SILVERSTONE AP141 139mm Air Penetrator Air Channeling Case Fan

Pros: Very quiet, especially if you do not have anything obstructing the intake. I have a blank hole cut out for it, no filters or mesh, and while it's not silent it's the quietest fan in my system.
The cable sleeving is good, while I would have preferred that it went up to the actual motor hub it's not a big issue. The colors of the wire are not visible through the sleeve.
The directed airflow design works exactly as advertised, check out Silverstone's video demonstration of it for a better idea.

Cons: Fairly weak static pressure, though that's an issue most 140x25mm fans have at the moment. I personally would not use these on a rad, I would go with very high static pressure 120mm fans and a 140mm adapter. That being said, these are not really designed for rad use, they are designed to be intakes on your case.

Pros: This fan moves a TON of air. You can really tell the difference from any other fan just how much air it moves and also how directional it is. I HIGHLY recommend this fan to anybody! The MIR also came back!

Cons: To loud for me at full RPM. Don't like the RPM getting any higher than 1250 for this fan in-particular. At 1250 RPM I can't hear it. Its nice to have the head room though if you really want to max out the performance of your system and fan.

Other Thoughts: MIR took about a month and a half. Not bad really. I will defiantly be fitting my system out with these if I can.

Pros: really the best fan for Radiators. no dead or weak spots on coolings fins on Rads or Heatsinks. so get that maximum cooling. highly recommended for 20+ FPI (Fins Per Inch) on rads like the hwlabs BlackIce GTX. and its not much noisy at all at1500rpm @ 12v. great Static Pressure for the rad and heatsink. good air flow.

Cons: turn the fan up side down makes humming noise like something isnt right in the motor must be just the one fan i got to test out on my rad like the other fans i'm trying out

Other Thoughts: all around really good fan where you want the air the Most

Pros: Excellent airflow and easy to set-up. Has a nice blue tint to the fan blades. Cheap price. :)

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Purchased this fan to replace PSU fan that began clicking and making this noise periodically. I replaced with the ap141 and now it works silently and effectively. All I had to do was a tiny wire mod to join a 3 pin to 2 pin in order for fan to work in my older PSU. Excellent product!

Pros: Lowered my cpu temps several degrees. No need for fan grill.

Cons: No leds to make my case glow (though im looking into uv lights)

Other Thoughts: I am using dual xeons and its hard to find (i know noctua has one) active coolers when the processors are that close together. So I got a Lian Li pc-x500 case that has no drive bays in front of the motherboard to help airlow. The fans that Lian Li includes are pretty and quiet but don't put out much air. The Air Penetrator isn't the highest CPM fan but it does a great job at channeling all that air directly where I need it.

Pros: Very effectively tunnels air to components. Also very quiet operation for a 1500 RPM case fan, which is in contrast to what "starkline" observed in a separate review, so it's possible that "starkline" received a defective fan. This fan is designed more specifically for case intakes and areas that require high static airflow, such as high-density finned CPU coolers, hard drive cages, etc. If you are looking to exhaust air from your case, then you may be better served by a standard, higher CFM fan, which diffuses the air stream in a much wider pattern. In all, however, the Silverstone AP141 (as well as its 120mm brother, the Silverstone AP121) is an excellent consumer-based fan that is very well-suited for its designed purpose. Highly recommended in this regard.

Cons: None that I've found.

Other Thoughts: Dropped case and CPU temperatures across the board in all three of my company's most recent computer builds. Have been running four AP121's in conjunction with three NB-Multiframe M12-S3 fans (the NB’s used as exhausts) in a fourth build from several months ago, and no fan failures or unusual fan noise in that machine, which runs hard for an average of 14-16 hours per day.

Pros: Comes with a 5v/7v/12v 3 header, 3 pin adapter to lock in a speed and sound if you wish. Very powerful at 12v but a bit noisy

Cons: Honestly for a 120mm it's quite noisy at 12v on mounts that are point blank intakes with no spacing in front of them. 7v is the right noise you would expect but feels rather week in a spaced or point blank mount see other thoughts for details.

Other Thoughts: @ 7v in the side door it matched the other fans in my case fractal design r3 with COOLER MASTER R4-S2S-124K-GP 120mm Case Fan swapped in as well to fill all fan spaces. I was using a gtx 275 that constantly hit 100% fan speed and even in a sound dampened case was noisy as all hell. This fan aiming direct to the GPU and the other fans increasing overall airflow lowered the temps under load by at least 5c making it only get up to around 75% fan speed brining DBA outside of case that is otherwise silent down greatly when gaming.

Pros: Strong directed airflow, very quiet, lots of decent accessories included, convenient multiple mounting hole configuration. Plus it looks cool. :)

Cons: Somewhat pricey.

Other Thoughts: Bought this mainly out of curiosity, on sale, and tested it in various setups in and out of cases. The directed airflow design really works...you can feel it from 6 feet away! Helps greatly in creating a positive pressure case environment. Obviously designed for case fan intake (as all the advertising info clearly indicates) so don't recommend buying it for any other use. Possible exceptions to this are (1) radiator pull fan and (2) external A/V cooling. Currently have it sitting in front of my PS3 to aid in air circulation. :p Not cheap, but well suited for special use.

Pros: Decent air flow and relatively low noise.

Cons: Makes squeaking and clicking noises within 1 hour of installation on the high speed 12v line.

The bad noises are reduced by switching to the 7v speed reduction cable, but it is still audible.

Other Thoughts: After hours and hours of research I decided to try this fan because I was relatively sure it would fit inside a PSU I bought a little over a year ago. It's one of those odd sized 135mm fans. Well, this fan does fit perfectly, and no redrilling or other mod was needed.

Unfortunately, within an hour of installation, I'm sitting listening to squealing and clicking. It sounds as if the fan is failing already.

Not what I expect from Silverstone. This will make me think twice before another purchase from them.
