5 out of 5 eggsReturned but like it

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: PWM fans, a switch is provided
LED (on or off) is switchable, fan speed is switchable
New fashioned design, but i cant understand (see cons below)

Cons: Although I turned the switch on, the LED doesn't work.
The quality is great, but the design is problematic, Why?
1, How can I use the switches without opening the case?
2, Or I must open the case when I want to adjust the fan speed?
3, The switch is both a pro and a con, why? Because it will cause a lot of barrier for cable management. You will find it after the practice.

Other Thoughts: I hope anyone who can answer my question contact me and other users how he install it.
Anyway, the quality is great.

4 out of 5 eggsInteresting high quality Fans

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: This is a better than average case fan, with a superior bearing. Despite the frame being made of plastic, it is a rather heavy fan. I like that there are 3 speed adjustments on this fan that are separate from the LED lights, so if you switch it to run at 1200 rpm, the white LED lights are not going to dim. The white LEDs were a surprise at how bright they are, giving off a lot of light. It appears that you can remove the fan blades from the housing for cleaning. These fans have a lot of positive attributes, and I can say that they do move the air at what I believe is a reasonable sound level. The fans run very quiet at 1200 rpm. At $14.99 each, (buying more than 1), you get a very high quality PWM fan with a lot of flexibility for the money.

Cons: One out of the 3 fans I ordered, one of them was not functioning correctly, with a missing rpm signal, and a clicking noise in the bearing. Not sure I want to RMA, but you can buy a quality fan and still get a bad one. The bad one was functional with lights and all, but no rpm feedback and the clicking noise from the bearing. I would like to add that the fans can generate some noise at 1850 rpm, but most fans will do that at 1850 rpm. At least with these, if you do not have a fan controller, (or are using the 4 pin PWM) you can select either 1200, 1500, or 1800 rpm with a small black switch on the fan mounting hub.

Other Thoughts: On the surface, I thought this fan had a little too much "bling" for what I was looking for, but I wanted a high quality "white" LED fan, and I do not like the "Corsair" style of fan frames. I did try the Aerocool "Shark" fans, but the batch I received had an awful whine to them. So, I decided to try these Enermax TB Vegas fans out. To my surprise, they do not look as "garish" as what the photos show, and were no where as noisy as the Aerocool Shark fans. The light effect that all the ad photos show is actually fairly subtle, and you have to look at the fan practically dead on to see it. Having these fans on the roof top exhaust vents of a computer case means that you will get the brilliant led light below, but you cannot see any light patterns on the fans, unless you are sticking your head deep inside the case. Not recommended. If it were not for the 1 bad fan, I would rate these at 5 stars. Oh, one other thing to add, is that there is a separate wire lead, with a tiny black "click" button, that allows you to change the pattern of the LEDs, or to turn them off completely. The fan package comes with a small adhesive square to mount the small button in the case, should you wish to do so. If you are not going to use the small "click" button, make sure you to tie it up somewhere in the case, safely out of the way.

5 out of 5 eggsGood so far, but...

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: Got two of these with a PWM splitter cable to be top exhaust fans for a HAF 912.

Relatively quiet and can move enough air for me. Lowered my temps on the Intel Extreme Tuning utility by ~10C.

The speed limiting switch is pretty neat.

The biggest pro for me is being able to turn off the LED ;)

Cons: Nothing major.

Other Thoughts: A couple little things...

Air flows towards the speed switch, which for a top mounted (and probably a rear exhaust) fan means the switch can't be easily reached without removing it. I set mine to1800 RPM max and used software (like Speedfan) to run it slower.

Make sure you have needle-nose pliers and/or some kind of lubricant around to install the mounts in case they get stubborn. Mine wouldn't get into the fan without them.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing!

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: Fan blades are detachable, LED's are amazingly bright and have 6 different options of lighting you can change to with the click of a button. On-Fan speed control, makes your system look amazing! And they are VERY quiet! Just one thing though... MAKE SURE (if you want them BRIGHT) that you use the 4 pin power converter and connect them to a molex power source otherwise the LED's are very dim.

Cons: None ATM, working perfectly!

5 out of 5 eggsWork Fine

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: Price, looks, quiet, PWM control (though I had to get two spitters for my mobo)

Cons: Can't think of any, did I say the rubber gummiflatchers....?

Other Thoughts: Was building a new PC in a white Corsair Air 240 case and saw these, and thought - why not? Price was half price...well, a pack of two TB Vegas fans was 1/2 price and so I bought 4 total (for price of 2). White fans with white LEDs look nice...did not care about the rubber gummiflatchers to mount them. I just used the screws that came with the black Corsair fans that came with the case. (Now all I have to do is divest myself of the original 2 Corsair fans.) Nothing technical here - I just went for the looks.

5 out of 5 eggsStunning

This review is from: ENERMAX T.B.VEGAS SINGLE UCTVS12P-W PWM 120mm White LED Case Fan w/ APS control

Pros: - Brilliant LEDs
- Strong airflow
- Great aesthetics
- Quiet (when maxed out they make a subtle whoosh should)
- 6 LED modes including my favorite: Sparkle
- Removable fan blades for cleaning

Cons: - A bit pricey, however you get what you pay for with these.
- The rubber mounting solution is a double edged sword. They relieve any vibration from traditional screws, but are a pain to install, ugly, and can sometimes interfere with fan filters
