4 out of 5 eggsGood cooler, even for CPU

Pros: Needed to cool an Atom 330 on an Intel D945GCLF2 (netbook CPU on desktop mobo). The stock aluminum HSF wasn't giving me comfortable temps in my Mini-ITX build, put this in and the temps dropped about 15 Celsius.

Cons: Only complaint is that the "angel wings" on the bottom (for using snap in screws) needed to be broken off in order to avoid bending a capacitor and nearly touching the ram (too close for my comfort).

Other Thoughts: Blue LED is cool.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Pretty safe for transport once installed. Comes with a sticky foam shim to ensure good contact.
Pretty good NB temperature reading even before my thermal compound (Arctic Silver Ceramique 2) set.

Cons: No proper baseplate. The construction of the base part is basically a bunch of fins which were very carefully bent to form the base/radiator assembly, and ground down very flat. This means two corners of my NB aren't perfectly covered with copper, and if your NB is bigger than mine... be careful. I suggest sticking some thermal compound on, sticking this thing on your NB, taking it off, and seeing where the imprint is. If the imprint goes into the gaps in coverage too deeply, you might not want to power your computer up with this installed.
Had to hack the install of this with a pair of nylon nuts/bolts. The 'universal' slots on the base assembly were very slightly too short for my NB to attach with the included hardware. With another 1/8" (and maybe some reinforcement ribbing), this really would be universal.

Other Thoughts: Blue LEDs go pretty well (aesthetically) with Geforce GTX lettering on nVidia's reference coolers.

5 out of 5 eggsSecond one as good as the first

Pros: Blue light. Fast fan. Copper. Easy install.
Keeps my NB cool on my Biostar TA970 and 970XE. They are known to have hot running NB's.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I will no sooner build a PC without this cooler than I would build one without Arctic Silver 5 (and yes, I did use AC5 on this heat sink!)

5 out of 5 eggsnice little cooler

Pros: it is a great cooler for a NEMA17 motor for a 3d printer.

Cons: it's a bit too heavy for a moving motor, but good for one that doesn't.

Other Thoughts: purchased memory coolers with the self-adhesive, works just as good with half the weight.

5 out of 5 eggsQuite the little heatsink

Pros: A lot of surface area for such a small size, included near-silent cooling fan. 2 different clip types to fit on different mounting points

Cons: A bit heavy, don't drop it on your motherboard or you might knock some surface mount components off. It is also a bit tall, so definitely measure the height of your enclosure if you are building it in a tight little mini-itx enclosure.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to cool a celeron 847 soldered on to an m-itx motherboard. The chipset cooler the motherboard came with did not inspire much confidence in its cooling abilities. The space was a bit tight as the fan that comes with this unit is a 20mm thick variety. I salvaged and reused the slimmer one that came with the motherboard. Temps that would start around 38c and get into the low 50's under load are now sitting at 28c and hasn't exceeded 34c under load. I attribute part of that to the arctic silver 5 I used.

4 out of 5 eggsNorthbridge Chipset Cooler

Pros: Does the job and cooled my nb by 4 degrees.

Cons: (Does Not Fit MSI G46 MOBO!) I had to modify the brackets on the heatsink as they where to short. The base of the heatsink that sits on the nb chip was a little off and not flat. I had to lap it and tighten the nut and bolt that holds the fins together to form the base. Nothing big for an average techy.

Other Thoughts: Adhesive thermal would work better if you don't want to modify the bracket to hold the heatsink in place and of course leave it there for life.

5 out of 5 eggsgreat! Simply Great!

Pros: Excellent fit...the attachment hooks can be made to fit almost any motherboard with loops.

Cooling is phenomenal! The stock heatsink on my ASUS server motherboard got really hot, and needed additional airflow too. This is pure copper, and with a fan-works phenomenally at heat dissipation.

Fan is pretty darned quiet.

Cons: Fan has bright LED, not really necessary for a server, but I'm not knocking an egg off, as it could be really nice in a PC application.

Other Thoughts: You can only hear a slight buzz if you put your ear right up to the case, otherwise, this is one of the quietest little high speed fans I've ever seen!

3 out of 5 eggsnot bad on AMD APU

Pros: big copper cooler, works/Fits AMD E-350 Biostar delux mobo.

Cons: Fan is bad. makes very annoying rattle sound. a good fan will run around 10-15$ driving the cost up 2x. the cooling is not as good as i expected as the mounting is not very robust. With new Fan, Teflon Nuts and bolts instead of weak springs and good thermal compound the cooler is much Much better but cost much more at that point.

4 out of 5 eggshmm

Pros: fan works

Cons: blue led fan, doesn't work with my lga775 mobo hits 2 nearby capacitors

Other Thoughts: base was bigger than I thought about 55mm diameter I checked for enough room for the 40mm fan...silly me

4 out of 5 eggsnot truely universal, but still good

Pros: I have several of these. bought my first one 5 years ago to cool down a northbridge. it's been of a few builds since then and it's always worked better than stock.

Cons: fan is ok. not entirely silent, but pretty quiet. I have found 2 mobo's this won't fit on. first was an plder sabertooth x58- holes were further apart than the heatsink would allow. unfortunately, that's a very small shortcoming cause the holes were really close to fitting- maybe 1/8 of an inch off. second was on a buddies HP mobo. it did actually fit, but wouldn't sit flush cause the chip was not perfectly centered between the holes. that's not the fault of the the heatsink, but the mobo though.

Other Thoughts: I took one egg off for the fact the holes weren't far enough apart to fit an x58 board. small shortcoming, that would be very easily fixed. I didn't take an egg off for it not sitting flush cause that's the fault of the mobo manufacturer.
