From heat pipes to fins to fan, everything here is designed to deliver the best cooling. Heat pipes with HDC technology, widely spaced aluminum fins, and a PWM fan all work side by side to dissipate heat efficiently. Cooling is only part of the story. The SilverStone Argon Series AR01 also operates silently thanks to the fan’s aerodynamic design and anti-vibration rubber mounting.

Heat-pipe direct contact (HDC) technology
The three 8mm heat pipes with heat-pipe direct contact (HDC) technology connect directly to your CPU when installed for extremely efficient first-level heat conduction. Transfer more heat from your CPU for maximum computing performance.
Widely spaced aluminum fins
The three 8mm heat pipes pass through aluminum fins in U shape for maximum heat transfer from the heat pipes. The aluminum fins are widely spaced for unobstructed air circulation while the surface is T-shaped for better heat conduction.
Forced-air heat dissipation
The SilverStone Argon Series AR01 comes with a compact 120mm PWM fan for smart cooling. Cool aggressively at full loads and silently at low loads. Aerodynamic design allows for quieter operation.
Anti-vibration rubber mounting
The fan is offed anti-vibration rubber mounting not only for stable rotating but also for silent computing.
Universal compatibility
The SilverStone Argon Series AR01 is compatible with Intel Socket LGA775/115X/1366/2011 and AMD Socket AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2. Enjoy a system upgrade without the hassle of purchasing an extra CPU cooler.

5 out of 5 eggsBetter then Expected

Pros: Simple enough to install. Not noisy compared to the rest of my rig. Cools amazingly well. Very light weight.

Cons: Blue/white color scheme is meh, but not offensive.

Other Thoughts: Lapped 3770k running at 4.2g. I have a lot of airflow in my case and this thing works better then expected as far as cooling performance alone. Installing on the motherboard already in a case was a chore, but not impossible. Comes with 2nd mounts for another fan, running with a spare 120 for lulz. I could have spent triple the price for a AIO liquid cooler and gained nothing. This thing is amazing.

5 out of 5 eggsPerforms as Intended

Pros: -Quiet
-Mostly Easy to install
-Fit my socket (LGA 1150)
-Looks Spiffy in my all blue interior.

Cons: -The backplate was pretty hard to line up for me, would have been easier with 2 people.

Other Thoughts: I am able to OC my 4790k to 4.8GHz at 1.35V, with the chip nice and cool at 68 C under load. For a relatively cheap air cooler I think that's pretty good.

If you have a socket 1150 MOBO and are wondering if this will fit, it will.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Cooler

Pros: Comes with quite a bit of hardware to easily mount it to a motherboard. Bigger than it looks in the picture, the included 120mm fan its small compared to this thing lol.

Easy to install, much easier than some of the other types ive tried out over the years. Instructions were mostly clear.

120mm fan can easily be replaced by a faster more efficient one if desired. The rubber mounts were odd at first, but they reduce the noise by quite a bit. You get two sets.

Cons: I wasnt too sure on how tight to make the main screws when finishing up the mount to the CPU. I haven't done this in a while so, I was unfamiliar on how tight to make them. Not sure what to expect temp wise from such a device, with copper and aluminum It wont be as efficient as a solid copper one. I have no issues so far, but i have yet to stress test anything.

Most of my con's are lack of experience.

Other Thoughts: Bigger than it looks, easy to put on and well this is new territory for me. I've never used heat pipe tech w a combo of two metals.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat value and performance

Pros: Great value and performance at this price point

Cons: Bundled installation instructions almost useless. Found a youtube video that showed some but not all of the steps.

Other Thoughts: I used this with a A8-5600K to replace the stock AMD cooler. The system would intermittently shutdown, since the day I put it together, and finally traced it to the CPU overheating. Apparently the stock AMD cooler was inadequate from day one. I don't game or overclock, but since this cooler was installed, the highest core temp I have seen is 32 degrees C.

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Very quiet, keeps cpu around 80F. No OC. Very nice looking. The rubber attachments (in place of screws) are great.

Cons: Hmm

5 out of 5 eggsGreat fan

Pros: I got this after hearing good reviews from some podcast. I was not expect much, other than the price being under $30 (after rebate). Was I pleasantly surprised. It is a well made air cooler. I used to replace an old Cooler Master air cooler, and this is significantly smaller. The most improvement is the fan orientation. In a mid-ATX tower case, it blows air horizontally. which aligns with the rear exhaust. My old CM fan blows vertically, and blocks with the RAM sticks (for exchange).

The vibration absorption rubber anchors that secure the 120mm to the radiator shows engineering attention to detail.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Looking at the spec, it may be not as quiet comparing with the CM fan. But I cannot tell the difference.

It's a keeper.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't install on Asrock Z87

Pros: No pros

Cons: It doesn't install on an Asrock Z87 Killer LGA1150 motherboard because the motherboard has snap-in holes for the cooler and this cooler requires screws. The instruction manual has TINY type and is poorly written. I have to use the cooler that came with the I7 processor. Their website has minimal help. This sure sucks.

4 out of 5 eggsGood cooler

Pros: I like that the fan is blue call me biased. It does a good job cooling my FX-6300. Its overclocked to 4.3 @ 1.36v, at full load keeps it under 55c. Installation was simple once you read the instructions carefully. Fan rubber grommets are a plus.

Cons: Fan is loud at high rpm but i suppose most are.

4 out of 5 eggsCPU fan upgrade

Pros: The fan is very quiet. The rubber grommets on it are easily installed and it dissipates heat very efficiently!

Cons: the only thing i can complain about is that it has pretty terrible directions for low knowledge users, and no fan control software.

Other Thoughts: it is quite tall so if you're getting this be mindful of your space also it gets pretty wide so it sits touching the ram.

5 out of 5 eggsHuge Cooler

Pros: Building a new machine for my parents. Keeps the A10 APU at 31 degrees Cel.

Cons: No Cons

Other Thoughts: If you are getting this for an FM2/A-Series build, make sure you have at least a mid tower case. There is about a half inch of clearance between the sink and the side panel (for my build). I wasn't paying enough attention that it was 120mm. Also, make sure you mount the fan high enough on the sink so that it does not touch the ram dims.
