5 out of 5 eggsQuiet

Pros: Moves a fair amount of air and very, very quiet. Comes with 4 black fan screws and a 3 pin to molex power adapter

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I have this fan mounted horizontally in the top of my case with the 3 pin connector to a fan header on the motherboard

2 out of 5 eggsThese are UCTB14B's, Not UCTB14!

Pros: It can be quiet at lower than advertised RPM, 100,000 hour MTBF.

Cons: Newegg has these fans mislabeled as UCTB14, these are NOT UCTB14, they are UCTB14B (Batwing?), a very different critter.

UCTB14

UCTB14-B
http://enermaxusa.com/fan_uctb14b.php

According to my GA-Z170MX-Gaming 5 motherboard, these fans are not 750 RPM as advertised, I purchased 5 of these fans and they are reading from 850 to 940 rpm and not nearly as quiet as the UCTB14 (non-B) fans.

I absolutely don't like the silver band with the open Enermax lettering, I'm no fan engineer but this just doesn't seem right. It seems like it could intake air from the inside of the case from the Enermax lettering.

Other Thoughts: I guess I should have examined the images of this fan but I went by the model number. I have a bunch of the non-B UCTB14 fans that have been in service for years.

Love my old UCTB14's, don't like these new UCTB14B's.

5 out of 5 eggsquiet and moves a ton of air

Pros: Looks neat and moves air efficiently with being quiet. Overall a great purchase for a quality 140mm fan

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: If they would sleeve the cable it would be a nice bonus. Though I personally prefer sleeving my own fan cables to ensure getting exactly the look I want. Quality fans these days come from the factory already sleeved and ready to go.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent, Removable Blades

Pros: Fan is dead silent inside my case, I am not overclocking so I don't need to move a ton of air. I use this as an exhaust fan and it's working perfectly. Blades can be removed, this makes cleaning a breeze.

Cons: Doesn't move a ton of air, but this is to be expected. Read the specs.

Other Thoughts: Wish they made a PWM version that can spin at a higher RPM if needed. They have a 120mm version of the fan that does this, but so far no 140mm. Enermax are you listening? :)

5 out of 5 eggsQuiet, Voltage Controlled, Works Horizontally

Pros: This is really quiet and seems to move enough air as an exhaust fan in a quiet computer. It doesn't move a ton of air, but it's really quiet and what's another degree celcius for a quiet computer?

I have a positive pressure setup aimed at reasonable quietness while being able to move enough air to keep the innards from melting during that rare `make -j12'.

I'm using it on the top of the case vent and it is silent at low or high speed. Using fancontrol, it's set to idle at around 280RPM and ramp up to full speed (~800RPM) if the chipset says the cpu is +10C over ambient. It is not noticeable over the other already quiet (the furnace fan is louder than the entire machine) case fans, but the cpu temp drops just a bit more when the fan is at full throttle. I see no reason a normal person wouldn't just run it at a single speed.

I'd list it as a con that it won't spin up initially without being jolted with full force for a few seconds and stops when given less than 40% power, but it wasn't supposed to be voltage controllable anyway. So, a pro: you can actually vary the speed between 250RPM or so and full speed. I do it, but I'm not sure there's really any advantage.

Cons: nil
