The ENERMAX ETS-T40-BK CPU cooler employs a unique TCC (Thermal Conductive Coating) to create better velocity of thermal transference and prevents oxidation on the contact surface. It delivers world leading thermal resistance performance of 0.085°C/W thanks to the combination of three smart innovations: Stack Effect Flow, Vortex Generator Flow, and Vacuum Effect Flow. Its four 0.6mm high-performance heat pipes with HDT (Heatpipe Direct Touch) ensure rapid thermal conduction and eliminate CPU hotspots. The ETS-T40-BK also comes with one 12cm Twister Bearing PWM fan with an operating range of 800RPM to 1800RPM. Plus, the ETS-T40-BK feature a universal bracket that is compliant with most Intel and AMD sockets, including Intel’s 4th Generation processors.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Cooler

Pros: Looks amazing. Best LED fan out there, and the black heatsink looks slick. Great cooling performance, although I didn't push it to its limits.

Cons: Heatsink is millimeters away from bumping into the top of the Cooler Master case I used. Needless to say, no room for top case fans when this is installed. This is the fault of the case, though. Just saying, the heatsink is wide.

4 out of 5 eggsCould use a bit more ram clearance

Pros: - Looks great with black metal fins
- Silent fan with lots of great blue LEDs

Cons: - Somewhat complicated installation - identifying the correct holes on the mounting bracket was not obvious
- Fan didn't clear my RAM that had a cooling fin. I was able to move the fan slightly higher by half an inch to make room.

Other Thoughts: Tall RAM cooling fins may be an issue for the fan on this CPU cooler, so be sure to measure ahead of time. It would be nice if the company had designed for this since high performance CPU coolers are likely to go next to RAM with tall head spreaders. Otherwise great price, great looks, and solid fan.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Good price. Keeps cpu at normal temperatures for moderate use. Easy to install.

Cons: Just a little to tall (3mm) for a standard mid tower case. This shouldn't take away from the product though. I'm in Europe and certain things don't ship well over here like cases. So I'll get a new case, like I've been wanting to for some time, when I can.

Other Thoughts: Need new case.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome - just what I wanted

Pros: High quality bits, great tolerances, easy installation, amazing performance, mouse quiet.

Cons: I didn't realize it would come with good thermal paste - I could have avoided spending an extra $5 for a new tube of Arctic Silver.

Other Thoughts: My ice blue heavily modded rig was running a stock cooler because I didn't want to take away from some of the other design elements. Of course, it crapped out so I found this beauty. I was a little worried about the fit, but my measurements were telling me I should end up between 1 and 2 mils clearance for the window kit side panel. calculations were right on after a quick installation and the blue LED 120mm fan looks just as I envisioned. In fact, the case is designed for a very high front to back flow, mainly to make up for the stock cooler and after installation I was recording 18C CPU temps and 20C case temps. Yep, the CPU with no load was cooler than the case - I couldn't believe it. Anywhoo, Enermax ETS-T40 Black Twister FTW.

Bring on the noobs.

4 out of 5 eggsSure is Pretty

Pros: Does what it is paid to do; look pretty and keep things cool.
-The fan looks as stunning in my build as it does in the pictures
-Does a good job keeping my G3258 cool at 4.5 GHz.
-65-70C during IntelBurnTest and Prime
-4 Pin PWM cable is long and sleeved in black
-Includes mounting hardware for a second fan, however another identical fan costs $$$

Cons: -Price. It is at a list price that is just above several other good air coolers and just below some water coolers. On sale for <$40 I say is a good deal. But if you look up how much the fan costs alone then you can imagine why the price is up there.

Other Thoughts: Make sure the height wont be a problem in your case. She is a tall one.

4 out of 5 eggsDid I go wrong?

Pros: Solid build. Passed my heat absorption test. Cools my i7 3770k OC @ 4.4 Ghz from idle temps lowest 32 C to average idle temp 39 C. Highest low 60 C to highest high at 90 C. An adequate CPU cooler.

Cons: I genuinely expected more. The stock cooler that came with my i7 3770k is on par with this cooler! I guess that says a lot. I had to reseat this cooler many times to see if it was a error on my part. Ultimately it's better owning this cooler over the plain stock cooler. I have to admit, when I bought this, I was admiring it's coolness over it's ability to cool.

Other Thoughts: Highly considering the next level of CPU cooling... Liquid cooling.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Cooler!

Pros: Blue LED fan matches my other case fans. Easy install and keeps my temps nice and low. I couldnt be more satisfied! Newegg shipped it fast too!

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Its large! It fit in my Rosewill Blackhawk Mid Atx case no problem! I just had to remove the side panel fan. This cooler might not fit in smaller cases so measure!

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Very quiet and keeps my CPU under 41 C at full load! Was able to install another fan (120) on the heatsink for a push-pull configuration.

Cons: If you own the Antec 1200 case you will not be able to install a side fan. This thing is huge!

Other Thoughts: Money well spent!

4 out of 5 eggsFor AMD FX Users

Pros: Idle temps kept at about 40'C instead of with the stock fan when it was idling at sometimes 80'C on a FX-8320. Looks great, blue LEDs are bright and add a cool look to my NZXT Source 210 window case. Black finish is even and great looking, tower is sturdy. Fan is whisper quiet below 1000 rpm.

Cons: Fan does not have the switch speed control like the White Clusters fan does which is a little dissapointing. I am not 100% sure but there are several LEDs that arent li that im pretty sure have functions like brightness settings, and sequenced effects but i dont know how to make them work. DID NOT FIT THE SOURCE 210 WINDOW CASE, I thought i had a centemeter of clearance, but i do not. That is ok, though the side panel can not completely close shut i can get most of the panel brackets to line up correctly and get it "closed".

Other Thoughts: READ IF YOU ARE AMD FX 8 SERIES USER* I have an AMD FX8320 with a small overclock of about .3GHz.. With the stock cooler I was getting over 80'c on load in games like TombRaider and idled at about 60-70'C. With this cooler, on 800 RPM it was about 44'C idle and in games i never saw it above 46'C. On full 1800 RPM it is about the same maybe a couple degrees cooler. This cooler will keep FX 8 series CPUs at a safe temperature with a small amount of room for overclocking. Over all, I do not recomend for an FX 8 series overclocker.
