92HA2 Direct Touch
- Pros: Great design and size for htpc cases. Direct touch heatpipes are very efficient. It is keeping my 125w processor cool in a small htpc case. Using OCZ Freeze and dual fans my idle temp is 34c and full load temp is 46c. The excellent design of the curved heatsink fins makes this a very quiet cooler. Fans clip on easily. Heatsink mounting clip attaches easily and holds very tight. Can be mounted without removing motherboard.
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: Get this cooler, you wont be disapointed. Buying more of these.
Ok
- Pros: Decent price, quiet, not too large. If it holds together I'll be happy.
- Cons: Design and construction are fairly low quality. I'm sort of waiting for the entire assembly to pop apart and take out everything within a few feet of it. Nothing screws together, it's all held together by spring clips. The instructions were clearly for a previous version and it took me about 10 minutes to dry fit it before I opened my case.
- Other Thoughts: FYI- air flow on the fan is from the unmarked to marked side, decide which way you want it before you install it because the fan clips are a pain once the sink is on the chip.
Should be more popular
- Pros: Great cooling for smaller cases, doesn't cut your fingers like Zalman fans and the mount is excellent. Simple and effective. Direct touch pipes is always a good idea.
- Cons: Mounting can be tricky, just make sure one is hooked on first, then have someone hold that end. Adjust the other end accordingly, if done correctly it should fit without you having to pull so hard you feel like it's going to crack.
- Other Thoughts: This type of mounting is probably the quickly way to mount the heatsink and also the tightest fit. Refer to the pictures for details.
