When I put it in my system it made it sound like a hair dryer was being run constantly. I'm pretty sure the one I got was defective, because other reviews say this is a quiet fan The fan also blew air everywhere except where the fan was pointing, which pretty much defeated its purpose. I returned it after a day; I couldn't take the hair dryer noise for any longer and it was doing nothing to cool my system. Other Thoughts: The RMA processes was fast and easy, so I give this 2 eggs because of that only. The fan gets only 1 egg. Manufacturer Response: Dear Value Customer, This fan should not sound like that at all. It might have been a defective unit. Sorry for the inconvenience. Cons: At top speed it comes across as being louder than the 18dba claimed. Loud enough to get me to place a resistor in the line to bring it down a bit. It is connected to pws and not the mb. Of course noise perception is also affected by the grates the air is being blown thru so perhaps air woosh is adding to the volume. White plastic is not a turn on in my case, but meh. dllyncher 1/3/2013 5:18:29 PM Tech Level: 5/5 Ownership: 2/5	Rating: 5/5Powerful, Quiet, BRIGHT!!! Pros: Moves a lot more air than my stock Thermaltake fan. Nice and quiet regardless of fan speed. Detachable fan blades and frame makes cleaning as easy as can be. I didn't need an extension cable which eliminated cable clutter. Cons: LED's are overly bright. Can't dim LED's without slowing fan. Other Thoughts: This is better suited as CPU fan than a chassis fan due to the brightness of the white LED's, unless you want your PC to shine. Did you find this review helpful? Other Thoughts: - No instructions on how to remove the fan blades. I felt like I was going to break the plastic supports that hold the motor. You do have to push on them really hard to remove them. I will be replacing the three of these I ordered with something with a higher static pressure and more focused output, such as Cougar or Corsair Did you find this review helpful?
