Cons: This cooler will not mount on Gigabyte's GA-F2A88XN-WIFI FM2+ ITX board. The caps on the VRM outputs and a couple of caps in the corner of the board by the RAM slots are in the way.

Other Thoughts: This cooler looks good in theory, but be smarter than I was and make sure it actually fits on your motherboard before you buy it!

Pros: It fits nicely in my case with room to spare. It runs quiet.

Cons: It does cool better than nothing, but I would NOT use this on higher end CPU's that produce a lot of heat. It keeps my dual core AM2 2.7 cool enough, but I would be happier to see it lower.

Can someone please make these things with longer power leads? It seems like they keep getting shorter and shorter.

Other Thoughts: If you can get a case fan close to this thing it helps.

Other Thoughts: I'm using it in a thin HTPC with 45W AMD chip and never hear it's sound, even under heavy CPU loads.
Significally better, then a stock box cooler.

Pros: I got this unit just for the fan.it fit right on the old heatsink.I wanted a quieter fan than the original and this one fit perfectly and is a good 70% quieter!!!

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: I no longer hear the fans(replaced case & cpu fans).Keeps every thing cool!

Pros: low profile, I mean LOW profile. I thought it would be less noisy than this but my rig exceeds the cpu max wattage (switching to 45 watts this week - should fix my silence obsession). I said noisy but that's nothing compared to stock fan or popular brands. I also use the NT07 on my Intel E5200 in a slimline HTPC, works like a charm!

Cons: none that I can think of. Cheap price, low noise, low profile, what cons could you find then???

Other Thoughts: Currently using it on my gaming rig. You don't need to remove the mobo to use their back plate/bracket. I did that to discover... I had a very similar one already and I left it there. So clearly: do not remove mobo, waste of time!

Other Thoughts: I purchased one of these in the summer of 2008 and it worked well.
By january 2011 it was worn out. At medium speed it howls.
Replaced it, but the replacement fan runs about 3 times faster at the same pwm commands as the one being replaced. My new asus m4785m motherboard can't get it below 1800rpm and at that speed it is too noisy for a bedroom htpc. The old one at 1200rpm is quiet enough and I ended up putting it back. Looking another maker of a quiet 80mm 4 pin fan to replace it. Heatsink is great; fan is awful.

Pros: It did the bare minimum of what it was supposed to I guess

Cons: Only lasted for about 1 year. Started making a really loud noise. It was made of really cheap material and was honestly the worst head sink I've ever used. It didn't do a very good job keeping the cpu cool.

Other Thoughts: Spend a little more money and get a decent heat sink.

Pros: One of the lowest profile CPU fans you'll find. Most low profile fans are for 1u servers and they're LOUD. But not this one. Very quiet

Cons: Installation requires you to remove the motherboard bracket and install the custom one from Silverstone (included with the fan).

It's easy, but you should use static precautions when you change it out. If you don't have a static mat and strap, try to prevent static build up while you're working. For example, don't shuffle your feet on the carpet, don't let the cat rub up on you, don't let anyone zap you with static from the TV, don't rub a balloon on your head. Obvious stuff like that.

Other Thoughts: This fan was perfect in my APEX MI-008 case. There was very little room between the power supply and motherboard and this went in with millimeters to spare.

Pros: Solid mount, you wish all your AM2 socket processors came with this cooler; efficient and silent fan.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Goes well with slim cases, such as Cooler Master Elite 100. Newegg shipped extremely quickly.

Pros: Incredibly quiet, great for the CHEAPEST fan on here. Put this in a low profile Media Center HTPC, can't hear it at all.
