The ultimate in airflow to noise ratio, Effizio Quiet Fans are the only fans in the industry to be designed with silence and optimal airflow in mind. Smaller, domed motor hub, larger, more dramatic fan blade sweep area, no other fans on the market come even close in performance! There might be fans that offer more airflow or lower noise levels, but when it comes to a balance between the two, these fans can't be beat, now with Japanese fluid dynamic bearings for ultra long life and reduced vibration.

  • newegg Great airflow to noise ratio The smaller motor hub and larger fan blade sweep area make the SilenX EFX-08-15 deliver 32 CFM airflow at a low noise level of 15 dBA. This case fan is perfectly balanced between performance and noise.
  • newegg Japanese fluid dynamic bearings With Japanese fluid dynamic bearings, the SilenX EFX-08-15 can run quietly while offering extended service life.

5 out of 5 eggsSilent and decent air flow

Pros: I used this inside of an Evercool hd cooling bay (5.25" bay converter) and it was a perfect fit. I liked the red color too. It runs silent and keeps my hard drives perfectly cool. Always in the green.

Cons: None. Everything is quiet over here.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome

Pros: Quiet and moves quite a bit of air.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Wanted a cooler case. The last 80mm fan I tried in the front was very noisy. I can't even hear this one. I bought this and it's 120mm big brother. Both are very quiet and move a whole lot of air. Dropped my internal case temperatures a few degrees.

3 out of 5 eggsOK fan

Pros: Not the greatest case fan. Cools ok. Cheap. 3 stars.

Cons: Doesn't cool all that well and you can get better for the price.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very quiet for my use.

Cons: Any fan would be better if it put out more CFM at a lower DB

Other Thoughts: I can't hear 2 of them over my other fans. wish they moved more air, but you can't really fight physics.

2 out of 5 eggsGood...and Bad

Pros: Build quality looks quite good. Frame and fan are both quite sturdy. While running there is no vibration nor any electronics noise. The addition of both regular screws and isolation mounts (rubber screws) is a nice plus. Since I'm not a windowed case user it's nice to have the molex pigtailed so neither connector option ever gets lost.

Cons: I'm amazed that so few find these fans have a definite whine while running at the standard 12v. I bought both the EFX-08-15 (15db) and the EFX-08-12 (12db) versions thinking the 12 would be absolutely silent while the 15, if I strained hard enough, might have just a faint noise. Unfortunately I was surprised that both offer up blade induced airflow whining noise surpassing that of my purported 18db and 24db fans running at 12v.

Other Thoughts: Sadly I have to rate these SilenX fans low as my main reason for buying them was the claim of being quiet. While the airflow is greater than expected so is the noise.

The Linkworld FAN-8-2 80mm fans I bought here about 2 weeks prior for 1/3 the price (multi-discount) are rated 30db @2600 RPM but are much quieter when comparing airflow noise. Unfortunately they do have an ever so slight ticking noise and less airflow than the SilenX. I was expecting to under-volt the Linkworld fans for near silent use but they are quiet enough out of the box at 12v albeit a bit airflow challenged.

5 out of 5 eggsNice and Quiet

Pros: Quiet. Nice long 3-pin leads. Do what they are supposed to do. Didn't need power tools to remove them from the packaging. ;)

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsGood fans

Pros: Very quiet, moves a good amount of air for the noise/cfm ratio. Comes w/ 3 pin & molex connectors.

Cons: Not really a con but I would have preferred black fans. Still love them.

5 out of 5 eggsAre they even on?

Pros: Installed two of these in my storage server to replace the buzzing oem case fans, powered back on, and I couldn't even tell that the system had come on.
The brand name says it all, they're silent.

Cons: These are just barely, emphasis on barely, larger than a normal 80mm fan, I had to work a little bit and it was a very tight fit to get both to fit side-by-side in the case.
They're crammed in at the back of the case, but that wasn't worth dropping the rating a star over.

Other Thoughts: These move as much air as a standard 80mm fan, but are dead silent. If you don't want to hear you computer when it's on, these are the real deal.

5 out of 5 eggsExtraordinary

Pros: I am truly impressed. And having been in this business for the majority of my life, that is not an easy accomplishment.

This fan is super quiet, not even 15db. more like 10. Airflow is great, 30+cfm

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Bulk order options of these would make me want to buy full large boxes at a time.
