5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Used to own an older version of this with only 2 fan speeds. This fan is way quieter and pushes way more air.

Cons: None so far!

5 out of 5 eggsVery good, but not silent

Pros: Big, not slim, and push lots of air
I have 6 of these fans and they run at 820-850 rpms on low setting and 1320-1370 on high setting.

Cons: Not silent on low setting. They need to be adjusted with motherboard bios settings to run below 650 rpms to be competely silent.

Other Thoughts: Not sure why one guy here decided to measure these fans across corner to corner. These are 180mm side to side. Mounting brackets never counted towards the size of the fan, not for 60mm, not 80, not 92, not 120, not 140, and not for 180!

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect Replacement for My Raven

Pros: This was a perfect replacement for the 180mm fan in the bottom of my Silverstone Raven case (the one I broke a fan blade on). All the cables were the same length. The fan comes with a high-low speed switch and it plugs directly to the motherboard for power. Runs very quiet, even on its higher speed.

Cons: Well... I did have a fan blade break on the original fan this is replacing. The fan was about 3 years old and I was pushing down on the grill to see if that fan was what was rattling in my case. When it snapped, I wasn't happy.

Other Thoughts: Glad that Newegg stocked this for a quick repair.

3 out of 5 eggsreally big fan

Pros: It is huge and moves air.

Cons: It doesn't move as much air as you would think, even when it is on high, I am really disappointed.

It is also very thick, sadly it is too thick to go on the side of my fractal midi tower which means I can't close the bottom of the panel, really kind of a pain.

Other Thoughts: Eventually i will have to take the fan out and modify it to make it fit in the case.

Manufacturer Response:

Thank you very much for purchasing a SilverStone. For maximum airflow, please make sure the AP181 is connected to your motherboard's 3pin fan header without smart or auto fan control enabled. You may also opt to connect AP181 directly to your power supply via a 3pin to 4pin adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent

Pros: These push a ton of air. The The fans are quite on low, and make a bit of noise on high but nothing too noticeable. I had three of these in my case, and even with my exhaust fan going bad I only had my computer show signs of overheating once.

Cons: Out of the three fans that I have in my RV02E, two work perfectly fine. One has a wire that comes loose on occasion and rattles against the fan blade. It can be quite noisy, but it is easy to fix by just pulling it up a little.

Other Thoughts: .

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: pretty quite and moves a respectable amount of air. fan controller switch works well to turn up the speed on the fly. Probably the only 180 mm fan on the market.

Cons: thick. could not mount on side panel of my case as I desired because it brushed up against my cpu cooler.

Other Thoughts: if you need a 180 mm fan you don't have much choice but this fits the bill nicely.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat so far

Pros: I have 3 of these in my Raven R02. I have had them for about 2 months and have had no issues. They are smooth and quiet for their size. I also have a Corsair H100 and dual 140mm radiators being cooled by them, I have been impressed so far but I don't have a lot of experience with 180mm fans either.

Cons: Huge

Other Thoughts: I would recommend them, they keep 2 Nvidia GTX670's in SLI and an i5 3570K very cool and everything is overclocked. I do have the radiators spaced about 3/8" up above the fans and I believe that makes a big difference.

3 out of 5 eggsIsn't exactly a 180mm fan

Pros: The fan is huge and works like a jet turbine.

Cons: The fan measured well over 180 mm from corner to corner). In fact it measured 240mm!!!
It wouldn't fit my fan brackets. I had to return it.

Other Thoughts: The fan within the casing was 180 mm, but the fan as a whole is not.

2 out of 5 eggsMeh

Pros: Large, quiet fan that moves a lot of air.

Cons: Died 20 days after the 1 year warranty expired.

Other Thoughts: I purchased the Silverstone RV02B-EW in April last year. It uses three of these fans as bottom intake, which I loved. I never bothered to check the warranty... 1 year is relatively pathetic. Corsair offers 2-5 years on their cases and fans. If I didn't love this case so much I would switch to their products... as it is, I'm just going to keep buying Silverstone fans as they fail. I wish more companies offered 180mm fans though...

5 out of 5 eggsthis is what you're looking for

Pros: Quiet, really.
Effective cooling.
What else do you need to know?
Well, I guess the sleeved cables are a nice touch. As is the voltage switch.

Cons: Only in black?

Other Thoughts: I put this on the side of my fractal design midi case to cool my SLI GTX560ti setup. I have a water cooling loop for my CPU (a real one, not a corsair jobby). As a direct result of this fan, I'm able to benchmark 3D Mark11 at Extreme settings in a repeating loop at 950 mhz, up from 900 mhz, with temps much better than before. I had a stock fractal 140mm fan on the side before this and it did nothing. The right fan can make all the difference!
