did. But once again........ That's what she said.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing cooler!

Pros: Keeps cpu under 35C on idle
Has great airflow
Quiet
Ascetically pleasing

Cons: Really big, can barely fit in my case
Install instructions are minimal and frustrating
heavy

Other Thoughts: The install instructions were really vague and confusing because it just shows a picture of the backplate and the mounting holes were akward. i had to google the socket just to make sure i was installing it properly. Please make better instructions

5 out of 5 eggsCools FX-6300 Excellently

Pros: Bought this earlier this year when it came out based on performance reviews at the time, and I'm glad I did. This thing keeps my FX-6300 nice and cool. The fan barely comes off of idle.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: It was a tight fit in my case (Raidmax Horus), but it does just barely clear the side. It just barely clears the ram too.

5 out of 5 eggsTight FIt

Pros: Great cooling, fan is very quiet

Cons: Install instructions are vague, tight fit

Other Thoughts: I've built many systems from scratch in 20 years, but installing this cooler was a bit of a chore. I measured everything in my case and MB and it just made it - clearances from the plate to the bottom of the fins / fan would be a very valuable number.
However now that its installed the performance is AWESOME! Using RealTemp GT to monitor the CPU and its always 38 or less. I'm Impressed!
Installation is a bit anxiety provoking but once its in it's golden.
