2 out of 5 eggsQuiet but do not last.

Pros: Quiet when they work and they move quite a bit of air for a 80mm fan. When they are working, the are quieter than my 120mm.

Cons: Well I received 3 of these for Christmas. The first one started to die at the beginning of February so I had that one replaced. Then at the end of February the other 2 started going bad also. But again they were replaced. You have to love Neweggs customer support.

Other Thoughts: If I were newegg, I would have these fans removed from the website. They are faulty and the reviews show it. I wish I could have these fans replaced with a different brand, but nope.

1 out of 5 eggsfan goes bad after a few months

Pros: Fits CM690

Cons: Purchased December 08'

Malfunctioning January 09'

Like others have exerianced, fan starts to slow down, and it make noises when it does this. When I hear the sound, I have to stop the fan with a pen, and it goes back to full speed for a little bit...

Other Thoughts: I tried the fan as an exhaust and intake, and it still does the same thing.

I would look for a different brand if you are looking for a 80 x 80 x 15mm fan to fit your CM690.

Pros: Couldn't test the unit.

Cons: Arrived DOA and would not spin up. I tried the three-pin connector and the PSU adapter.

3 out of 5 eggsFair

Pros: Quiet, moves OK amount of air

Cons: Poor wiring. Seems like they'd chafe up easily if your not careful. Price for this is a little high.

1 out of 5 eggsshort life span

Pros: It fit the application that I needed it for.

Cons: Maybe a month or two of use it started to slow down then speed up; making a wrrrr noise every few seconds. I pulled it out and could not get it to start up on the bench. If I flick it with my finger it will do one revolution then stop

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: quiet, comes with silicone mounts to make it even quieter.

Cons: framing material is soft, if you screw it in, dont do it hard or you will strip it out.
silicone mounts are hard to install

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very quiet, decent speed, and 15mm thick is very nice for small spaces.

Cons: These fans only lasted about 4 months before they started making a loud grinding noise on start-up. They would only stop if I shut down and restarted.

Other Thoughts: I bought these fans specifically for my new case that has a space behind the motherboard tray that allows for extra CPU cooling. Like I said, they worked great for a while, then they didn't.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works

Pros: It moves a decent amount of air for a small fan. Good build quality. No irritating high frequency hum or buzzing.

Cons: It's not exactly quiet. The specs say it's an 1800rpm fan but the motherboard reports it at around 2100rpm. Can't hear it over the Thermaltake Duorbs or Scythe fans when they're running at 1600rpm but I can hear it when the Scythe's are only running around 1000rpm (5 case + 2 on the Thermalright Ultra Extreme)

Other Thoughts: I bought used this fan on a Thermalright HR-05 IFX/SLI northbridge cooler on my Maximus Formula X38 motherboard.
This combo plus OCZ Freeze paste has cooled the northbridge from idle/load 53/60+ degrees C to 39/49 with ambient around 75 degrees Fahrenheit. System specs - Maximus Formula X38, QX9650, 2 x HD3870 w/Duorbs, 2x1 GB Corsair Dominator 8500. Silverstone TJ-09 w/7 Scythe S-Flex SFF21F 120mm fans.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Simple and functional. Looks nice. Very quiet. Also nice and thin. Had to replace a chip cooler fan to fit in a tight case. Works great.

Cons: none

1 out of 5 eggsnot even close to worth it

Pros: when it worked, it worked very well: good cfm rating and yet very quiet

Cons: did not work for long (not even close to the posted average lifetime)

Other Thoughts: silenx fans are very hit and miss. but mostly, they're overpriced and quit working long before any other fan would. i had one of these on an external hd case since i needed a fan with a slim profile. i will not buy silenx again.
