4 out of 5 eggsCool Looking, could cool more

Pros: Looks great in my home theater. Very quiet, easy setup.

Cons: Light on temperature meter too bright. Only got my CPU down to 45-50 under load. Temperature guage on the unit is about 10-15 degrees off from what Speedfan says the CPU is running at.

3 out of 5 eggsThe Good, The Bad & The Ugly

Pros: It looks retro-attractive, it is quiet, and it keeps an HTPC system cool. Mine is an older P4 system, so it runs hot. It's about the only game in town if you want a stereo-component-like liquid cooling unit.

Cons: The pump system seems to have a relatively low flow rate. There is no thermal alarm/shutoff feature. You could forget to hook up the power connector, and there is no failsafe for that. The tubing is too stiff to easily work with, and it almost promotes kinking. The meter should be able to be dimmed. The LED backlighting is bright and harsh. It should be EL. Very little tubing supplied. The build quality is not what one would expect at this price point.

Other Thoughts: OK, there are plenty of cons, but I think the really unforgivable one is that the compression fittings have such short barbs on them. I have used low end systems costing 1/5 as much that had better compression fittings. These fittings, coupled with the stiff tubing, make it easy to cause the unit to leak. Take my word on that one. For the moment it's really the only "luxury" game in town, but any competitor ought to be able to beat the quality of this unit.

5 out of 5 eggsSilverstone... Very stylish

Pros: This water cooler is VERY capable. Looking at the copper cpu block was like looking at a Maybach! Massive tank. No way this thing will overheat. High quality Liquid silver included.

Cons: WOW, this thing is HUGE! The pics don't show the perspective to see how massive the "Box" is. Poor installation manual. [No 775 chipset documentation at all.] Not enough tubing. So much water in the system will deviat the temp guage on the box from the actual temp of the cpu.

Other Thoughts: Nvidia Nmonitor shows 55c but cooling box shows about 28c. Qx6700, 3-XFX7950GT's. Plenty of heat to generate w/in my box
